Update of my 2017 review – Further to the everyday usage a couple of years down the track. Issues faced from owning this TV. Software updates were very bad and did not help much to fix known glitches such as freezing and slow software. Youtube locking up. ARRRGGGHHHH Found the casting feature to be very slow and had to restart TV every time i needed to cast a program. TV… Read more
would randomly restart by itself and would constantly lose internet connection. So talking to repairers and they said it is a common problem, 2 failed Boards in TV and the replacements were not upgraded, so it would do it again. Still under extended warranty so I paid extra for a proper smart TV. Found myself hating this TV which although had a good picture was let down by the technology. My rule now is No Chinese crap Tv's. Bought a Sony.
Decent looking TV with horrible software/firmware – Im currently on my second unit of this TV as the first one only lasted 3 months and now this one is having problems. Ive had constant crashing of Netflix and Stan apps, audio not syncing up properly and constant Network disconnects. Ive already sent it off once and it took 4 weeks to come bacl to me with a rep saying that a firmware update would… Read more
definitely fix it. Unit cane back and firmware update was applied along with a factory reset but it is still having the same issues. Really unhappy and will be requesting a refund or changing brands.

Upper class TV for the lower class price :D – FIRST THOUGHTS & UNBOXING: Loved the presentation of it, so easy to unpack. You need to have someone to help you a little bit. Just cut the straps and then you can lift the box straight off the base. Nothing is ever more satisfying than peeling those protective plastics off the trims :). THE GOOD: I'm super happy with this purchase. I've had… Read more
it for a few months now and I've enjoyed every moment of it. Admittedly I don't watch much free-to-air TV however it picked up all the channels the first time without any issue.
There's an ethernet connection at the back too... handy if your family are all on their phones downloading stuff while you're trying to stream a UHD movie, you can just plug that bad boy straight into the router.
The user interface is well thought out and easy to navigate. There are a number of sound and picture presets example: Game, Cinema, Dynamic and you can change each one to your preferred custom setting.
Each of your input channels can be renamed, for mine I have renamed them Xbox, Playstation, Microcade & TV. I thought that was cool.
At the back of the TV it features a few connectors... 2x USBs, 2x 60hz HDMI, 2x 30hz HDMI, a USB 3, Optical sound, Ethernet, TV Antenna, headphones 3.5mm jack, a common interface card slot, and your usual AV/Stereo components ( yellow, white, blue, green & 2x red)
GAMING:
I've used the playstation with it and it's fine with no noticeable lag. I have also connected my gaming PC to it and it works a charm, automatically changing to the best resolution where i do not have to strain my eyes to see the writing.
I recently purchased an Xbox One X (Enhanced) which has 4K and I must say it looks fantastic. I didn't think for the 1K price tag that this TV could look so good and yet here we are.
Blu-ray movies look really really good and I purchased a movie from Xbox store that was Ultra HD and it was so sharp and nice. 55 inch is probably the biggest size you'd want to go anything bigger will put strains on the graphic cards inside the consoles and you'll start to get lag.
SOUND: I was happy to see that the TV had an optical output which was handy, so now we play games, watch movies and TV all on the one sound bar. The base sound on the TV is quite loud and sufficient, however it is just standard sound and someone who has spent their entire life using external speakers and surround, it just won't do.
APPS: The TV also features a big 'YouTube' button and a 'NETFLIX' button. Just press either one and you're in! Super stoked with TVs having these options, no need to turn the console on to watch Netflix anymore.
There's also a 'MEDIA' button for all your different medias from your computer. You can watch videos straight from your drop box or video files from your computer.
'APPS' button where you can access the smaller media sites like STAN, TED, SBS on Demand, 4K now etc etc. I haven't tried any of the other apps though.
THE BAD:
It's stuffed up only once, I was watching netflix and when I tried to quit the show the screen kept going black, after a while, I pulled the TV out of the wall and plugged it back in and it was good again. I think it might have been Netflix that was causing the issue, maybe a memory cache or something.
CONCLUSION:
If you don't want to spend ridiculous $$$ on a TV...buy this... its 55 inch 60hz 4K resolution with Netflix, YouTube & other media ready apps... not to mention optical sound. You seriously can't beat that price for that size and quality.
10/10
as good as, if not better than some higher cost 4K ULED Smart TV's – This is my 2nd Hisense large screen TV, this one is in the main bedroom and replaced a good quality LG 40", when I first turned it on I was surprised at how fast it loaded and how easy it was to set up. The picture quality is far better than I thought it would be, I let it set at default as I was more than happy, after all the apps updated etc. I… Read more
went onto a 4K app and watched some of the videos and they looked almost 3D and like I was looking out of a window....perfect picture and I have been watching some 4K Netflix shows and 4K blu-rays and the image is outstanding. The only issue I did find is that being in Townsville, North QLD the Freeview only has 3 catch up channels, very disappointing and it wont let you download the channels apps but I have Telstra TV 2 and that has all the catch up apps on it so it didn't bother me to much. When I need to update the 75" in the home Theatre I will be buying a series 7 or the series 8 or 9. Buying the N7 for a bit over $900 with a 3 year in house warranty was a bargain and well worth every $.
Superb, but some small issues – Was in the market for a large TV, 4K HDR was a must. Compared to the rest of the market in the price range ($1000-1500), the Hisense 55N7 won by a large margin. Not only did it have the superior image quality when viewed in person, but many other big name brands only provided a 50Hz panel, whereas the 55N7 is 100Hz. I have faced a few issues with… Read more
the TV though. For example, when watching Daredevil on Netflix, the TV struggles to maintain a bright image, the image will go bright, and then dim. This still persists even with the adaptive brightness, contrast enhancements, and local dimming all turned off. Another small annoyance is when you hit the volume up/down button once, it only shows you the current volume, so you then need to press it again for the volume to be changed. The inbuilt operating system is pretty much useless, fine for those who want to just stream Netflix, but the UI is laggy and does not allow for extra apps, and many of the apps are not for the Australian market. I purchased an Apple TV 4K to alleviate this and it all works very well together.

Perfect for gaming! – Simple to setup, plug and play. I bought this for the Xbox one x - don't forget to optimise the HDMI port to enable dynamic format for best visuals. Looks amazing once this has been turned on. 10/10 would recommend especially at the current price point. Show details
Great Television – This television was very easy to set up and delivers great picture quality. Plenty of ports for additional devices and it's connectivity abilities also are great. Very good value for money. Show details
Great tv – Great smart tv in our bedroom. Has all the apps I need. Especially like the YouTube and Netflix buttons. Happy with the picture quality and colours. It’s not the most expensive tv out there and I think given the features on the tv I’d say it’s pretty good value for money. Will buy a larger one for the living room next. Show details

good for the price – This TV is a mcuh more reasonable price for the screen size than others. The sound quality can vary but overall picture is pretty good. Not as good quality as some other brands for movign picture and sports but great for a secodn loungroom or bedroom not a main room TV in my opinion. Show details
Faulty from day 1 – Speaker on tv is very muffled and sounds like its blown..Hisense warranty states they try to fix before replacing..its taking 5 weeks for the part to arrive..Meanwhile I can hardly use it as its so muffled...Not impressed at all..Their technician didn't even advise me anything about length of wait..I had to chase Hisense again Show details
Blacks are black ... but that’s it! – .... whites are splotchy ... cannot watch off centre, picture washes out badly ... distracting cloud band at top of screen ... audio is less than adequate, hence soundbar purchased ... good smart TV functions ... ease of use... but cannot recommend this TV, despite the price tag and rave reviews elsewhere ... contacted Hisense Support with screen… Read more
shots ... inadequate response ... will wait for OLED tech to settle down and prices more affordable ...

A step up in quality! – This was purchased to use with 4k gaming console with HDR support. It looks awesome compared to cheaper TVs .. blacks could be better but otherwise awesome vibrant crisp picture with true 4k content.. as with any tv dont expect it to make so called HD FTA tellivision to look better.. expect a vast improvement on 4k netflix , youtube , 4k disc and gaming. Smart functions are perfect. Fast and user friendly compared to other brands. Show details
Amazing quality Great price – This is an amazing quality TV with easy to use features, including a Netflix and Youtube button on the TV remote. The sound is average but thats like every tv nowadays, you need speakers to be satisfied. Quality is perfect compared to other companies who make 4k tv’s that are bland. Only issue i have is having to reconnect to the internet everytime the tv is turned on due to it being wireless. Otherwise, i highly recommend buying this tv! Show details

4. The device has enough ports to connect a lot of devices, very good.
This is perfect – Great smart TV, so easy to use. Love the features such as You Tube and Netflix at the touch of a button. Easy setup of the TV. Wireless and Bluetooth connectivity is quick. Haven’t recorded on it as yet but looks easy to do this. The picture is clear and fabulous. Also has IView. Very happy overall with this TV. Show details
Good value Hi Sense Smart TV – Normally buy Samsung TV's for top quality & reliability, but my son wanted a new Smart TV for his new Apmt & Samsung was out of his price range. Hence when JB Hi Fi had this tv on special at EOFY sale, we checked it out. It is easy to set up, easy to use & has very good picture quality for the price. reason & Tv has to be reset to allow re-connection. A friend also bought this tv last month & has similar issue, so clearly this is a small issue for Hi Sense to fix. That said, the TV has so far showed itself to be very good value.
Awesome – Awesome t. One of the best i have ever bought.great picture and sound quality much cheaper than most televisions couldnt really tell much differance to one that cost double in cost. Also quite light , plus grandson loved the box it came in. So he has no complaints either.lol if I had to buy again i would choose this tv again. Show details
Great image – We bought it almost a year ago and we cannot complain about anything so far. It offers a great picture quality, the sound is great for a tv of this quality, and offers enough ports. It is not heavy to carry. The only thing that we would change is the colour of its base (we rather have it in black since it goes better with our furniture)...but it is only a small detail. Unreal performance and picture for price! – I purchased this tv in late 2017 and have not been disappointed! I use it mainly for gaming (Xbox one X), Netflix and sport. The picture quality is unreal and it handles the 4K HDR games really well! the only issue I have is the slight delay when changing the inputs. 9.5/10 would recommend! Show details
Awesome value – Got this TV on sale at JB Hifi, and wasn't sure about the brand but turns out the picture quality is great, the features are awesome and it looks great! Would love it if the sound was a little better, but i hooked up a speaker and it is fine. Has all the ports you need, and easy to hook up. Has all the smart TV features like Netflix, Stan and SBS which is great! Going to get a second smaller one of the same brand for the bedroom. Show details

Good one – A reasonably large screen (55") TV with HDR plus feature, that should put this slightly ahead of the curve in terms of being prepared for the future. Does have very good clarity for watching 4KHD content. Sound output could have been better but not bad as such. Easy to operate and to connect to wifi etc. Quite good in acting as screen for anyview… Read more
cast through wifi. Also has 3 year warranty. For the features provided and the screen size, a good choice when compared to more popular/expensive brands.
Absolutely Outstanding TV – This TV has me very happy indeed. The screen is nothing short of spectacular. Vibrant colours with superb separation and excellent darks. The sound is good too - nearly every flat TV of any description has poor speakers and needs a soundbar but this one really good. The remote is well laid out but a bit complicated at first. Just to sit and watch a movie on this TV is a real pleasure. Show details
Its like being in a cinema – What can I say, Awesome picture, awesome features, plenty of inputs, I love it. The picture quality is superb, the EPG is probably the best set out one I have ever seen, changing inputs is easy and the TV looks fantastic. Why hadn't I heard of Hisense TV's previously? The price was incredible when compared to more well known brands, I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase. Show details
Amazing tv for value – Picture quality on this TV is amazing, by far the best TV I have owned to date. The sound quality is impeccable and has never missed a beat. The TV comes with multiple ports (HDMI, USB, aerial) it also has WIFI compatibility to connect to the internet. Only thing I can fault with this tv is that when you try to load the EPG (electronic program guide) some of the shows don’t show up until you exit out and go back into it. Show details
Excellent Picture Quality – Excellent Picture Quality with great contrast and brightness User interface is friendly and remote control is very simple to use Easy to use features like Netflix and Youtube at a click of a button Sound quality could be a bit better but easy to fix with a simple soundbar option Show details
Great picture with HD – Picture quality is great with HD especially with nat geo amd bbc ptograms who have excellent video quality along with the size makes you feel like you are in the African savanna watching the lions in wait for dinner Sound is not the best nor is the time for the remote to talk to the tv sometimes. Good TV with a very reasonable price – The image quality is definitely above the average. In my opinion, it is far better than those entry level Samsung/Sony models which can be up to $500 more expensive than this 55n7. The sound quality is OK but not great. The design of the TV is slick. The TV stand is strong and stable. The smart function is easy to set up and use. Given the selling price (<$1,000), i reckon this TV is 100% value for money. I recommend it. Show details
Amazing product, would recommend – This is a very good energy rating tv, the brightness and display of this is incredible. It’s like being in a cinema and even without surround sound the volume is great. The price was a little expensive however I would reccomend this for what it is. The quality for sure is a 8/10 Show details
Super nice TV for a price – I bought TV via online. It’s much better than expected and I am so happy with the TV. It’s the right size for my lounge. I thought Hinsense tv would be like any other Chinese product but it’s quality looks way better than Samsung or other branded tv. Great TV and recommended. Show details
Absolutely perfect – Received this as a gift and could not be more pleased. It was a great upgrade from my previous TV which was only 55". purchased a sound bar so no complaints. It definitely has efficient HDMI ports and I love how easy it is to access my favourite apps such as Netflix.
Don’t buy hisense tv!!!! – Terrible customer service. I called and emailed about 15 times about problems with the tv including a pink line that came up at least twice. Very unhelpful staff and emailed manager twice about the problems and didn’t even get a response. We bought a Samsung tv at the same time and have been extremely happy with it. Just wanted to warn anyone out there thinking about buying a hisense tv, don’t do it to yourself. It’s not worth all the trouble. Show details
OMG It's amazing to look at – Upgraded from a 32" tv. The picture looks fabulous and to me the sound is great. the sales guys where we researched buying all said they had Hisense as the price for the quality couldn't be beaten. Definitely recommend this tv.
Perfect budget tv – Bought this tv a few weeks ago from Harvey Norman and couldn’t be happier with the purchase (and it’s a few hundred dollars cheaper now). Picture quality is amazing for the price and a major step up from my old Samsung HD tv. The Xbox one x looks superb on there. Go out and get it. Show details
