I have a 2012 RG manual colorado I'm getting oil in my coolant reservoir just seeing if there is anyone other problems that may cause this before I assume a head gasket.

My 2012 colorado rg 2.8 is running really rough and has knocking and grinding noise coming from either the engine or gearbox it only does it when idling , it drives ok and changes gears ok it's a manual 4x4
How many kls has it done
Glow plugs,, ? If not them, fuel pressure reg.

Serious sign. Might be losing coolant due to overheating, a hidden leak into the oil, or you are missing the leak. Coolant can be going into cylinders and out the exhaust pipe. Do a pressure test on radiator. Take to a qualified mechanic.
My 2012 colarado just stopped there winding noise but it wouldn’t start nrma had tow it in town wat is the problem
The NRMA will have an idea Wayne. They will tow it to a mechanic who will be able to put the reader on it and find out more. The main thing with any mechanical thing is to use it only for its designed purpose and to regularly have it maintained. Modern vehicles are quite durable and well designed but Murphy is always ready to throw a spanner into the works for maximum inconvenience. I can't tell you what the problem is but you can find folks who can do that for you. All the best.

Any posts on gearbox failure? My Ute displayed a light vibration similar to rough idle, dealer no help. Box has presented a solid rattle and thump at idle. No indication at 60 to 70 km. Mechanic has advised gearbox is stuffed and be replaced. Anyone else experience this gearbox issue. 2013 LT. Mostly CITY driving. Travelled Perth to Darwin 2019 no issues ran like a dream. Recently replaced starter motor as starter clutch would not engage. Otherwise ok.

Just having the same issue with starting. With a starter battery connected as well by RACQ it engaged and started. Has started OK since. Suggestion by RACQ of sand in starter from beach driving. Still investigating. Gearbox is good - no problems - 33,000 km - owned RG 4*4 since new March 2013.
Gearbox replaced plus heavy duty clutch conversion kit done. $5k. Ouch
