Huge cost to repair – HAYMES QUICKPAVE GARAGE FLOOR paint. Looks great until you drive on it with a stone in your tyre tread, after 12 months it has basically peeled off where we drive in and out of the shed, especially where you turn your steering wheel. Do not waste your money and time, now I have to remove all of it and start again, will cost me thousands.
Very ordinary paint – Read the reviews on this product and bought 15 litres in dark grey. Before painting I sanded most of the old paint off and then used a pressure washer for a final clean. Did two coats, and it looked great. A couple of weeks later and the slightest graze will lift the paint off! Very poor adhesion. The concrete was dry before painting and is an internal garage with no vehicle traffic other than bicycles. Show details
Very good product – I applied 2 coats of this product to my dull, boring courtyard 6 years ago and the end result was amazing; really happy. I spent a lot of time on preparation of the surface by thoroughly cleaning with a high pressure hose. I deliberately didn't use any chemical cleaning products, as I was unsure if a chemical reaction might occur with the paint.… Read more
It now needs to be recoated but only because the paint has worn off in few heavy traffic areas. It is mostly still intact and has withstood periodic cleaning with a high pressure hose, wear and tear from moving outdoor chairs on the surface and a lively, energetic dog. I am planning to paint my garage floor and small driveway with the same product so I hope the formula is still the same.
Haymes Quick Pave day 1 – After reading a lot of poor reviews on Berger Jet Dry, I decided to go with the Quick Pave. Today is day 1, October 2019, so time will tell if I made the right call. For approx 100m2 I used 15litres. The second coat I added 1 x 80g jar of their anti slip powder, which worked out perfectly. Non skid and not harsh under foot. Recommended would… Read more
have been 2.5 jars, so I am glad I used only a minimal amount. The area is around the house and had been previously painte with about 20% missing, the other paint seemed to still be OK. Prep was a full sand down with a hired industrial orbital sander. Not sure if that was the best move,as it scuffed but not as aggressive as I had intended (40 grit). All went well and paint rolled on as expected. I am just righting this as there werent any reviews out there. I will update this in the future after some wear and tear. May 2020 - no paint has peeled, so I think I used the right paint, but early dys I suppose.
