Ordered a Hikoki 2 pack nailing pack in June for end of financial year sale. Was told by supplier via Hikoki rep that it would be in store 7th July. As of today 18th July still no product and now told by Hikoki Australia that they are waiting on components to fill the order and won’t arrive until 12th August. Sales rep had poor attitude and… Read more

laughed about the wait time. I find this pretty disgusting service from a supposed reputable company. Will definitely spread the word.

Bad times with Hikoki – Purchased a top of the line Hikoki DV 36DA batt drill 2 years ago, it has had 3 replacement speed controls under warranty and Hikoki say there is no problem, yeah right. Hikoki have been terrible to deal with. The drill has had light use, not heavy trade. I will never purchase Hikoki again. When Hitachi left so did the quality.

The UC 18YRL battery charger has a slight fault The fan does not circulate the air the battery or charging circuits – There appears to be heat damage to the circuit near C11 and D4. I feel certain that if the cooling fan circulated air around the battery stem and electronic circuitry, it would last a lot longer The range of 18 volt Hitachi that I have is considerable. My local Hitachi dealer Seymour Industrial Supplies has UC 18YRK left. I bought his last… Read more

one some three years ago and he is unable to get me another charger as yet. I do not like buying from the internet and I much rather pay more and get personal service.

Poor service – I have brought several Hikoki items and just lately I brought the new metal nail gun and Cut out tool. Applied for my redemption a 5amp battery and what an issue that was, in the end the service that I got resulted in the goods being returned back to Total Tools. The Hikoki tools are a good tool, a few minor issues but over all a good tool, the… Read more

service is another issue. If the company representatives drive you away from doing business then they have a problem, solution - sell the business to someone who will do justice by the tool and name, because you lost me as a customer.

Shame Hitachi/Hikoki have ruined their business in Australia – I have bought Hitachi and more recently Hikoki power tools for most of my life and was quite happy up until the last few years but now am very disappointed in both the quality of their products and their customer service (which is nothing short of appalling). What a shame they now employ the people they do who I would imagine are now ruining many… Read more

years of good work by their predecessors.

I have had serious problems with a hedge trimmer that has a systemic design fault, expensive batteries which die far too early and, more recently, with the little Hikoki blower that they advertise as the most powerful in class (silly me for buying one, Total crap). My experience with their hedge trimmer best illustrates the problem. After it failed, they got me to take it to a service centre and then finally returned to me SIX MONTHS later. Believe it or not, it still hadn’t been fixed (which was obvious by simply pressing the trigger for 2 seconds!) The service manager said he was embarrassed and gave me a Hitachi battery as a goodwill gesture (except that the battery also died a few weeks later)!

However, what really takes the cake is what they call customer service which really is the worst that I have ever experienced. I emailed them recently about my problems four times over a month or so with ZERO response and then rang and left messages for 2 weeks without any response before finally the operations manager wrote me an email which basically said nothing to see here move on, we don't care about your business.

Not sure we Australians should be supporting these people?

Hitachi Made a Webpage Mistake and Terrible Response To This – I needed to purchase a Patio Cleaner Attachment for my Hitachi High Pressure Washer: - Went to the local supplier, Robina Hardware, and ordered the part providing the part number that was on Hitachi's webpage - After two days advised the cost so went to Robina Hardware & paid for the part - Advised by Robina Hardware that the part had arrived -… Read more

Went to pick up the part - It was not the correct part and I was treated by the person at Robina Hardware as a complete imbecile for wasting his time and he said he wished he never had to deal with this type of sale. I felt really bad. I had done nothing wrong. - I checked the Hitachi website and copied the page. Plus I advised Hitachi that their webpage was incorrect and subsequently was advised that the webpage was incorrect. They had put the incorrect part number on their page!!!!!! WHAT, WHAT, THIS IS A MAJOR SUPPLIER THESE SUPPLIERS DO THIS? - I took the page back to Robina Hardware to show the person that made me feel like an absolute imbecile that it was not me but the website that was incorrect. - After five trips finally recieved the part. But no apology. Will never ever buy Hitachi again.

Hitachi fragile bit, terrible company, terrible service. Miserable scrooge – After using my Sutton drill set for 10 years I decided to treat myself to more modern technology and splurged on a Hitachi 120 bit drill/driver set to match my Hitachi hammer drill/driver which was very good indeed. I am in the building industry and have owned De Walt and Milwaukee, but this was light/strong. I also bought a big Hitachi tool bag… Read more

to match and had decided to gradually replace all my power tools with Hitachi. [I guess that has changed now]

I had a few palings to refix onto the hardwood railing [yes I know the hardness of aged hardwood-I have done this job before]. I selected the brand new, never used, black oxide 3mm bit to drill a pilot hole and it struggled, eventually became stuck so I had to reverse the drill and pull out the bit. It snapped! On the way out! Looking at the stub I had left it was a brittle fracture. I felt miffed, but got my Sutton bit, drilled a hole 5mm away like going through butter [well almost].

It should not have happened, even though its a $3 bit this was bad quality so I rang Hitachi Australia. Now this bit probably costs $0.50 wholesale so I did not expect the run around, warranty officer said he would have to check with the manager. He was out so the manager was supposed to ring back-he didn't. I rang again 2 days later and again the warranty claims officer said she would have to check with the manager. The manager came back with the statement that drill bits are accessories/consumables and aren't covered by warranty, hang on my set was not an accessory to another product my set WAS the product. I was told if I had a problem to write a letter! Over a $0.50 bit! Shame Hitachi shame. Good companies don't blink at those sorts of things they just DO IT.

I rang the online retailer that sold me the set, Get Tools Direct. What a difference, I explained the story and immediately they asked for my address to post out two replacement bits. Thank you Get Tools Direct, a good company and they stand by Hitachi's warranty even if Hitachi don't. Petty Colour Pretty awful. Bad warranty service with a Scrooge mentality.
