Bought 2 vanities and 2 moulded tops with basin. My builder opened boxes then rang to ask if I had seen the tops? The second HN employee told me it was my due diligence to ensure I purchased the correct items; plus since the packaging was damaged the items are not returnable! My builder had to open the boxes to get out the tops thus damaged boxes! I found staff belligerent and certainly not trained in how to de escalate an irate customer! It comes down to whose word is correct, my stating white tops or staff stating I was told only comes in Carrara. There are so many other outlets selling what I wanted white tops so why would I have ever excepted otherwise! This experience has marred the renovations plus added more expense as I will need to now purchase the white vanity tops as the Carrara tops do not suit the bathroom nor my vision of my first and last completed home.
We ordered 14 boxes of tiles from a clearance line in the Bundall tile store only to be supplied with 14 individual tiles 3 weeks later. Despite clarifying that the ticketed price was per sqm when we ordered this was confirmed twice by the manager who told us that the required amount of 12 sqm would need to be increased to 12.6 which was 14 boxes… Read more
we had no issue with this and paid and confirmed the order. They are now refusing to fulfil the order and have refused to confirm their position in writing.stating he would respond to fair trading if he had to . The manager admired to the mistake over the phone but was rude and dismissive, stating we could pay for the extra amount at a reduced cost of $1600 or take a refund. Leaving us with no feature tiles to complete the renovation and a potential 3 week wait to re order a new selection. Not the sort of behaviour I would expect from what I thought was a reputable Australian owned company.

Cannot recommend buying your bathroom renovation item from this store. Vanities and Bathtub wastes delivered wrong, bathtubs delivered damaged. Slow and stroppy on the recovery. from HNA. When it was delivered, we noted that the vanities were wrong (customization not done). Harvey Norman wasted two weeks before they got the right order details to Timberline. This threw our project schedule into disarray. Staff and management at HNA proved not very competent and difficult to deal with when something goes wrong. Communication is unreliable, with calls frequently not being returned, and if one staff member is on an RDO, or leaves employment, everything stalls. The wastes provided for the bathtubs were wrong, too. This was only discovered when the plumber wanted to install them, requiring an extra callout at our cost. HNA only reluctantly agreed to cover that cost in the end. The replacement waste supplied by HNA, however, was wrong again. Two different plumbers independently confirmed that they would not work with our bathtubs. HNA insisted they would fit and would not cover the third callout for the plumber to eventually install the bathtub with a waste that we ourselves sourced. The bathtubs were delivered with damage. We had left them packaged for a couple of weeks to keep them protected, so only discovered the damage when they were unpacked for installation. HNA then criticized that we hadn't checked this on receipt, and tried to blame us for the damage. They only reluctantly offered a small compensation (<10%) to cover for the damage. Fair Trading NSW was powerless to achieve a better outcome than the bare minimum that HNA offered as compensation for this poor performance. HNA full well knows that taking them to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal would incur costs for the claimant that would be well in excess of the amount in dispute, which motivates them to minimize what they offer when things go wrong.
The only real answer as a consumer is to avoid Harvey Norman overall, which is what we will be doing going forward.
We learned that other bathroom suppliers have far superior customer service and similar pricing (e.g. Hardware and General Brookvale, MyHomeware North Rocks), at least matching the discounts that Harvey Norman is offering. Do not fall for the discounts and specials with gift cards, either. The gift card we received as part of the deal has only one month to expiry, which puts a lot of pressure on the receiver to spend in a short time period at a retailer with usually overpriced goods.

re-training if you are to retain your customers. We used 100% Harvey Norman product range when we built our house, but will never return as a result of this experience! We found our solution at Sydney Tap and Bathroomware, 1263 botany Road mascot, which is a family run business focused on customer service.

This Store has sunk to a new low – Bought my whole bathroom fit out at this store. Caesar Stone tops were not only the wrong colour, they were damaged. I asked for Black, then they arrived Gray, but were told a dark brown colour was sent....no communication at all. The shave cabinet mirror was cracked. No response, no validation. And then, when I needed a small small item (a back plate for a mixer tap) they wanted to charge me full price and re purchase the mixer tap as well. No customer service. I sent a letter of feedback after a very unsatisfactory phone call with a certain staff member (and I HAVE NEVER had to give a negative review on anything before this), the reply I received was perfunctory and did not even open to a discussion for resolution or responsibility. Luckily their Suppliers, who were made to deal with me, were professional and friendly in their service. I will not shop here again.
Customer Service from James at Campbelltown store was brilliant! – I have had a problem with a plug I purchased from Harvey Norman for a while. find one that I could use, but got it to the store for me to collect and replace at no charge. Each time we spoke he spoke he was well spoken and really has great product knowledge. I would highly recommend him to anyone for all their bathroom needs.

experience very personal and content with the products we bought.. How ever another customer service officer rudely yelled out to me and my husband to keep our kids quiet while she was on the phone. Her name is [name removed]... what disgraceful customer service she displayed to the individual on the phone and to us .. That was very humiliating.. My kids are young. I understand they were making noise.. but how dare she yell at us to keep quite.. such unprofessional customer service.. I'm pretty sure we are not the only customers that took our kids in the store.. she really needs to be trained with professional customer under pressure.. extremely satisfied with the bulk discounts I got from them as I bought all my bathroom, laundry, kitchen and toilet fixtures from them. I used their services for an owner builder House Project recently. The review relates to an issue found with one fibreglass kitchen sink upon installation that there was a minor crack and chip in one corner. The Store was informed straightaway and photos were sent to the supplier concerned. All the way, Harvey Norman staff were helpful and followed up with my emails. However, the Supplier declined to replace the costly sink, as they said that the issue is not covered by warranty. I was shocked to hear this as my Budget did not allow me to purchase another sink and I would not have been able to replace the sink to a cheaper model as the kitchen benchtop stone had already been cut. My only option would have been to glue the top corner back and then use it as it is. That would have spoiled the look of the whole kitchen. Speaking to Harvey Norman again, the Staff considering I had made a massive purchase from them, agreed to replace the Sink as a goodwill gesture. A new sink was delivered in a couple of weeks and the Kitchen looks perfect now. Not only Harvey Norman came to my rescue, their service was exemplary. There might be cheaper competitors in the market, but the service far exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't mind using them again as they are a source for the latest ideas on any home building project and the products are high quality and upmarket.
