Failblazer and the non existance of Holdens former Glory
I bought my Trailblazer in November of 2018 as my wife and I decided to Part ways with my VF SS Storm due to having the larger family and a V8 couldn't fit us all.
We were sold the LT Trailblazer- in fact all of the models of this line as being better than our Toyota Prado, more versatile than any other 7 seater cars on the market and the best value for money especially when it came to reliability and operatibility.
Since owning the car we have had nothing but dramas;

Just a great Car
Not much I can say, but fantastic Car.
Had zero issues and the car is a dream to drive, compared to my old Mitsubishi Triton MQ.
I have the Trailblazer Storm MY20 apart from very minor things like cup holder size, I cannot not fault it.
I just wish someone can explain how to get to the top dash speaker, so I can upgrade it, which I do to all my cars.
Great for towing and cursing across this great country of ours....
2 year review after 35,000km
Fantastic car. I preferred the Everest on test drive but for $12,000 saving went with the trailblazer. Tried the Pajero sport but felt cramped. Haven't regretted at all.
Here's been the issues all in the first month
1. Auto window opening had a problem. Was sticky and stayed open.
2. Reverse sensor went off with towball in place.
Took back to Holden and they immediately fixed both no questions with pretty good service. Took a return trip with the window.

Rock solid build, great on highway, poor turning abilities, poor visibility
Bough a second hand 2015 colorado 7 it's a great car to drive but it comes with a couple of major down falls. The car is firstly fantastic on the highway and it's awesome on fuel economy, we took ours across Australia and got 900kms to a rank of fuel, not towing anything. The car feels Rock solid, but it has very poor steering and handling abilities and its turning circle is even worse. We had a very unpleasant accelerator pedal problem, that gave us a sore foot and leg on the pushing motion, not sure what that was about, we had the mechanic lo...ok at it but it seemed that problem could not be fixed, eventually that's why we got rid of it. Mechanical it's diesel engine us flawless, the only negative is its inability to take off when you need it to be a bit speedy. So with more than 220000km on the clock this car still service at a low cost, only had the diesel enjectors cleaned once. The thing we disliked the most is how stiff the body of the car was and how bumpy and poor it responded to rough road surfaces, not pleasant at all. So I can only give it one star on the ground of the poor visibility, poor handling and steering and its stiff body. Could I recommend this car to anyone? The answer would be No.

Powerful tough family hauler
Having bought a 2.5ton caravan we needed a car capable of towing it comfortably. With a young child and potential for more children in the future, we needed something with room to grow as well.
The Trailblazer stood out for us amongst the competition as having more power, better steering, better safety and significantly better value for money.
We have loved the child restraint points which are on the seat backs and easy to access, not a given in this class of car. Also it easily fits 3 car seats in the middle row. I fit in the third row of ...seats at 183cm tall, and a stroller and a couple of bags can still fit in the remaining boot space with 7 seats in use. Whilst there are no child seat anchorages for the third row, there is an option for fitting them using an accredited fitter and utilising existing bolt holes. Unfortunately the tumble mechanism for the middle row doesn’t allow much movement with child seats installed, and the split rear seat has the 60% on the kerb side making it hard to leave 2 seats installed whilst maintaining access to the third row without sending kids out on the road to enter. The boot floor is a little high off the ground but space is good, the seats fold easily and there’s a handy storage compartment easily accessible. The trailblazer happily tows our caravan with a decisive transmission that doesn’t hunt for the right gear even down changes when decending hills automatically for engine braking. It tows happily at the speed limit, overtakes effortlessly and always has plenty of power in reserve, and can maintain good pace even up the steep hills around Adelaide. The engine revs about 1600 in 6th, 2100 in 5th and 2600 in 4th at 100kph. It can hold top gear comfortably on the flat with the van on the back keeping noise levels to a minimum, but even when working hard up steep hills it stays smooth and relatively quiet. You can use manual mode to be more selective but I have found the auto to do such a good job I barely use it. There is a little turbo lag from standstill but the torque kicks in hard from just over 1500rpm so it’s only a momentary issue! Stability is great even in strong cross winds, although the read suspension sags a bit with 250kg tow ball down load so we use a weight distribution hitch and are considering getting airbag suspension assist on the rear. The ride is firm but nicely controlled, and the steering is very sharp and car like! Handling is very good considering it’s a tall suv, and it is fun to drive hard on a twisty road! The simple part time 4wd system works effectively though I haven’t been too far off road, it has worked well on dirt tracks and simple 4wd tracks.

Flawless except for the tow bar issue
I bought a Trailblazer Col 7 2016 and it has been amazing, I have done 100,000 km in two years and still drives like it is brand new...powerful, good on fuel, and super comfortable. The only issue I have had, and others have had too, is when I have my tow bar on (no matter what configuration, drop bar etc) the reversing sensors just keep going off...drives me nuts. Holden just flog me off, Wollongong Holden in Fairy Meadow is the worst. Their solution, just take your tow bar set up off? serious, i am constantly hooking on trailers, vans etc. Anyway, love it love it.
We purchased the ltz in 2016 and had some minor issues. The windows function which open to help when closing the door failed. Great when it is raining!!! But the biggest disappointment is the lack of support in the seats. We both get back aches and there is not enough support under your knees. Great to tow with and drive but comfort comes first. Surely holden can do better with adjustable seats

Great Vehicle Great Value
I wrote a review on this vehicle not long back this is a follow up. I purchased this car in June and have just returned from a 10,000 k trip to Queensland where I drove it in all conditions, it performed beyond my expectations. It is a capable four wheel drive when needed and a great family car on the road, quiet, comfortable and loads of power will tow a large van or trailer at a hundred k with no effort it has all the features you would require in a car and more. The Bluetooth and GPS performed without a hitch and air con was great. They say ...it does not have a diff lock, not true, it has, but it works different to others. Off roaders seam to think that if they don't have a button to push it's no good, all that counts is that it works. If I have a problem with it it will be the position of the USB port in the centre console, if you drop something heavy into it you would damage things, the USB needs to go into the dash somewhere but that's just nitpicking. Overall this vehicle is tops with me it never even looked like going wrong and I don't treat my cars gently.
Can't fault it so far
So far can't fault this car I have read all the reviews on this vehicle and I fined that all of the negativity pointed at it is untrue.
It is smooth on the road it is quiet it is powerful it is comfortable and I would recommend it to anyone.
This vehicle has come of age if you are in the market for a vehicle that will do almost anything at a budget price do yourself a favour and go for a test drive.

Quiet, very good acceleration, seat warmers are awesome, the technology on the dashboard is really great how it does Apple Car-play and Android Auto, and LOADS and LOADS of room in the 1st and 2nd row but the 3rd row doesn't have as much, and it is really good how the drivers seat goes back and forth and up and down.
OK but not great
Vehicle now has 76000km on it, mostly on road & no towing, so easy life. No issues with motor, fuel consumtion as expected, handles well for a 4x4 wagon.
Roomy inside and comfortable, third row seats are easy to access.
Hard cabin plastic easily scratched.
Oil leaks from tranmision and drive train & faulty wiper motor fixed under warranty, but only after being fobbed off by dealer for a quite some time.
Leather in front seats cracks and peels after little use, this is not covered by Holden warranty as it is considered wear and tear. ( Fit...
Love our Trailblazer!!!
Purchased our Trailblazer 6 months ago and have racked up 10 000kms on it.
Absolutely brilliant. Such a pleasure to drive on the road and even down at the beach.
Average fuel around 9.5L/100ks. Great to have 7 seats and have had adults use the 3rd row seats with plenty of room for them.
For the price, compared to other 4wds in its range, you cant beat the value for money in this car. All the features you could ask for and plenty of power out of the duramax.
Would have been nice if it came stock with some all terrains, but with new tyres and a 2 inch lift, this is a great off road vehicle as well.
I love my car!
Best car we could have chosen. 7 seats and all 7 seats comfortable. Us adults often climb in the back. Can fit 3 car seats along 2nd row easy. Cheap to run and servicing cheap as well. This car has never let us down. My favourite cosmetic fesature is the heated car seats makes the cold trip to work easier. The only problem we have had with the car is the usb port is in the centre concoul and can get knocked and damaged easily!!!
Good 4wd with adjustments
On road our 2015 Colorado 7 is a very good vehicle. Good acceleration, a little noisy down the gears but cruises and handles quite well. Off road it could do with a bit more under body clearance. Just got back from Fraser Island. Hadn't rained a while and so the sand was like powder. We were caught out a few times becoming perched with the tyres going nowhere and were winched off the second time. The problem was clearance so a good high profile all terrain tyre and a few bucks on a lift kit will solve that off road problem. Over all we are very happy with our purchase.
Versatile and comfortable 4wd
The Colorado 7 is a great 4wd for families wanting to explore. It has great power with the highest torque out of the comparable SUV 4WDs. There is plenty of space in the back unless you are using all 7 seats. We generally get 10l/100km around the city and lower on the highway. It has performed very well off road even with the standard highway tyres.
I wouldn't buy it as a city SUV, because it drives like a big 4wd. The Holden factory accessories are extremely expensive and for me are priced way out of the market. There can be significant acceleration lag in some circumstances.

I find it a bit gutless especially up hills..it's very economical though and roomy and comfortable. We do lots of driving and have even slept in our car and find its good but would love it to be more powerful. We use manual override function quite a bit and that helps.

The LTZ trailblazer is one of the best purchases we have make this decade. The joy to drive and the space as a passenger is more than perfect. The colours available and the optional extras are endless. This SUV compared to its rival the MU-X is miles ahead in aesthetics and performance. Don't waste your time on anything else in the SUV range

The auto in this is flaring terribly and although the service manager at a dealership that I bought it from has experienced it with my car and others has been unable to find out if it is a problem across the board.
This problem and it is a problem needs sorting before anyone buys one of these especially if you plan to tow anything because it is even more extreme.

Hi, few questions please. I have a 2017 Trailblazer LTZ. My questions are:
1- why do the indicators double flash when I’m locking the car, even when I’ve not had any windows or other doors open?
2- why does the radio display sometimes show the song title and artist and other times doesn’t?
3- why does the radio display stick/jam on a particular setting when it’s recently been really cold temperatures? E.g. I have local radio station name but where it says either radio station description or the artist/band info, it’s showing the song that played last week when the temperature was really cold.
Any ideas gratefully received.
