Stopped working after 4 years – This TV only lasted 4.5 years max and now won't start. I treat my things with great care, so I did not trash it. It had a 3 year Warrantee and only lasted 4. I will never buy Hisense again! Talking about being sustainable!! Make things that last long! Why don't we start with that??!! Show details
It’s OK – This was not a bad TV. Picture quality was okay, sound was okay, it did what it was supposed to do. I knew going in it wasn’t top of the line but for what I paid I was impressed. Colour overall was fine. Dark scenes seemed washed out with halo effect although 4K titles seemed to reduce this. There were little quirks like CEC sometimes working,… Read more
sometimes not and the OS was not the best. Firmware updates were few but that’s not a bad thing (unless you want updated/new apps).
What was really disappointing is it has now died only 3 years from manufacture. It could be repaired (it’s either a control board or faulty LEDs) but for what I paid the cost isn’t worth pursuing.
Would I buy again? Maybe. If I was on a budget and could get one for the right price I would probably give it a second chance. If the price difference for a “quality” model was only $200-$300 I would probably find the extra cash and skip the Hisense.
Avoid this product – Poor sound, poor image, remote takes aprox 2 minutes to react. Wont do this again! Poor way to spend money! Its almost going into the pool, You could spend your money better than blowing it on one of these things. Show details
Warning! Do not buy Hisense! – Worst customer experience EVER! TV broken down in 6 months. Wasted my time for repair and was told irreparable. New replacement was promised and did not happen. Customer services lied about never received any report from technician. Keep changing stories every I followed up. Waited for another month and tones of calls and emails to be approved for refund but store credit only. Do not buy Hisense if you do not want to waste your time and money. Show details
Smart TV good quality – Smart TV is very practical unit eazy to operate. Love EPG graphics with good font size. Netflix and YouTube buttons fast to navigate.this is my 3rd Hisense TV and this brand is very reliable with excellent picture and colors. Show details
Low cost and it does the job – I've had the TV for a few months now and I'm pretty happy with that. I bought for quite a low price from the shop (much lower than all the other big brands) and it works well. The OS could be better as you can't install apps, but I rarely feel the need to add apps to the pre-installed ones. The quality of the image is pretty good but sometimes… Read more
(specially with Netflix) you get an annoying traling halo to moving images. The image gets better with content played from a hard drive. You have plenty of ports for any kind of input. In conclusion, if you want the best of the best, this isn't probably for you, but if you care about price-quality ration, this is definitely a good option
Great cheap UHD tv – I've had this TV for 4 months now, the picture quality is great. But the sound quality is MUCH better than I thought it would be for a cheap TV. I planned on having a sound bar to go with it for movies but the quality is fantastic as is. Great TV that wont break the bank. I've always bought cheap TV's because they go out of date so quickly, but… Read more
this is the best yet.
Problems you may have: Out of the box, the TV is set to Shop/Store mode. Which will only run app's or TV for 1 minutes before it reverts to a store display (4k pictures, screen saver type of mode) You will have to turn off Store Mode.
When app's start becoming slow or you are having problems streaming video content, you need to clear the App Cache. By pressing the House icon button and going to settings, system, application settings, clear cache & cookies. I've had no other app issues that others speak of
Excellent picture quality – It is mid range in price but has top of range exceptional picture quality. I like the stainless steel edging to go with my decor. Hisense for the win. Definitely recommend this TV. Show details
Doesn’t Work Service is non existent – My Hisense 50 P6 worked for 5 mins then powered off.Rang Hisense help line,no one ever calls you back and Shellharbour JBHi Fi service is appalling also. Its 2 weeks now and despite numerous phone calls to both companies I still have no TV and have not had 1 phone call returned Show details
Too many bugs – Purchased a Hisense 50P6 at Xmas 2018. Unfortunately the SBS app kept crashing with a "Not Connected to Internet" sign which cannot be removed from the screen. The OK button is greyed out. So, after multiple calls to the Helpline (1.5 hours wait each time) I eventually acquired new firmware. This fixed the SBS app BUT now on every live to air… Read more
ABC channel there is a black box permanently on the screen. This happens when the Freeview sign comes across the screen, it always leaves a black surround behind. It never goes away.
Good TV if you don't mind putting up with all of these issues. I guess that's why they are cheap...
Simple and Efficient – We were looking for an affordable smart tv that was easy to use and did the job without complications. We bought this from Harvey Norman on sale and are glad we did! It has a sharp clear picture on the 50" screen. Colours look great on streamed content and free to air is ok as you would expect from a low quality signal. We wanted something that… Read more
was going to look nice mounted on the wall in our family area for the kids. It's slim and very light. It's sound is crisp and clear.
One button press for Netflix or YouTube is great! The built in apps work really well with needing to worry about running an android OS.
I haven't tried gaming on it since my gaming equipment is on a projector in another room.
The only thing I could say to improve this tv is that it doesn't seem to have a sleep timer but otherwise it's a great all round tv at its price point.
Win/Win with Hisense – I love our new 50 inch Hisense Smart TV easy to navigate great apps great resolutions great quality and value for money works with NBN seamless connectivity nice colour slim design functional family friendly use for youtube music movies catch up tv movie marathons high functionality with low or high tech wizards Show details
Great Picture Quality for the Price - Some firmware issues – I cannot fault the picture quality, sound quality and value for money but am disappointed with the quality/reliability of the inbuilt Freeview and 9Now catchup TV app on the bundled smartTV apps. It seems the standard firmware is a little buggy as the 9Now app stops working often when playing back Channel 9 catchup TV programs and the screen… Read more
reverts to playing Live TV. The frequency of software crashes increases the longer you use the Apps. After a while not even Netflix will launch. Rebooting the TV by unplugging it resets it.
To bypass this issue I am now using a separately purchased Chromecast Ultra with the TV to ensure I can used these smart TV features and the Chromecast has no such issues playing the same 9Now content.
*** EDIT: I finally raised a support ticket and got to speak to someone after close to an hour on hold. They sent me
Hisense P6 TV firmware (version I0723) which is a newer version than the TV update check has which seems to have solved the 9Now dropouts.
Another minor gripe is that you cannot watch a recorded show at the same time it is recording. As someone who loves watching live sports this feature is very important as I don't want to have to wait for the event to be finished before being able to replay, pause and fast forward it.
Also I find that the inbuilt casting support does not work with all phone/tablet apps, so I still need a chromecast for that feature.
For the price I still think it is good value and quality (minus the smart TV features). Just factor in spending extra for a real Chromecast and/or PVR if having those stable smart TV features is important to you.
