Navigator Pro has been an amazing cleaner, does a great job of cleaning coverage of the pool. Purchased V-Flex upgrade kit for it because some bearings got a bit tight after 8 years of operation. DO NOT Buy this upgrade kit, it is absolute garbage!!! The bearings in the bearingless system collapsed in just over 1 year of operation, these bearings… Read more
go on the v-flex mechanism, both wore through the garbage bearing retainer plastic. Picture of this included, it looks like some employee went home and 3D printed these with extremely bad filaments. This upgrade kit is stupidly expensive so do yourself a favour and do not do it.
Poor Design For Certain Pool Finishes – Its normal "shoes" (two types) will not grip my marble sheen (70000 litre) pool finish (6 yr s since resurface) so I have had to use the cork "shoes" (not intended for concrete pools) at approx $50 a set which wear out fast ( replace every 4 months). It had a warranty fix as it stayed down one corner of the deep end after 2 Years of use which… Read more
its now doing again (18 Months later and outside warranty). Aust Distributor said re replacement/refund talk to the Brisbane pool shop you bought it from- who gave me a blank stare when I asked about options given its poor and expensive performance. On the plus side when it did cover the whole pool surface it was quite effective- but at the high price of regular cork shoe replacement. Its approx 3.5 years old.
consumer purchase – This pool cleaner does not work at all. I previously had a Hayward navigator pro that was 10 or 12 years old when it broke down. It was perfect. That is why I purchased another one in 2022. This one is a major disappointment. I tried all the instructions in the manual with no results. It does not clean the pool at all. It does not vacuum the… Read more
deep end and gets hung up in in the 4 corners. I spent at least 3 weeks trying to contact Hayward Canada and Pool Supplies Canada with suboptimal results. Customer service at both companies is very poor. I am not sure what the resolution will eventually be, but I am not optomistic. I am very disappointed.
Workhorse! – Have had 2 Navigators, one for above ground and now Inground. Above ground for 13 (took pool down), and the in ground 15+ years running 12 months. It’s a workhorse and easy to trade out parts that get worn down. Show details
cheaply made rubbish – ive had this for 2years 11 months and needed a gearbox replacement when I bring it home from the repair I go to place it in the pool and the top handle falls off Show details
Great pool cleaner but parts expensive – This is without doubt one of the best pool cleaners I have ever had. Cleans the pool quickly and picks up large debris. Was faultless up until about 18 months old, then we had to start replacing a few parts , and that’s where it gets expensive. 3 years on and the latest part to fail is the plastic handle on the top. The cheapest one I can get is… Read more
$195 ( retails for $230). A rip off when a brand new complete unit is less than $700. I can buy a cheaper unit for a 3rd of the price and get a new one every year, will work out cheaper.
OMG , Halleluyah – i have a fibreglass pool , 8 x 5 m 1-1.8 deep. When i bought the pool included was one of the first generation cleaners from Hayward, i don't remember which one , but i do remember that it seemed to work. after seveveral years and what i consider died of old age , i never replaced it . 12 months ago i decided to get another Cleaner and went with… Read more
the Zodiac T3 , based on cost and reviews. My advice is DONT, Complete rubbish. So i went back to Hayward new Navigator Pro V Flex , and OMG , Brilliant, Brilliant Brilliant. I feel like the world just got better. Really this cleaner is fantastic, Pool is clean again always. Bought it fro AquaTune in Adelaide and thanks to Warwick for his help.
Hayward Navigator Pro - May as Well not use a cleaner at all then – Since day one and I have emails to prove it, my Navigator Pro has not worked and when it did, the plastic wings on the side scratched the hell out of the bottom of my pool - just the bottom because clearly this is not designed to worry about the sides of your pool! It never cleaned the sides. It has damaged the bottom of my pool. For the past… Read more
3 years I've had nothing but trouble with it and the people who sold it to me and Hayward themselves don't want to know about it. I suggest you don't waste your money on this brand.
Highly recommended pool cleaner – I had the Zodiac V8 for 2 years. I had 4 warranty claims in that period and given it was out of warranty when it broke down the fifth time, I decided to switch brands altogether. I came across the Hayward V-flex Pro though a friend and bought it in August 2017. I have a 20 metre eucalyptus gum tree hanging over my pool which comes with several… Read more
issues when you have an inground concrete pool immediately below with Sulfur Creasted Cockatoo's that invade the tree on a daily basis and bite off the ends of branches that inevitably fall into the pool. I am astonished at just how efficient this pool cleaner is and how much leaf and twig matter it is able to suck up without ceasing up which occurred almost daily with my last pool cleaner. I was shocked at what it had collected when I opened the skimmer box to clean it out. I can only compare this pool cleaner with my previous one and there is no comparison. I highly recommend this cleaner. Excellent!!!
Terrible doesnt work. People save your money – I made a big mistake buying a nav pro totally like driving down us19 and throwing your money out the window. Would not recommend anyone on this planet to buy one....Save your money. Now they say I have to right 50 word to except. I van go on all night telling people to not buy one because they suck.. Great Value – Our excellent pool maintenance company provided a loaner for us to evaluate and after a month I decided to purchase one as it is an excellent product and completely cleans the 40' irregular shaped pool without a problem. I wanted a unit that operated on the suction side (no booster pump) and found this to be an unbeatable unit at the price. I would have given the Hayward Navigator a 4.5 or 4.75 if that was an option. The best pool cleaner yet – Our trusted pool shop owner recommended the Hayward Navigator and gave me a floor model to trial for a week, after which I bought one. Based on the first six months of use, this is far and away the best cleaner we've had. It's quiet, simple in construction and easy to clean, travels around the pool quickly, has great suction and does an… Read more
outstanding job of cleaning the walls and waterline. It has no problem with small leaves and berries (which we have lots of), but occasionally chokes on a palm frond; when this happens, undoing one screw lets you lift out the bottom panel and remove the culprit. The price was $A450 without hoses (the hoses from our unlamented Polaris ATV fit perfectly). I'd recommend the Hayward to any pool owner.
navigator is a very good assitant to pool maintance – the navigator is very good at covering the whole pool also climbs the walls well easy to store and you can leave it all day in the it does have parts that do need replacing such as the rubber feet and side flaps we have been using it for 8 years now and are happy with the result covers the whole pool
