Poor quality of manufacture – Bought to be LH opening. Told by salesperson had to change myself. When it arrived did not have holes drilled to change over. Had to hire person to do this. If you market as RH or LH I should have had the option at time of purchasing. Good Guys Salesperson did not care. So disappointed
Loud humming noise from my Haier refrigerator – Nice looking refrigerator and quiet UNTIL the compressor kicks in then extremely loud. I live in a one bedroom apartment and can’t escape the loud humming noise when the compressor starts. It’s so annoying I need to turn of the fridge at the main. Spoke to customer service and sent them a video and there response was **This is normal operation of an inverter compressor**. First and last time that I will be buying anything thing Haier.
A spacious, fine-looking fridge with a couple of annoying design flaws – It's a nice enough looking bottom-mount fridge with better quality internal plastics and finish than most similarly priced competitors we looked at. With lots of space, a functional layout and quiet running when not in 'super freeze/super cool' mode (usually only used when starting from room temp) and easy to use controls, it does what it says on the box..... sort of. There are a couple of issues.
The first issue is the fact that like most modern fridges, it's taller and shallower than the old ones, but unlike others, it has it's fridge door handle at the bottom of the door.... meaning that in order to reach the fridge's top shelves as well as be able to open the door without bending down, you need to be proportioned like an orangutan with enormously long arms and relatively short legs. Otherwise, you'll either open the fridge door from the top corner (as I do at 5'10"), thus leaving hand prints all over it every single time you use it from opening and closing doors or; you'll need to keep a step beside it so you can see/reach stuff at the back of the top shelf (as my mum does at 5'1").
Secondly; there's no ice storage in the freezer. It comes with a tiny ice-tray and nowhere to keep the frozen ice. It's not a big deal and I've put in some shallow tupperware to hold the ice on the top shelf, along with two larger ice trays, but; having something custom fit so as to not waste space would have been a useful inclusion.
Overall, it's a fine product and good value at the price. You just need to decide if the inherent design flaws are things you can live with or not.
