Lane Assist Technology – One reason for buying this vehicle was the technology. Test drives work fine because they are short journeys. 6 months now the lane assist goes off when you are 2 feet away. When you deliberately cross a lane the technology does not alarm. Going up a hill the technology gets confused and the lanes cross over and alarms go off everywhere. Asked for… Read more

a recalibration with the dealer - there is nothing they can do. Only option turn off lane assist technology. A shame because that was one reason for the purchase. GWM time to apply recalibration to the lane assist technology

Value for money! – Ok first off the Haval is a great value for money option vs Japanese brands that are highly expensive. The Haval comes with a seven year warranty which is another additional bonus. The Havel H6 has loads of features but for me and other owners I have been approached by say some of the features are definitely not designed for the Australian open… Read more

roads when it comes to cruise control. Features like emergency lane keeping which in my own personal opinion can be quite challenging especially with the cruise control can tend to create problems when traveling on open roads it will reduce itself to low low speeds that are not even the speed limit particularly on bends this can cause a lot of problems for others traveling behind you. Another issue is all the beeping. This can become very annoying on long trips away and after again speaking with other owners they also conclude those very same issues. I have been told this can only be cancelled out each time you turn the car on. It would be nice if the dealership had the ability to delete these from the intelligent driving system. If anyone has recommendations on if it is possible to remove - please share. Other than that I have found the Haval H6 a good wagon to drive without any mechanical problems or failures. If you want a lot of technology then this is the car for you. I do get a bit frustrated with the middle gear console unit sometimes thinking you are in D but really still in R, but this is user issue and still getting used to. Otherwise everything else inside is fine again packed with features that are amazingly thorough and thought out.

Amazing car for money, makes other brands look bland – I bought my Haval H6 Lux in August 2023, no issues, done about 10000km, plenty of tech, I turn off assistance tech for a great smooth and quiet drive, 7 year warranty and roadside assistance helps with worry free purchase. Tow trailers no problem I've had 2 tonne loads capabilities is above average, truly recommend this car for the money. Show details

This car is going to cause an accident – We use our Havel for trips to see family and local. We have had many times that the cruise control was on and coming to a bend it just brakes. We nearly had a 4x4 in our boot. Spoke to dealership about this and was told an update would be done on servicing. This didn’t happen and was told it was a problem but they might maybe soon looking at a software change but no idea when so we said that there was a function on the car we can’t use safely. Show details

Haval H6 Ultra – This vehicle was purchased August 2021 and has run smoothly ever since. The car is used by me about 5 times a week for shopping, picking up people and towing a trailer. While around the city, it is not the most fuel efficient vehicle, but on the highway it gets around 6.7l/100kl, which for the size and weight of the car is great. Talking… Read more

about size, it's got a huge boot space, and when the seats are folded forward, it's massive. Pros. Great ride, all the up to date electronics, lots of room inside, comfortable seating. It even has sensors in the tyres to let you know the tyre pressure and temperature. Lots of power. 7 year warranty. Touch screen. Too many features to list. Cons. The rotary gear selector. Fuel usage around the city. Some features of the cruise control.

Engine replacement 25,000km – Oil pump failed and engine destroyed. Only serviced via dealership. Only 25,000km on engine. Haval customer service non existent. No phone number to call. I emailed 4 times with no reply just automated reply 3 business days. Was left without vehicle whilst getting repaired as no one replies to emails or have a contact number. Is it worth the cheap price on long run? Show details

Love it … goes like the clappers … – Price Warranty 5 years road side assist Great drive All the reviews were based/compared on cars 20G more expensive… have been a staunch Tiguan man for the past 16 years … loved them… however at what they are charging and the service fees … you’re joking … very happy with my Haval H6 … and they look good Show details

The car is fantastic, but – I have the Haval H6 GT Lux, I know that there is a problem with the Automatic cruise control, has anyone having any issues with the Bluetooth mic, I can hear people crystal clear, however they can hardly hear me, it’s like I’m dropping out and I’m breaking up with they try to hear me.. Show details

Microsoft Clippy on wheels – The Haval Jolion H6 is somewhat of an enigma. As a transportation device it is "fine". Bit noisy on the road, bit thirsty but mostly harmless. Think of it like a washing machine with a slightly unbalanced leg. But annoying, but close the door to the laundry and it will wash your clothes without without walking out the door. Where this car/top… Read more

loader really struggles though is in the software. Imagine if "Microsoft clippy" was permanently installed in your car and programmed by your mother on Guy Fawkes night.

The lane assist resets to on every time you stop the car. The cruise control slows the car down by 20ks per hour every time you turn a corner...by using the breaks! There is no gear stick, it has been replaced by a dial which is mostly fine untill you realise that there's four setting as opposed to the 3 indicated.

Then there is the scolding. You've been a very naughty human if you look sideways, speed up too fast, move a little to the left or use one hand on the steering wheel. The car will beep and the infotainment screen will light up with a message telling you to pay attention.

This message can only be removed by confusingly hitting the "yes" or "no" buttons on the screen - ironically taking attention away from your driving.

The whole experience is maddening.

That plus the anti android Bluetooth, wiper blades that can't be raised of the windscreen, speakers that sound like they're underwater and uncomfortable seats make this top-loader best left in it's box.

Great value – Purchased mid 2021. No problems yet, althogh only driven it 8,000 ks. My only complaint is I would like a tilt adjustment on the bottom seat squab(?). Tows a small 12 foot caravan ok , very well in fact and no problems fitting electric brakes. ( mechanic who fitted brakes said to turn off lane assist to stop any "wobbles" occurring.) Slept in… Read more

back when I had to catch an early flight. ( folded back row ,foam mattress..no problems) Very happy with car and service. PS.. If Chinese haters threw out all their Chinese stuff, they would be walking around an empty house naked !

Strange clicking noise back left boot door – I bought my car in August 2021 brand new. Within 3 months a strange noise (like the boot door is not secure) started to appear. I spoke with the dealer and he said a similar owner was complaining about the same noise. Couldn’t figure out the issue so I just have to live with it. I also HATE the cruise control— slows down immediately and ‘takes… Read more

UPDATE — I got the clicking sound fixed. It was in the back seat left where the seat clicks into the frame.

Beautiful car to drive – Purchased recently. H6 lux 2017. The features are outstanding. Was $35k brand new, i paid fraction of that. Very impressed with power, stylish tan interior. Plently of leg room for growing kids. Boot space is fairly good for size of the car. Take off does lag but you get used to it. Brakes are spongy but doesn't affect driving. Very impressed and happy with it and seems to be a headturner too. Show details

What a piece of rubbish – Car purchased from local dealer 4 weeks ago against warnings from few people against dealer and the Haval brand, from day 1 plenty of trouble * Issue with cruise control dropping speed suddenly by 10 to 15 klms on anything but the gentlest bend in the rd, many other people experience this, software update done and only minor improvement * issue… Read more

Great value, no complaints, sick of people bagging this vehicle – Heavy household use, garden soils, stones etc, daily yearly service, belt tensioner, and universal joint. Tyres great, lasted 70k, lights not overly brightrides well fully loaded, not so good unloaded, but it is a twin cab, so to be expected. Show details

h6 lUX PRO'S N CON'S – Purchased Haval H6 Lux in april 2020 from local Haval GWM dealer, test drove the H6 before purchase. We were inpressed by the finish detail and overall quality for our money. guys so technologically advanced this was not thought of. Only other issue is the doey take off's, push your foot down from stopped, and 1-2 second delay, then it takes off leaving your head in the back seat.

Warranty issues from day 1 – Buyers be aware, endlessly battling with head office over issues that should be covered under warranty. Having to go all the way to VCAT and ACCC to get minor things fixed. Would I buy again NO WAY!!! Show details

Awesome but fault straight after left dealership! – I just bought a brand new 2020 Havel H6 Lux. The dealership to purchase from was fantastic - very happy there. The car itself is beyond amazing for the specs - which I why I moved from seven years of driving German cars to this - after swearing I would never, ever buy a Great Wall car. So all good there - thrilled. In fact, the new Ultra model… Read more

arriving with the same spec (plus a few extras) will be $6000 more.

However, on driving home from the dealership on a highway I heard a funny sound towards the back for a few seconds. When I arrived home, I was showing the car to my kids, and the back passenger door doesn't open from the inside. It's busted, and it's not the child lock either. So disappointed - have to take it one and a half hours away in 10 days to a service centre to get it fixed. Far out! It left the dealership with this fault!

So overall, I'm thrilled with the value, but let's face it, you don't expect a fault like that on DAY ONE. I knew I was taking a gamble...

Update - February 2022 - be very, very wary of the bluetooth in this model, as mentioned by other reviewers. The sound quality is beyond atrocious and people think you're yelling or can't hear you as it's muffled. I would never have bought this car knowing that. When I ask about it at services they check and say it's fine. It's absolutely not.

Don’t buy! Beware!! Worst experience ever – I purchased a 2017 H6 Lux with 39,000kms for $22,000 which was a straight trade with my trade in. I got a bunch of extras with my trade in money. Window tinting, tow bar fitted and floor mats. I will admit I loved my car until in 45,000kms on the dot it lost acceleration. Wouldn’t go further then 60kms and was so dangerous. Pulled over and… Read more

customer service was appalling. Was towed to nearest service centre. 1 week later was told it was a faulty cam phase sensor and it was all fixed (all still under new car warranty until aug 2022). Picked up the car, was so glad to have my baby back and 2 hours later it did it again on a busy freeway. Towed back to service centre.... have been dealing with Haval head office for 6 weeks in total now with no idea what’s wrong with my car. I have finally suggested to refund me but will only give me the purchase price of the car (NOT THE EXTRAS) this decision is pending review and can take 21 days!! I haven’t even been offered a replacement H6 Lux in any other year model. I am extremely upset and feel like I have lost a lot of money and to be honest am scared to buy another car in any brand. I have lost all faith.
