Faulty product and bad customer service

published

We bought the fridge in Sep, 2020 at Harvey Norman. It stopped working in May, 2022. The technician said that it's not repairable and we were offered a refund or a swap. Due to our kitchen configuration, we could not find any similar model at Harvey Norman. Thus, we decided for a swap. The customer service said that it will take 5 to 10 business days to deliver a new fridge. However, after 10 working days nothing happened. As I called support they said that they are unable to find a courier and therefore can offer us only a refund.
As a result, we are already 2 weeks without a fridge, and a new one will be smaller in volume and we have to pay extra. We should have gone with another brand when purchasing the fridge. Very disappointing.

Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $700.

Just packed in and freezer wont freeze. It wasn't cheap either. Very angry now at the rigmarol to get them to fix it which I will. Never buy this brand again.

looking for a replacement

published

shocking thing. works 50% of the time. never keeps food cold. filled with solid food items such as puddings etc, so its not cooling air all the time. when it does work its ok. wouldnt give it to someone for a beer fridge; hot bubbles is not acceptable. looking for a replacement but everything these days is air flow.

Purchased in at The Good Guys for $500.

Fridge has kicked the can after 3 years only. Highly disappointed !

published

We had this fridge for 3 years wasn’t too bad , all of a sudden stopped working overnight. After having a technician come and review they said there is a leak that requires new parts and regassing but will cost us half of what we paid for . Same was quoted from another technician . Highly dissapointed that this has happened just outside of our warranty date and it wasn’t build for long use. I had heard mixed reviews on this before purchase but I didn’t think 3 years was the life expectancy for it .

Purchased in at Betta Home Living for $940.

High pitched noise when running

published

From the start up a high pitched penetrating noise was emitted. The retailer could not get a reply from the distributor or the local rep. An in store exchange was negotiated for a different brand. Hisense customer service is very bad. Our advice don,t by any electrical product manufactured by Chinese companies.

Purchased in at Begents Burnie Tasmania for $649.

Expected it to last more than 4 years.

published

My 88 year old mother purchased this fridge from The Good Guys in July 2017 and in October 2021 it stopped getting cold. Spoke to Hisense who referred me to their service agent who is located some 80kms away. Tried local service agents who wanted to charge $130 to visit plus $65 per 15 minutes plus GST plus parts. Way over the top for a pensioner. Looks like it’s a new fridge which hopefully will last longer than four years.

Purchased in for $509.

No frost freezer, frost everything including freezer

published

Budget friendly, however when you claim fridge is "NO FROST TECHNOLOGY" fridge with the big upper letters you would expect this. bought 3 months ago already looking for a replacement. Lesson learnt spend bit more get a proper fridge !!!
Temperature control for both fridge and freezer is horrible.

Has served us well

published

Great little fridge! Wasn’t our first choice but due to space limitations we had to buy this one, however I’d happily buy it again. It does what it’s supposed to, and so far not given us any issues.

The freezer is quite small, I have to be strategic about freezer purchases. However the fridge is great and the shelves can be adjusted to your needs. Everything comes out and it’s easy to clean. Overall a good purchase.

Hisense reminds me of the Hyundias back in the 80'S

published

The fringe is well put together, utilizes every bit of space, plus uses less energy than most regular refrigerators.
With a smooth satin silver finish, it is pleasant to look at, and the minimalist look carries over into the cavity of the fridge.
KIA and Hyundai have travelled a long way in all countries and they back their products with a 7 year warranty. That's confidence!
Hisense is another brand working its butt off to make its mark globally. Like Kelvinator, LG, Sharp etc,
Hisense is doing extremely well for themselves. Unless you are a badge nob.

Purchased in at The Good Guys for $1,299.

Totally useless product - constantly disappointed

published

This fridge has been constantly unreliable - water leaking frequently from underneath, freezing the vegetables to ruination, impossible to control the temperature, a collection of black powder near the bottom door hinge, refrigerator door that seems maligned. And to make matters worse, trying to get service from Hisense within the warranty period but they “couldn’t help because of COVID” (yeah, this is a popular excuse these days). They’ve got one more chance to rectify the issues with this unmerchantable product and then it’s a consumer affairs job. All the same, I steer clear of this brand name now when purchasing products. This thing is a lemon.

Does what a fridge should and that’s it

published

A basic fridge/freezer, but maintains perfect temperatures when set to -20C and 3C.
Super Cool and Super Freeze modes are convenient for when you need to freeze or set something quickly, like jelly.
Interior is quite easy to clean, as is the exterior stainless steel finish, which only requires a wipe over with microfibre cloth.

The freezer light was DOA but our last freezer didn’t have a light so it hasn’t really bothered me...
You have to close the fridge door VERY gently or it will force the freezer door open; but I was able to mitigate this by adjusting the front legs a bit higher.

Purchased in at JB Hifi Home for $1,099.
