Heinz Nurture Gold+

Terrible – I tried this formula for my baby as the one we normally use sold out and after a day of using switched straight back to Karicare gold plus, she was so unsettled pulling her legs up in pain! And constipated. Also smells gross and leaves loads of powder residue on bottle! never again Show details

So far so good – I dont want to jinx it by writing this review but i thought might as well post a review as it might help other parents out there like us... well to cut the long story short, we started off with s26 gold from the hospital and then moved to karicare plus within two weeks of coming home.. karicare seemed ok so we went through a whole tin but she was… Read more · 1
struggling to do her poo and it would happen every 4th or 5th day... finally after a night of constant struggle where she went through hell and very smelly wind i decided to try heinz nurture after reading the good reviews... went and bought the gold edition because it had a mention of the only formula with digesti plus and so forth.. we are now onto our 2nd tin and she does a poo regularly now.. every day (worst case every 2nd day) without much struggle.. the only thing is the poo is green in colour and on calling up the mid wife helpline they said some formula milk (including the heinz nurture) is known for making the poo green so there's nothing to worry.. our baby (she is 1.5 months now) is sleeping well and seems to be happy (touch wood)...
Highly recommended, only formula that makes my baby regular – My baby had a slow/ sluggish bowel since he was born (breastfeeding and formula). The first 11 weeks we tried: NAN HA, S26, Bellamy, Novalac Gold and Karicare with no success to stimulate his bowels (he only pood once a week- I had to use laxatives and enemas to make him go). I was at my wits end because by the third day he would get so irritated… Read more
and would just cry and cry. As suggested by a neighbour, we tried Heinz Nurture Gold and within two to three days he made his first poo all my himself! I was so excited. It has been two weeks since starting this formula and he now poos every second day.
Pro:
- Tastes nice (I always try each brand of formula)
- Cheaper than popular brands (around $18AUD)
- No vomits
- Frequent bowel movements
Cons:
- Harder to find (not sold in supermarkets eg: Coles & Woolworths due to low popularity). I could only find these at some chemists (eg Chemist Warehouse) and online pharmacies. Inexpensive Hard to find in stores
Recommend heinz nature gold better than Nan Ha pro, s26,karicare gold – All babies are different but this was my experience, i hope it will share to mums who have same problems. For my first baby, i just grabbed the s26 gold as all family, friends had used this brand for their babies. S26 ( made in singapore) was good until my baby about 6 months then she got constipation, so i changed to KARICARE gold ( made… Read more
in new zealand and australia) and happy as the poos get watering, and had her bowle everytime she finished the bottles, poor my girl. i thought it was good until my baby 1 year old and half , i realised she did not put on weight, and because of bowling every time after drinking her bottles
Then i chose Nature gold ( made in new zealand and australia) was my last option because it was cheaper, and i thought it was not as good as s26 or karicare but i had to try this, then after 1 tin i sticked with this products. The smell was nice, my toddler at around 1 year and half was happy, drink more bottles, no constipation, the poos was nice and soft, not watering....i was like, this was i looked for, and until now, nearly 3, my girl still happy with this.
The thing is, it is only chemistwarehouse or some places selling this products, even heinz nature gold 1 is made in australia but hard to find.
So when i first moved to melbourne, i could not find it, i bought s26 gold for my girl again, still constipation, so i need to add around 10ml extra and it works fine for her. But i think, older will get easier, so i just buy whatever they sell in the market. If constipation i add extra 10 ml, if watering poo, i put less 10 ml extra, and i am so proud of me, it works for the 3 years old.
My second baby, i breastfeed and also feed him the Heinz Nature gold, the newborn had yellow and skicky poos, and put on weight like 200grams to 300grams every weeks, i was like, i wanted him to get fatter...and was silly me, after review for NAn Ha Pro 1, i bought the happy tin home at his 5 weeks old, and in the middle of the second day, i wished i could went out to market to buy the Heinz nature gold again to feed him in the middle of the night...
The reason was:
The milk could not disolve, a lot of little dots like sand on it, ( while heinz nature gold you only needed to move the bottle slowly and the milk was disolved very well, but not shaking) i followed the instruction and even my husband tried to. For the first few feeds, he refluxed and those little dots came out as well, and he was windy, he did not sleep a lot like before, was 4,5 hours straight but only 15 minutes then waked up and cried, and refused to drink the milk, he rather sucked his fingers...i needed to cuddle him, breastfeed him and hold him all day and night to put him on sleep, i think he can sleep because of my breast milk and he got rash when drinking the NAn Ha Pro bottles, not when breastfeed me or with heinz, spewing out after it, unsetle, creaming, pushing me out of him...he was totaly different just for the first and second day of this product. So now, i am waiting for the morning so i can go to chemist warehouse to by the Heinz nature gold back for my 5 weeks old baby...
This was silly because of changing another formula.
So Nan Pro 1 made my baby - spew out, unsettle, got rash, green poos, sleep less, not interested on this formula, pushing me out like ' dont touch me'.... Need to shake for a little while but milk does not smooth and disolve, a lot of little thing like sand...
S26- need to add extra 10 ml ( but you can not do this to newborn baby, only for toddler over 9 months - 1 years)
Karicare gold - take off 10 ml less and not for newborn or baby under 9 months.
Heinz Nature gold 1- follow the instruction, not shaking the milk, only move geltle or it will have bubbles and no good for baby stomach.

Positive reviews
no issues with this formula – We've had no issues with this formula. It is easy to prepare, our little one seems to enjoy it just as much as a bottle of breastmilk, and we've seen no side effects. Was recommended by our pediatrician. We're now using the stage 2 formula and have also had no problems with that. Only nuisance is it does not seem to be available at major supermarkets just chemists.
Fed my four babies well with no complications. Satisfied babies and pocket – Tried other products and my children had problems with wind and constipation. These products were the more expensive ones as well. Started using this formula in 1999 through to 2007. It serviced 4 babies. I call my 18 yr old a Heinz baby! They make baby food, sauce and veggies so why not?
Great to fill nutritional gaps in toddlers – A great substitute for cows milk in toddlers to help substitute their diet and fill the nutritional gap when they don't eat enough of the right foods. Great for fussy children.
Negative reviews
Very strong fish oil taste! – I bought this from the shelf thinking my two years old toddler is not fuzzy with her milk. She gagged on it and refused to take it! I then tasted it myself...It tastes so fishy! Like the fish oil full of fish odours! No wonder my baby doesn't want it at all ! Please improve the formula and get rid of the fish smell!
So so – While it mixes well and seems to taste more palatable to me ( seems sweeter), my son doesn't swallow it and he lets it pool in his mouth. When he has no choice and drinks it, he wakes frequently in the night, unsettled and kicking in the air (gas) and his farts are atrociously smelly for the next two days - so much so I've joked to friends that I… Read more
need a peg while breastfeeding and I keep needing to check his nappy for poo as the stench seems to permeate his clothes making him constantly stinky until it is out if his system.
While his poo isn't green as others claim, it does make it brown and sticky.
Will convert back to the pricey stuff as he is much more content on it and happily swallows it.
Too frothy, not gentle – Tried this after being on Novalac colic, phased in the change to be subtle and the baby became irritable, crying and fussing, and stopped pooing for 3 days, when she finally did a poo she had to strain which she never previously did and it was explosive and runny and green, previously was mustard colour. It also doesn't mix well, leave clumps… Read more
unless you shake it, and if you shake literally turns into a milkshake, full of bubbles.
Cheap but not good for baby.
Back to Novalac colic!

Not good – It has a metallic after taste. Bought it after reading good reviews about the formula
Decent stuff – Son is very fussy with formula. However this is tolerated well and actually requested by him. There is only one possible gribe, the formula is quite frothy... so much so that it will bubble out of the bottle if you are not careful. I only tend to find this in stock at the chemist, it would be more convenient if it was generally more widely available.
Our Toddlers daytime formula drink – Used this once for the toddler..was easy to prepare however very frothy once made unlike other formula drinks..baby was having constipation and wind. She was struggling to settle to sleep during night. We switched back to Bellamys. Since Bellamys is very popular and out of stock we are keeping this as backup and only for use during the day

Excellent – We have tried Stage 1 and 2 and I can say It was the best formula that we have tried so far. We had tried 2 other brands before switching to this formula but This formula was the only one which was really easy to digest. I will recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good formula.
Perfect for my Bub – The formula is so easy to prepare and the only formula that my Bub enjoys. He does seem to have a poo every now and then after feeds but nothing too unusual. I tried Bellamy as well but he didn't get as full as he would with Heinz nurture. Only negative is that you can't find this everywhere, only discount chemist has this. Would be lovely if local supermarkets like coles or Safeway had it as well.
So far so good :) – So we are almost on day 4 of this formula. My boy was constantly irritable and wasn't sleeping more then 20 mins at a time through the day. He was diagnosed with silent reflux and put on losec. This made some improvement and Night time he would tend to sleep for about 6 hrs before waking again. We switched from novalac reflux to this and in the… Read more
last 3 days he has been less fussy and bringing up large burps halfway through and at the end of the bottle. Not every baby is the same and all formulas agree with a child differently but I am hopeful that this has helped my little guy! My only advice would be when u know something isn't right go with ur gut instinct. Mine was telling me that the novalac was hurting his stomach and since being off it he seems more content with his naps slowing getting longer.
Much better – After our baby kept puking on s26 gold, negative review created on here, switched to nurture easy digest formula and now no puking, no restless baby. It actually smells better like milk vs s26 mechanical factory smell. If I were a baby I would rather drink this product too!! Enjoy
Finally we found the one – We are happy that we finally found the one for our son. he was on Nan but got constipation, then we switch to Nurture normal, still not work. then we give the Nurture Gold a try, and it fix the problem straight away. & it's at reasonable price too. Fingers cross.
Glad we made the switch – I have been mixed feeding my baby and started with s26 gold, everything was fine until she got really constipated that she cries everytime she poops. We then tried Nan HA Gold as our first baby was on it until she was 1yr old with no probs. that was 6yrs ago though. This time, not only did our baby had stinky farts and poos, she also had terrible… Read more
gas making her uncomfortable right after having a few ounces of milk. Then our doctor suggested Nurture or Karicare we opted for Nurture Gold Plus. Ive never seen my baby drink this much. She's more settled and no constipation, fingers crossed. She's only had 2 bowel motions since on Nurture but they were fine. Happy with it but will still keep a close eye.
easy to digest – This formula worked best for my son, once he got used to the bottle he had no problems. It is easy to digest and he was not chucky afterwards. The price is also great when compared to other premium formulas. As a bonus it is made in Australia too.
NOT IMPRESSED! – My baby started from birth with Heinz nurture gold and it was the biggest mistake ever. She screamed all night long, thought she had severe colic, diarrhoea and thought she was an extremely fussy baby. I changed to NAN gold and she completely changed after one bottle, sleeping 5 hours the first night. Don't try Heinz!
Good Formula – We have been using this formula over the past 3 months and it has been great. It's one of two formulas that are made in Australia ( I think that is correct). We seem to use less formula vs Nan or A2 formulas we have also tried. Only minor issue is that it doesn't always dissolve very well. Our baby seems to like it and we have seen no bad health effects at all. Cost about $18/900g, no bad effects on our son doesn't always dissolve very well

Good value of formula and Australian made! – I have tried organic and allergy pro formula for my baby boy. After spoken to a doctor and have decided to give a go on gold formula. Read all the reviews and being recommended by one of my friend, I give a go for this Heinz formula. My baby boy has less wind in his tummy and seem like he is happy with it. I am very happy with the price and it… Read more
is Made in Australia.
The only downside is not easy to get this formula as not many places store it. Reasonable price, and made in Australia Only able to find it at chemist warehouse
Perfect Formula for Newborn & Infant – I do breastfeeding and formula at first, about 50-50 when my daughter, second child, born and now 90 bf - 10 formula. We chosen S26 (NEW - Easy to Digest) at first since my first child had been used that brand, but it makes my daughter 's poo too watery that I had to did washing almost everyday. Then I changed it to S26 Newborn gold, still too… Read more
watery poo, and they are both get unpleasant smell (the formula). My baby also seems didn't like it since she always refuse drinking it for the first few minutes.
Then, I read a good review for Heinz Nurture and went to Chemist and catch up the Heinz Nurture Gold digesti plus! My daughter loves it since the first I gave it to her, and it do has a nice smell.
And its also have a prebiotic and probiotic on it which is very good for baby. My daughter poo also normal now!
What a perfect formula for our baby. Love it! Smells nice, good price, has prebiotic and probiotic on it, has omega on it Not every shop sell it
This formula changed our life! – We had a little newborn that was extremely colicy from the day we bought her home. Most days in the afternoons she would screeeeam and cry for up to 4/5 hours with wind. For us as new parents it was soul destroying, not only to witness our baby go through that pain but for us to go through it too and not being able to do anything to help her. We… Read more
tried everything from a million different bottles to gripe water and then infacol (both also contributed to her upset tummy) til I was at my wits end and decided to change her formula. We were on S26 Gold and I couldn't believe all the bad reviews about it, I came across this formula and the reviews on here and decide to give it a go, well it changed our lives!! Our little baby is a different baby!! She barely gets any wind anymore and if she does it only lasts for about half an hour before it passes through. We immediately saw the difference in how she drank it, how much she drank and how her little body digested it. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is at their wits end like I was trying to find something to help my little baby, and our sanity. I can only hope other people come across these reviews and make the change! One thing I'll mention, the day we changed her to this formula she did scream for hours but the nurse told us that until she passed the old formula out and take on this new formula then her tummy might be upset, but once that passed it was magic!
We also use this formula with Dr Browns anti colic bottles. We found with all the bottles we tried these ones worked the best! They are expensive and tricky to clean but totally worth it.
After 2 months of being fully on formula – My partner got this formula cuz he thought its Heinz, a brand that has been around for so long, so he trusts it. I know... I did asked question about baby's poo being green on this formula, but that was when I combined breastfeeding+formula so I don't know what the culprit of green poo was. But my baby has been on this formula, full time, for 2… Read more
months now, and it's been great. Poo are always good consistency and color. She's never constipated. And it's cheap too compared to other formula brands. It's just a little tricky to find, but I've always seen them in Chemist Warehouse, with a cheaper price too compared to in IGA. I also saw it in Baby Bunting.
It's easy to mix, with a clear instruction, although I do find, if the water is cold (or rather regular) it'll be lumpy and doesn't mix as well as if you use warm water. And don't shake as it gets frothy, I usually just stir. It stinks though. But bub is happy so that doesn't matter :) Baby poo everyday, good color & consistency. Cheap compared to other brands. a little bit difficult to find, but I always get mine from Chemist Warehouse/IGA; it stinks but baby doesn't mind so what the heck :)
Best Formula Yet – We tried so many formulas for our baby after choosing to mix feed with breast and formula due to return to work. Karicare Aptimal gold, Nonalac, s26, Normal Heinz Nurture as we were having troubles with constipation and a little regurgitation. Once bub was one this for a week all those problems went away and we now have a happy chappy baby! Inexpensive, helped resolve issues for baby. Limited stores available to buy from!
Made a difference!! – Used while recovering from cracked/bleeding nipples when home from hospital as attachment was too painful at the time. While expressing I used this brand and bub settled well. Poo was not offensive or caused major issues like some have described. Now I'm exclusively Breastfeeding if for any reason i need to use it again, I would. It's obviously… Read more
not for every child and if there are known allergens present in the product, it would need to be avoided. I have heard similar negative reviews with other brands also. So it's one you'll need to determine from individual exposure. Cost Not so widely available which made finding very difficult

Ovoid like the Plague!! Made our baby's poo turn a runny green toxic colour! – Our baby was on Nan Pro Gold for 5 weeks, and had a bit of Colic so we thought we would try out a different brand of formula. After positive reviews on here, thought we would try out the Heinz Nurture Gold for our baby boy. What a mistake that was!! He was able to keep the forumla down, however his poo has changed from a normal colour/odour to… Read more
a terrible green toxic waste consistency. Smells and looks terrible and runny! We persisted for a week but decided to go back to the other brand as I cant see any point even finishing the tin.
Heinz after care support are useless! They told me to keep persisting with the formula for 3-4 weeks. As if im going to keep feeding my baby this for another 3-4 weeks?! (Maternal childcare nurse told us to only stick with it for 3 days to make a decision.) Funny how baby poo turned back to normal the next day after switching formula again.
Also this formula froths up like CRAZY. It could be sold as a milkshake its THAT frothy. Took friggen 5 mins to mix it each time because we had to swirl it gently, not allowed to shake it or you will be feeding your baby a milkshake of bubbles!
Waste of $16 for the tin, hope this review saves someone from wasting their time, and money with this product. There are better things to feed your child! It was cheap. Works out expensive when you only use 3/4 of the tin because its THAT bad. Bad aftersales support.
Fantastic product – Our baby was on Nan HA for 5 weeks & appeared to show signs of Colic & reflux, after reading a heap of great feedback, we tried Heinz Nuture Gold + our baby is now a totally different child, she is much happier, burps easier, no vomiting, sleeps better, Heinz worked for us & is also very well priced compared to Nan HA which is nearly $5 more??? No wind, burping issues, sleeping better, happier Appears only available from limited suppliers
Not for my Bub – Tried this product due to the generally positive reviews on here. My baby has been on Aptimal Gold + since birth without problems but changed to this due to the contamination scare. Unfortunately my bub has had poos that resemble green toxic waste and boy do they smell since he started on Heinz Nitire Gold. He has no problems drinking it but spits… Read more

Love this Formula, Did wonders for our bub – Our little girl started off on nan ha and got really bad wind and reflux, we changed the bottles we were using to the new pigeon bottles and that helped with the reflux because it was a slower feed. however keeping in mind that we still have her on the ss teat size which is the smallest, she is 3 months and still on it. we were using karicare… Read more
aptamil gold and she was doing ok, still having a little wind. but due to the contamination scare only a couple of days ago, we switched to Hienzs nuture gold, absolutely amazed at how much good its done her, she sleeps through the night, it keeps her full for longer and it doesn't upset her tummy at all. So pleased with this formula, its a god send for us and our little girl. easy on bubs tummy, kept her full and alot cheaper then the other brands harder to find in stores
Nurture best on tummy – My baby now 7 days old was screaming in pain every night with NAN HA gold. As soon as I swapped her to Heinz Nurture Gold, no more tummy pains and she can bring up a nice burb. nurture also fills her up so she goes for linger between feeds. The price is great and Australian made. price, australian made, gentle on tummy. not sold in coles, or Woolworths. only found in chemist warehouse Show reply
Going well for my baby so far – This formula is going well for my baby so far after we had tried two other formula brands & they did not agree with my bub. Have had no trouble with constipation on this formula. It is leaving my baby quite content with no tummy pains. He is a very hungry baby & it seems to be filling him up fairly well. Easy to mix. Reasonably priced. Made in australia.
