Complete waste of money and a total lack of care. I hired Handovers for my build in NSW expecting a thorough, professional inspection. Instead, they showed up, gave minimal effort, and provided a ridiculously sparse report with only 9 photos to show for it. Feeling uneasy about the lack of detail, I did a walkthrough myself and was horrified to… Read more

find a major structural defect they completely overlooked, not to mention heaps of other minor defects scattered throughout the build. It's a total joke that they charge for this "service." Do not trust them with your biggest investment. Stay away.

The inspector did not check compliance with Australian Standards or the contract, which may not have been part of their service. However, he didnt even bring any basic tools, such as a tape measure or spirit level etc. Basically was just a visual inspection. To be fair he was reasonably thorough at doing a visual inspection. the Final Defect… Read more

Report only listed the remaining Defects and did not provide evidence of the rectified Defects or the quality of work, giving the impression the process serves the builder’s interests rather than the buyer’s. Maybe fine for a cheap visual inspection of an existing property but would not recommend for a new build.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE A JOKE!! Not only is the receptionist outright unprofessional, rude and needs to check her attitude. The receptionist even calls from a QLD number... they don't even have a dedicated ACT location...But the lack of care they put into the inspections is appalling! We had an apartment inspected here in the ACT. [Name… Read more

Removed] came to inspect the apartment smelling so strongly of cigarette smoke it made me feel ill. I'm disgusted by this company and will constantly warn people in ACT to not use them EVER... If I could leave a 0 star review I WOULD...

Money scums – Hello everyone Stay away it’s a scam. 0 rating I booked handovers.com for an inspection for my new house and on every visit, they were giving me a defect list . I was paying them for the visit and I was pushing the house supervisor to fix all the issues however, the builder called me on-site to show me the items. These fraud ppl were sending… Read more

me the same report with different dates on it to get more inspection bookings.

Also, this company has been formed few years ago and day by day the work quality has gone down giving customer pathetic services.

The owner Nick and the staff is very rude and arrogant. I will recommend everyone to do their inspections by themselves and stay away from these scams.

Thanks

Thank you Handovers.com – Thank you Handovers.com for a fantastic detailed inspection on my new property in Doreen, Victoria. From my initial phone call to meeting the inspector onsite, the process was seamless. The inspector was very helpful and knowledgeable and more than happy to explain all defects and what he was inspecting. (I’m very curious)

First Home Inspections – Would not recommend. Total waste of money. Did not do their job for 2nd inspection. Relied on their inspections for the money we paid thinking they would do their job and their so called expertise. Inspect yourself cause they don’t pick up the defects and we had major inside defects. Totally dissatisfied with their service. Would not use. Now it is costing us money to rectify what they didn’t pick up which are blatantly obvious to eye.

You can do a better job yourself than hiring these unprofessionals – We used them when our new build was completed. Staff booking appointment was rude to begin with. The guy who turned up for inspection started the job by praising the building in front of our building supervisor. Isn't this conflict of interest? You have been hired to find errors in their work and you start with all praise for them before you… Read more

begin!

He left many items unmarked that we as untrained normal person could see. We had to point out to him and then he would mark it saying - Oh yeah, that needs to be fixed.

Though we didn't wan to have second inspection but we had paid for 2 inspection together so had to call them. I raised the concerns with manager about the first inspector who apologised and said he would come on second appointment himself with the inspector, but never turned up. They never took note/pictures of the errors they marked on first inspection and my question was - how would you know what has been fixed in your second inspection when you didn't take notes of what were the errors in first inspection that needed to be fixed. Their blunt answer was - that's the way we work.

Second inspector was even worse. We showed him the issues that he or previous inspector didn't pick. Because we had raised concerns after first inspection, this guy noted them all in his second report.

If we can pick these and you as professionals can't, why did we pay you a fee? Don't waste you money on this company and use someone else who are professionals.

Assumptions and defensive – I have utilized the services of this company (www.handovers.com) in 2016 for my house located at SPRINGFIELD LAKES. I am not really satisfied with the inspections performed as I have paid around 400$ for two inspections. The inspection reports did not pick up many items. During our bench top replacement today, we have discovered a big hole to the… Read more

wall next to the kitchen sink in the kitchen area. Attached are the photos. To my surprise, this is not the first item in the list, in 2016 we discovered a big hole under the gas stove that has become a venue for incoming rodents. This was addressed by the builder in 2016. The hole was visible using a torchlight under appliances. When the approached the company today through an email, they have told me one hole was overlooked as it had a cooker during the inspection and another hole was overlooked due to a dishwasher in that place. Cracked benchtops were overlooked as well. When I raised these issues after three years (That's when I found), the company giving reasons and defending the inspections and the quality of work. I don't see any value for the dollars paid (400$ for two inspections).
