GWM ADELAIDE CITY DEALERSHIP. I brought in my vehicle Haval H9 Ultra in on April 2025 for a regular service under warranty, its now January 2026 and I still do not have my vehicle - it's still at your dealership!!!! Why haven't the services been completed correctly and accurately - causing me to return my vehicle over 21 times in the past ?… Read more
(Oil leaks, tyre pressure sensors, engine problems etc), leaving me without a vehicle for months and having to pay out of pocket expenses for Uber and rental cars ?
Why hasn't the dealership taken responsibility when the manager demanded in writing (text messages) that payment must be paid in full after work hours prior to services started ?
Why hasn't the dealership acknowledged that a full diagnosis (in writing) that was requested multiple times prior to any repairs being commenced - instead of commencing unauthorised repairs without my legal consent or acknowledgement ?
Why hasn't the dealership acknowledged the verbal abuse and harassment daily multiple phone calls (within a 2 minute span) by the manager be acknowledged which was provided to you ?
Why hasn't the dealership responded to: - Legal Letter of Demand on 1/10/2025 at 11:47am - Letter of Legal Proceedings on 27/10/2025 at 8:53am - Follow up final email letter 6/01/2026 at 4:44pm
You have breached Australian Consumer Law as outlined in the emails, and as you are fully aware all of the factual evidence (screenshots) have been forwarded to you.
Again, for clarity - you still have my vehicle at your dealership since April 2025 without any response, resolution or accepting responsibility.
You are fully aware of this as you have been provided all the factual evidence via emails.
To the buyers looking at purchasing a vehicle from this dealership and using them for services - simply don't!
There is a reason why many, many consumers have had similar issues and concerns like myself, its all publicly available, just search it on google and Facebook.
No clarity on:
- What services were completed? - What diagnosis was made? - Is the car roadworthy? - Why has it taken 9 months (as of current) for a service to be completed? - Is it acceptable to be left many months (multiple times) without a car and declining me a loan car, to which I had to use Uber and rental cars? - Why hasn't services completed correctly and accurately multiple times (major oil leaks, faulty tyre pressure sensors, engine problems etc) ? - Why did the service manager demand payment to made in full (after work hours) verbally and in SMS for a service that was not diagnosed or started? - Why was authorised repairs without a diagnosis or my consent made? - Blocking me on Facebook? - Declining to reply to multiple legal letters provided to you? - The repeated daily multiple harassment phone calls (within a 2 minute span) by the service manager (provided to you) be acknowledged ?
Again as stated in previous emails - under Australian Consumer Law - I rejected the vehicle in writing (multiple times) due to major failures, services not being completed correctly many times, many months without a vehicle causing me severe financial stress as I had to use Uber and Rental cars, unauthorised repairs without my knowledge or consent; to name a few.
For clarity, all of these concerns were made to you in writing multiple times without a response. Looking forward to your response.
Update 18/3/26 - still no car since April 2025! No resolution offered, no concerns acknowledged. Still no response from Legal letters from October 2025.

I bought a 2024 lux hybrid great car for the price. No complaints at all done 30800kms in 14 months, love it and would buy another tomorrow. Show details
So we’ve had this car for two years. I’ve driven many cars in my 30 or so years of driving and these cars, are dangerous. Seriously considering buying this car. Many people have the same issues we do. There are many flaws with the vehicle. Mainly, you cannot use the safety features you’ve paid good money for. At first we thought it would just be… Read more
a matter of adjusting to the car, but no. We’ve never adjusted. Things like lane control, are super sensitive. For instance, if it’s set and you’re not deadset in the middle of your lane, it will beep loudly at you and try to steer for you. This is dangerous. I tend to sit a little further left in the lane than programming would prefer and it just screams at me all day long. I’ve been trying to exit the highway, indicating, and it’s safe to do so and the car tries to pull me out of changing lanes!! It’s just not safe for a car to steer you out of a safe turn that you need to do. Another example, if I’m in cruise control and it’s coming up on the slightest bend, it breaks, and breaks hard. My other car with a similar feature has no issues and won’t drop 10 - 20kms quickly for a soft bend in the road, it is dangerous and renders the cruise control useless. When I indicate to turn or change lanes it will sometimes beep to tell me someone’s in the nonexistent lane, like there’s a stationary lamp post there, not something I need to worry about. Or, it is detecting the car in two lanes over that I also don’t need to worry about. Everything is just way too sensitive. It’s counterproductive. And, dangerous. We have tried to address this and there was a recall because it was an issue. But even after ‘fixing it’, it’s just as bad. But, you can’t turn it off. In my other car, if I don’t want any of my safety features on for whatever reason, I just turn them off and they stay off. In this car I have to turn them off every single time. I’d have to spend five minutes in the car every time I went to drive off to set it safely. No thanks. And, I’ve paid for this car to do things I want it to do, why would I turn them off??!! Then there’s the screen and aircon. There’s no buttons for this so to access your aircon you’ve got to be trying to press the screen as you’re driving. It’s very dangerous to be doing this while driving, it takes ages to revert to your other screen if you want to do something with your cameras, music, or anything else. It’s not just poor development/design/programming, it’s dangerous and counterintuitive. This car has so many flaws and whatever you do, just buy something else. We looked at similar other cars and I deeply regret not buying any of the other cars we looked at. We’ve been involved in three not at fault accidents. Our car is the sky blue colour and I swear, people just don’t see the car and run in to us. I have one good point, it’s inexpensive to run. That’s it. Everything, and I mean everything, else about it is bad.

ONE YEAR ON AND FRUSTRATED – I have been driving this car for a year now, and have some more thoughts on the overall experience. Generally I still find the car ok to drive, but have given up trying to get anything from the dealership. They can't even tell me how to tune the AM radio. For a large car it's fairly economical. I only ever do short trips, so all city running,… Read more
which gives me about 7.4km/ltr of fuel (to me a more meaningful number than ltr/100km, which is 13.5) not great but ok for a heavy, large petrol engine. As time has gone on I find myself hating some of the safety systems. First point is they need to be turned off every time the engine is started, which is a laborious process, but my main concern is that I actually consider some aspects to be unsafe. The driver attention feature triggers all the time. I can just glance around at the mirrors and it starts alarming, often I am looking straight ahead at the road, but, for some reason it still alarms. besides being really annoying I feel it is also dangerous. All alarm tones sound the same, so when an alarm goes off you find yourself looking around, away from the road, to see what is triggering the alarm. The traffic crossing warnings are great, especially when trying to pull out of a parking space when your vision is blocked on one or both sides. The thing I consider most dangerous is the lane keeping function. previously when I've encountered this it was either just a unique warning light/sound, or a slight nudge that only operated when you weren't intentionally changing lanes. This car ignores the fact that your turn indicators are operating and, as you try to change lanes it tries to push you back into traffic. I consider this dangerous, and weird, because the other cars I have driven with this same 'nudge' feature disable it when you are indicating
Haval Jolion not so great – Plus Very comfortable and spacious Nice to drive on open roads Looks nice Cons Most dangerous car that I’ve ever driven I say this with over 40 years of driving exp around the world in many different cars. driving well. It has the biggest lag to starting off. Around a second then the turbo kicks in and lurches you forward So when someone cuts in front due to the slow take off you nearly wipe them out!! And here’s the kicker… there is a little camera in front of the driver inside that alerts you to focus on the road But the alert with beeping is on the screen with a statement that you have to answer yes or no. So you have to take your eyes OFF the road to turn it off!! What the…. If you can handle the extreme lag at take off and the constant alarms and lights you will be fine But if you have ADHD I would advise against it. Yes you can turn some off before you start, but it doesn’t remember the setting.
An amazing little car – I first drove a Haval Jolion in South Africa on a visit. Over the 2 weeks I thoroughly enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Last October our daughter needed a new car and the Jolion was the best car for the price and with the best warranty. She has driven it for around 17000km and it has been flawless. perfectly reliable. It's engine and controls are smooth and the ride is comfortable with very little noise of any kind. It has a few little annoying niggles like the poorly worded menu system but overall it's an amazing car.
GWM Haval Jolion 2023 Hybrid – UPDATE: It is now just on 3 years old, done 10,000 kms and the car rattles and shakes and the ride is so bad I go to the physio with my thoracic spine weekly. I had a passenger in the back and was asked if I had a problem with the suspension. Cars of the same model and year are selling for half of the original price. Review for Haval Jolion … Read more
Ultra hybrid 2023 I’m putting this first because the reviews by experts don’t tell you and neither does the company selling the car. If you don’t do a lot of Kms then don’t buy the hybrid as you don’t charge the battery enough and it runs on petrol. You get the same economy as the petrol car 7.9/100kms. Save yourself $7,000. I wish someone had told me. I bought this car in June 2023 primarily because it was available without a 15 month wait and it suited my budget. I had read all the reviews by the car experts but here are the views from my perspective. You get what you pay for, this applies to the treatment of sales staff when buying and lack of induction when purchased. I was told I would have someone spend an hour with me showing all the nuances of the interactive screen. In reality it was 10 mins enough to get me home. I still can’t find everything it’s meant to do. There is heaps of room in the interior, the rear especially, I asked why and the answer was “they are built for Uber drivers that carry passengers”. To date there has only been me in the car. The rear shelf in the boot is far too low and because it’s hard is a pain to lift up every time you want to put things in the boot.. I have taken it out. The tinniness of the car really worries me in the event of an accident, airbags can only do so much. The duco has already marked and I had it polished with ceramic polish it’s parked under cover and doesn’t spend hours sitting parked outside. Plugging in my mobile to access the GPS and answer my phone, was really annoying me then remember to unplug it when leaving the car. My BIL has since bought me a wireless connector for Christmas and I’m much happier. I have always had a car that had an independent GPS and phone connection system. The seats are really, really bad, hard, not deep enough and the fins at the side do not hold you in the seat so I find myself sliding sideways, always to the left, I hate to think what would happen to my back in an accident. One is limited when wanting to slide the seat back as the runners are not long enough. I need the seat high as my knees are bad but when high it limits the space between the person and the steering wheel to exit the car. The drive around town is fine, would not enjoy a long trip. It’s a hard ride, the suspension is not made for Australian Roads, it feels every bit of uneven bitumen which in Melbourne there’s heaps of , cabin noise is loud and when you hit a speed hump or pothole it jars the car so badly it sounds as though you’ve blown the tyres. The nose of the car is very long so when turning a corner, you must turn extra wide, or your rear wheels hit the curb. I am a tight driver and not all over the road and find this annoying. It’s also a pain to park as the nose invariably is hanging over the end of the bay. The car sits too high up to see curbs or small things low on the road so you are constantly pressing buttons to turn on cameras. That sounds weird but it’s really annoying not to be able to see the edge of the lane when exiting a shopping centre car park. I have never experienced this with another car and I have had a number of SUV”s Fuel consumption is not the advertised 5.0 lts /100km, the best I’ve got is 7.2lts/100kms, but you expect to give a little leeway not this much. The service manager told me the car will only do what you ask it to do. I’ve since with the help of my BIL figured out why. The truth is the service staff were not a full bottle on how to use the electrics on the car. The infotainment centre is fiddly and it’s always press an arrow to go to another screen, some settings do not stay as set when you turn off the car you loose them, am quite sure they could do better. Its isn’t the most powerful car I’ve driven it struggles to get up a hill. Would I buy again, not the Jolion, the H6 is a better buy for the same price if you buy petrol, which would suit someone that doesn’t do a lot of kms. I see lots of Havals around so people are happy to overlook some annoying things for the price.
Good car with out the huge price tag – Love the design the I fell in love with the front grill, interior looks modern and well set out, safety features are very good, drives well we took ours to Brisbane and back and I was a smooth drive. Only bad thing is the car does not have the best acceleration. Show details
Greatest 30k car – Great value for money. Good small family SUV. Good looking inside and outside. Great 1.5T engine. Don’t compare 30k with 90k but it’s is best car you can buy if you want to spend no more than 30k. We loved our golden black Julian lux. A solid car with a lot of features. Show details

What I hate most of adjustments for radio, heater air con etc is on infotainment system interface is more than frustrating I want to throw it out the window. There is no key entry on driver passenger side so when you have a handful of parcels to put them safely in car, I usually get run over trying to get in drivers side, yes I could use the keys but I always have my car on only open drivers doors because I travel on my own. Apart from a few niggles some say it hasn’t got enough grunt well I’ve had 3 speeding tickets that’s enough for me I’m trying to be a good girl now. But I love this car, it’s a great car, easy to park I have the lovely pale blue.
Air con didnt turn ON – Can't turn On my Air con from touch panel. I have seen my touch panel is working properly but still Air con still OFF even Fan as well. Any reviews on this issue.
One star is too high – Rough to drive, slow acceleration, the car materials had awful strong chemical smells along with clunky gear changes. Terrible creepy camera watching you drive the whole time. I never want to be in a Haval again. Show details

Jolion is the Hybrid (PHEV) with an amazing response in fuel economy. I chose to go for the Ultra Hybrid with no regrets.
Pros:
- Decent space (we are a family of 3) - Incredible and accessible technology (there is barely something in the market to compare) - Outstanding safety features - Easy and joyful driving - Versatility in changing driving modes (Sport, Eco and Normal) and energy recovery - Very stylish - Cameras to look at everywhere - Great value for money - 7-year Warranty and 5-year roadside assistance - 5-star ANCAP rating - Tracking my energy production and consumption in a live mode - Plenty of options for driving... even self-driving if you are careful to manage it.
Cons:
- Not about the car itself... the dealers seem a bit outdated in their premises. Whilst they have plenty of stock in Australia, delivery is a bit random when living in regional areas.
I have seen lots of comments about the safety and sudden breaks... Yes, this might happen IF YOU change the settings of brakes and sensors to be VERY SENSITIVE. People might experience the same kind of issues with ANY Subarus. The fatigue sensor is NERVE-RACKING when enabled, but I just turn it off and that's it, working great for me.
The moment I change all settings to be less sensible and more into my driving style, it's perfect.
It's a really comfortable and fun car to drive, sufficient space, great fuel economy.
I must confess I wanted the H6 after I tried it, but I did not feel ready for a bigger car than the Jolion.
Not a single regret.
Fantastic value for money – The Haval Jolion Hybrid is an impressive luxury SUV that offers a range of features and a comfortable ride. The car's hybrid engine offers great fuel economy, and the spacious interior and assisted steering make it an excellent choice for long drives. One of the standout features of the Haval Jolion Hybrid is its price point. At $40,000 for the… Read more
luxury hybrid version, this car is an outstanding value for all the features it offers. The quick delivery timeframe is also a key selling point, as there are no other hybrids on the market that can be delivered in such a short timeframe. While some may scoff at the idea of buying a Chinese-made car, it's worth noting that multiple components of almost every car on the market are derived from China. Prospective buyers should approach test driving the Haval Jolion Hybrid without the negative perceptions of Chinese-built cars. Ultimately, the car should be judged on its individual merits, such as its impressive features, price point, and delivery timeframe, rather than any preconceptions about its country of origin.
The assisted steering on highways is another impressive feature of the Haval Jolion Hybrid. It's not intrusive, but it genuinely feels helpful, making long drives feel more comfortable and less taxing. The ride is also comfortable, and the spacious interior makes it a great option for families or those who often transport large items.
However, there are a few drawbacks to consider. The excessive sound of the indicator can be annoying, and the inability to set a default drive mode can be frustrating. Additionally, when taking slight bends at speed while using adaptive cruise control, the car tends to brake more than necessary. The minimum distance from the car in front also seems just a tad too far away, making it possible for someone to cut in front. That said, the braking isn't jerky or sudden when someone does cut in front, and it slowly adjusts the distance.
Finally, it's worth noting that the Haval Jolion Hybrid may not be the best option for those living in areas with steep inclines. During a test drive up to Mount Baw Baw in Victoria's snow region, the car struggled with four adults in the last 5km of the drive. The revving of the engine was concerning, almost like it was stuck in a particular gear.
In conclusion, the Haval Jolion Hybrid is an excellent choice for those looking for a feature-packed, luxury hybrid SUV at an outstanding price point of $40,000. With its multitude of impressive features such as the assisted steering, comfortable ride, and spacious interior, coupled with the quick delivery timeframe, this car truly provides exceptional value for money. Although there are a few minor drawbacks such as the excessive indicator sound and issues with driving on steep inclines, the positives of this car far outweigh the negatives. You truly get what you pay for, and for the price, the Haval Jolion Hybrid is a smart and practical investment for anyone in the market for a new vehicle.
Don’t do it – I had the car for two months and I had to sell it before someone hurt themselves. I’m constantly on the road driving different make cars and I found the Haval Jolion the worst car I’ve ever driven. This car should be banned from our roads due to safety reasons. Show details
Lane assist technology that feels like your passenger is grabbing the steering wheel – Very scary feeling when the lane assist just about pulls the steering wheel out of your hands on sweeping curves or on straight roads that have the white lines all crooked. bare in mind the car is off at this time no music nothing, just waiting to go into work! So if i am to leave my car for 8hrs while at work i must get out stright away or leave running untill i decide to get out! Or it will drain my battery! Also option for passanger to adjust volume of music isnt there only driver can do this, aircon controlls take alot of time to get use to and require alot of your attention while driving to get it where you want it, not really safe while driving! You also have to go through all the settings to turn off lane assist every single time u get in! Cruise controll freaks out when taking a corner and will slam on the breaks while half way into the bend! Super dangerous in my opinion! Also spare key is just that a key not even a clicker so u have to manualy unlock the car if u ever needed to use it! Need a cord attached to use android or apple car play and it sometmes it just disconnects for no reson!
Would not have one if I won it in a raffle! – This vehicle is not driver friendly, you need a co-pilot to operate the "infotainment" screen because that is where most of the functions are. required by law not to operate a mobile phone whilst driving because it is a distraction yet this carmaker puts the majority of controls for the vehicle on a touch screen in the middle of the dash. Basic controls for the vehicle should be placed such that they become intuitive for the driver to use without distraction.
Also, the adaptive cruise control is crazy, often swerving the car and braking when approaching and passing painted traffic islands. Must scare the crap out of following vehicles if you don't anticipate this weird behaviour.
The vehicle I am driving is a rental whilst mine is being repaired and unfortunately I didn't get a choice of vehicle. I will be happy to return it when ours is repaired, can't come soon enough!

Nice interior but driving it would turn experienced drivers into frustrated nervous wrecks – This was my daily work vehicle for three months and at first I was happy I got it with so many features driving it would be super comfortable and safe. drive around long corners with medium strip barricades the car applies the brakes something terrible thinking your going to sideswipe a truck or something. There are next to no buttons for air-conditioning and radio in this car which looks nice with the minimalistic look but to turn up or down the fan or temperature settings you have to take your eyes off the road and touch the screen to get through the menu. Lane assist can't be switched off and stay off so If you change lanes and there is a car or wall two lanes over the car will beep every time thinking your going to hit something. If someone drives to close to your bumper in traffic like a motorcyclists rides down beside you, the hazard lights flash as if to warn that motorist happens a bit in traffic. The auto steering lane assist fights you when you go to change lanes even if you have your indicators on. The USB for charging your phone is only accessible onlyvfrom the passenger side. of room in the back however this leads me to my first gripe which is that they stole that extra room from the boot. Honestly, it is likely to be more than enough for most people but I find that after I have put my daughter's pram in there if I want to do even a small shop I am playing a game of Tetris to get everything in.
It does have a few minor eccentricities like how it is "over-enthusiastic" about warning you about everything on the road but fortunately, you can silence most of the bongs and chimes in the settings. The only other real issue I have experienced is that it does have a tendency to be a little jerky during low-speed maneuvering like around carparks but it's one of those things you get used to. Other than that it really is a great car for the money.

Best decision ever (so far) - Best Value for money – Purchased my Havel Jolion few months ago and really happy with the decision. Went to NSW from Victoria for a holiday and enjoyed driving throughout the journey. it is really worth for money you pay and has all the technology that most of the Japanese top of the range cars have. Radar cruise control makes your life so easy on freeways. Great built… Read more
quality inside and out, my only concern is reliability and resale value but if I can drive it for 7 years without a problem I will be so happy with this price.
Have a closer look. (my 6 month review) – Looks bold and more expensive then it is. Excellent build quality and paintwork. Interior is comfortable and roomy. Displays are incredibly clear and work well. Auto Led lights are bright. 5.1 surround stereo with Bose speakers sounds amazing even when loud. Safety Tec is brilliant but took me a few weeks to get use to especially the automated… Read more
driving. You can adjust all settings to suit and turn things off. The engine runs smooth and quiet with no rattles. Set in Eco mode gears change slow. Drive it like a granny local and getting 7.5 litres per 100. Put in sports mode and gears change quick and it goes like a rocket especially after 2000 revs when the turbo kicks in. Make sure you use sports mode when you test drive. You will be impressed. The dual clutch is very engaging unlike my previous CTV gearbox. Gears Change smooth and fast. Hit the paddle shifters to kick back on hills or overtake. Fantastic. It’s very quiet in cabin with little engine noise coming through. Smooth ride on quality Kumho tyres handling bumps and corners well with minimal body roll. Feels very satable and safe at high speed on freeways. Bad points: Blinkers on left hand side and Touch screen icons on left of screen. Does not remeber your air conditioning settings when you turn air off. No glove box light. Only one smart key supplied. This car is clearly well designed and built with care unlike the quality I normally expect from china products. Good warranty with added service like hire car if it breaks down. Not expecting any major problems. Reviews I looked at did not give this car justice. You need to have a closer look and test drive yourself. The jolion is a Jolly good vehicle and price and a pleasure to drive.
value for money, safety features – I purchased Haval Jolion a month ago, I have nothing but positive feedback for this car. cruise control, speed dependant volume stereo and USB audio input. This car is small but captivating. This car has keyless start, hill descent control (HDC).
Surprising quality – I always said i would never buy a Chinese car! As a mechanic with 50yrs in the trade i think i know a wee bit about machinery good and bad and always research anything thoroughly that i buy. So after deciding too purchase a new small Suv i researched everything available in that bracket and the new Jolian stood out for pricing and safety tech as… Read more
standard so i decided to road test one at a dealer. Boy, was i surprised at the build quality of the Haval jolian, chinese car manufacture has reached new heights with these new models. The space inside is impressive, the finish of seats and trim is excellent and apple car play/android auto setup is great. On the road the ride is smooth and quiet, power adequate, the DCT transmission had no sign of low speed jerking that affects some DCTs and the the Tech fitted is unbelievable, maybe expected on a Mercedes but not at this market level. Overall an awesome value for money package, if you are looking for a new small SUV make sure you check out the specs on these and test drive one, best value out there i reckon. And yes i did buy one and don't regret it one bit! Oh and did i mention the 7 year warranty? Check em out.
