Hipvan NOT so hip – Their wording is very deceptive .. Like 'free returns' Read carefully all their policies as I wanted to return Unopened box & they ' have to look into the matter'! What happens to easy free returns! You have to take stuff back to their wharehouse & never will you get credit to your card. Store credits only. What a hassle to work with them. Never shop there again.
Still waiting on item – Estimated arrival date for my product was 24 Nov. I wrote to them 18 Dec. with 3 days before I received a response. Told me that the item was shipped on 2 Dec... Still waiting. Highly recommend avoiding them!!
Avoid at all costs – Estimated shipping date was 26th of November.. Now the 19th of December, looks like i'll have to get mum something else.
Good – Like others, I only realised after placing my order that HipVan is not an Australian company. I should have done my homework on them prior to placing my order, so it is my own fault for not checking. What duped me was their .com.au domain that comes up on a web search for items. (note: when clicking on their website with the com.au domain, you will be redirected to their .com domain - I didn't pick up on that until now). I read reviews of HipVan (frantically, post purchase) - main concerns were: items not arriving, no shipping/tracking numbers given, missing item/s and poor communication. I received prompt email advice from HipVan, sans tracking number, that my order would be delivered by 19 December. It arrived 10 days early on 9 December. The boxes of the items got banged about in the shipping process, but no worse than something from Amazon. Perhaps they could put 'fragile' notice on items that are, well, fragile. Fortunately the contents arrived safe and sound. Apart from the mini-freak out that I'd never see my items and would be out of pocket, or that I'd receive Chinese fakes, I am very pleased with the purchase. Would I purchase from them again? Yes.
Delays in shipping but good communication – I placed an order with HipVan for a rare item that I could not source in Australia (except for on one website that had it marked up 600%) without reading any reviews. weeks late) however they were quick to respond to any enquiries I had and once the item was despatched it arrived in 3 days.
Car seat not upto standards – I purchased a car seat on hip van Australia, to then find out they are based in Singapore! And the car seat does not even meet Australian standards! This is terrible. This should not happen if a company is supposedly based in Australia the product should meet that countries safety standards. Also they should not mislead people with a com.au web page, it does not state they are based overseas.

amount of emails they need another 72hours.....still have not heard.....no item, no money......will ask for refund ( $350.-) via paypal now. I do not recommend hip van at all!!!!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER – Purchased a lamp online, paid in full. 2 months later - emailed Hipvan to see where the product was. Was told they have no stock, and they forgot to contact me. FAIL. Now having issues with refunding money via Paypal. BAD EXPERIENCE. STAY AWAY
Supposedly HIP store with a missing Delivery VAN – Bought items on the store. Shipped notice received, informing delivery will be between 1 to 3 working days. Items didn't arrive. Not sure when it will arrive. Continuous follow up and recommit by its "Customer Happiness Officer" didn't yield any result....hopefully it will arrived one fine day. Do not be fooled.
Terrible service, misleading company – My experience with HipVan was the worst I've ever had in over 10 years of shopping online. They appeared to be located in Australia when in fact they're located in Singapore (I thought that if a business had the domain ending in .com.au they had to be located in Australia, not so!). I had the following two sentences:
"The following items from your order #xxxx have now been shipped! "
and:
"You will receive another email confirmation when they have been shipped."
So, it's been shipped, but we'll let you know when we ship it. Confusing!
I repeatedly asked for tracking and my messages were either unanswered, or that request was ignored.
The item did eventually show up. 9 days after they said it would which is good except it was two days after they said it would arrive and 7 days after I needed it. Had I known they were in Singapore I'd never have ordered with them as it was time sensitive.
Main gripes are
Inaccurate delivery estimates (twice)
Should not have a .com.au URL
Ignore messages/emails
Emails that are confusing and often contradictory.
No tracking given though item was shipped with tracking
Upside
The staff when they did write were polite
The item did eventually arrive which is better than it not arriving at all.
I would not shop from this store again under any circumstances. Would give zero stars if I could.
They took my money and didn't deliver – HipVan made several promises to deliver my item. Apology after apology. They set 3 delivery dates, apologising after each was missed. It's been over 2 months since purchase and I still haven't received my item. For the 4th delivery date they promised to express post and give me a tracking number that day but I never heard back. They missed the deadline yet again!
