Shitest TV I’ve ever had in my life – No way to add apps, it’s more like a dumb tv. I wish I could take it back. No way of adding local catchup tv apps in Australia- regret buying this and now after a couple of years it has a row of dead pixels! Show details
Fantastic Television. A smart tv that's totally functional & easy to use – We purchased our Hisense TV about one year ago to replace our old Samsung Smart TV when it died. I loved my Samsung TV, and I was dubious about my husband's choice of this Hisense brand, but he researched it intensively and convinced me it would be great. He was right. I don't miss my Samsung at all. The Hisense picture quality is… Read more
fantastic, setup was a breeze, and we just love the ease of connectivity - we can stream from our phones, tablet and computer straight to the tv, and it makes it so very easy to connect with Netflix - Even my 4 year old can use the remote successfully.
I haven't had much need to use the cable connections at rear, so I cannot comment on it's capabilities in that sense, but thus far we aren't missing anything. It has enough HDMI connections for the kids to plug in their games consoles, and for the moment that's all we need.
One thing I would love to be able to do, though, is to edit the channel list to remove channels we don't use, and sort them into an order that makes sense for our family.
I'd also point out that loading the EPC channel list has to be done manually by clicking each channel one by one - a bit of a labour intensive task. If anyone has any tips for making these tasks possible/easier then please let me know.
These are, honestly, the only faults I have found with it thus far. It's a great, easy to use, functional TV.
Best bang for buck TV range in Australia – We replaced an aging LG LCD with this tv. After researching the available replacement from LG and similar sets from the premium brands, I took a usb drive with a few downloaded 4k clips to JB Hifi. The hisense blew everything away except the top of the range LG OLED in terms of picture quality. Now that I have owned it for a couple of months the… Read more · 1
only downside at all is the viewing angle. If I stand at about 45 degrees to the screen the colour washes out a bit. For 99% of the time, we are in front of it so its not really an big issue.
Netflix and youtube apps work well. Ditto iview. Speakers surprisingly good. I have since switched off the aging LG home theater in a box system I had hooked up as the sound is better from the TV itself.
Interface is clean and slick.
Really Good Quality for the price – I bought it from JB Hi Fi ~$800 when it was on sale. Really good color panel. Number of ports is adequate. The built in Speakers are decent but not the best. I think it does need to be coupled with a better sound system. TV Apps work really good. I have seen lot of "Smart" TVs that are terrible at app loading time and also do not connect to… Read more · 1
the internet properly. Have never had such a problem. TV takes very little time to stat up and loads apps really quick. All premium apps pre-installed and love having dedicated Netflix and Youtube button. I am not sure how to install 3rd part apps as of yet but would be better if they had more compatible apps (Other than the premium ones).
Excellent TV – Easy to navigate remote control and initial setup Enough ports to connect all our external devices Picture quality is clear Sound is crisp Easy connection to gaming consoles Very happy with the purchase price Packaging was miminal Light weight but sturdy unit Sexy and sleek tv Looks great in any lounge room Show details · 1
affordable great quality tv – picture quality is great, clearer than my eyes lol very satisfied with the built in speakers, crystal clear the tv has enough ports, easy to set up. i love how you can connect with netflix and youtube by a click of a button. would love if you can connect to google chrome though Show details · 1
Stunning! – The colour is so accurate! No screen bleed or dead pixel. The games that I'm playing looks so real and alive! The speaker is fantastic! I used my desktop pc to play a 4K games via hdmi ports and it's really fast refresh rate. I'm really satisfied with this TV I would recommend it to my friends! Show details · 1
Best picture ever – Bought from Harvey Norman Hoppers Crossing. Good value compared to the other brands. Speakers are awesome and the HDMI ports are enough for me. The system apps took a while to master, however once you use it a few times , it becomes easy. Picture quality the best I have ever seen. Played a blue-ray 4 and amazing! Happy with store and product Show details · 1
3 year warranty = peace of mind – We bought a 50" Hisense UHD smart TV back in October 2016 mainly because Hisense offer a 3 year replacement warranty. Now like all TV's it has since come down in price by $200 but I still feel that we have gotten a good deal. TV's like many electrical goods don't tend to last like they did, AND technology tends to drive so many changes so… Read more · 1
quickly anyway that it seems wasteful to spend too much on a tv in any case.
Our children use the Netflix and Youtube options constantly, and as a result we are spoilt for choice when it comes time to watch a little "telly".
We are very happy with what we felt was a value for money purchase especially given good warranty.
Best quality picture – After checking out this TV in jb hifi and comparing the picture quality with the likes of Sony and Samsung, it was no brainer that I was getting a bargain for its price. This TV has it all, although I would have gone for the extra 5" overall I'm happy with this purchase and the size of the 50" fits well in the media room. Show details · 1
good value – very satisfied with picture quality, good sound , overall good operating system and app use. Netflix streaming was also easy. im very satisfied with the built in speakers and there were enough hdmi ports for my usage for a cheaper priced tv I was quite surprised. I will recommend this tv to anyone in a budget. Show details · 1
As good as most – So far it's as good, if not better than most for a good price, the picture quality is outstanding, the sound is not to bad, we have not had to fit a sound bar, as we have had to on other more expensive big name brands, 3 years warranty is standard. Show details · 1
Great TV but the PVR function is useless – Great: Price, picture quality, sound, warranty, smart TV functions, Netflix, low lag. Average: The iPhone app to control the TV only sometimes works Bad: PVR function records files with meaningless file names and there is no good way to find what you what you previously recorded. I'm really very happy with this TV, it boots quickly and there… Read more · 1
is very little lag, especially loading Netflix which is much faster than our recent model Panasonic PVR. Its a real shame that they don't put the little bit of effort into making the PVR function useable. Recording works well, but the files it records have meaningless names and there is no good way to find the file you want to watch. It would be very simple to upgrade the firmware to use the program name as the file name. If you don't want to use the PVR function, then this is a great TV.

Know better, choose better.
Wasent expecting it but its really good. Its only hdr8 and not hdr10 – If it was pulling out hdr10 it be an excellent tv to purchase hands down 10/10 for the price. But it can only pull out hdr8 really but overall it ok for a starter tv if u wanting to ho 4k hdr. 4k is great i find that when watching normal tv it lacks a bit in 4k quality. Hdr is ok but like i said it can only go hdr8 and not hdr10 so overall uea its good Show details · 1
Hisense. Makes sense – I have always been brand orientated. Until I compared the picture quality between Hisense and other television manufacturers. Hisense panels are crisp and colourful. What drew me to buying one is the 3 year warranty, which is amazing. I use the tv for gaming and it really is amazing with no lag whatsoever. The sound is good too which plenty of… Read more · 1
bass. The Netflix button on the remote is genius. Hisense cannot be beat when it comes to value for money. Best money I've spent.
Hisense. The complete package – Hisense continues to impress with exceptional picture and sound quality with a 3 year warranty that competitors envy. Cannot be beat. Great for gaming, streaming and with plenty inputs for your high def additions. The perfect package. Puts other manufacturers to shame. Highly recommended. Our home is pro Hisense as are our Family and Friends. 10/10 Show details · 1

Big, better than my old TV, variable performance depending on the video sourse – I purchased this TV from JB Hifi Frankston Homemaker Centre. The buying experience was deflating. The salesperson tried to get me to buy extended warranty which I did not, nor did he throw in a complimentary DVD or Blu-Ray disk. I paid for the TV at the main desk, but had to go outside to the grotty rear of the building to pick up the TV. I… Read more
expected more from the store. There was a 55 inch version of this TV with the same specs, but the 50 inch priced at $22.00 per inch while the 55 inch priced at $27.00 per inch. All retailers selling the 55 inch were at the same price, while JB Hifi was the only retailer to carry the 50 inch model.
The TV is large at 50 inches but it was lighter than I expected. Unpacking the TV from the box was easy enough as was assembling the feet/stand. There is ample connectivity around the back which includes four HDMI, three USB for play back from sticks or Hard Drives, a headphone socket and a service socket. There is also a Digital Audio Out socket, and analogue connectors but there is no analogue Audio Out which I found disappointing, which meant I could not connect the TV sound to a regular style amplifier. The headphone socket also cuts of the sound from the main speakers so you cannot listen to both at the same time. The remote is modern and fits in the hand well, and there is a very basic paper quick set up guide. No cables come with the the TV, which is disappointing. Getting the TV up and running was smooth and efficient, but discovering all the features locked within the operating system had to be investigated via the remote using trial and error. There are four picture modes to choose from and it is easy to adjust colour, brightness, contrast, etc. You have to look hard to locate where to store your favorites but once up and running getting used to the interface was easy enough.
The viewing angles are disappointingly narrow. Move left or right of the screen and the picture looks washed out. From straight ahead the picture looks fine. Thankfully the screen is not too reflective.Being a 4K TV regular broadcast TV and look very poor. Even High Def content is variable in quality. This is a smart TV which came with installed apps. I uninstalled most of them. Opera is the Web browser but the keyboard is an on screen affair which can only select one letter or numeral at a time using the up-down arrows on the remote control. That is very slow. I have yet to discover how to use a real keyboard and mouse, for that would make browsing worthwhile. Streaming is problematic if broadband speed via WiFi is not adequate. Connecting to home WiFi was simple and efficient.
There are a lot of on-screen notifications which I found annoying. With each station selected a pop up appears which prompts the viewer to select Freeview Plus if that is their wont. The EPG is satisfactory and is easily accessed via the remote. Scheduling TV programs is possible, but I have yet to do any of that. It does take a number of attempts to tweak the picture. Everything looks better at night when there is no direct light on the screen. The amount of back-light can be adjusted for this is a back lit LED TV. This is a uLed TV and not an Oled TV which does not require back lighting. As far as I can tell, this TV is future proofed.
What is the picture like? That is a vexed question. It can be great, and it can be poor depending on the source. Australian broadcast TV is not the greatest. Even the Olympics on Seven HD can look a little ropey. When the TV is turn off the Hisense logo is illuminated. The Set Up Guide states the illuminated logo can have its brightness adjusted, but I have not found out how. There is a toggle switch at the back of the TV which will change channels or adjust the volume. Do not lose the remote!! The remote is essential for operating the TV.
