Holden Roadside Assistance

Shocking – They cancelled my roadside without my knowledge only to find out when I broke down and their excuse was “oh your service history wasn’t updated “ like it was my fault! After many calls and proving all my up to date services they just wanted to wash their hands. Now I’ve sold my car so I don’t have to deal with them anymore. Honestly disgusting and so disappointing. I’m glad to see the back of Holden and unfortunately I wouldn’t buy another one because of the terrible dealings. Holden has really lost their reputation and respect of many loyal customers.
Thank you,Melissa for Holden Roadservice Assistance for dispatching a help quickly and also the guy who changed my tyre – Fast, quick, courteous service provided by Melissa who took the call and the friend guy who came and changed my tyre. Sorry I forgot your name. Thank you both for your help. I really appreciate it.
Be great to use if I could get through – My Car won’t start. I’ve Been on hold and not even spoken with a human for 25 minutes now. 38 degree day, with a baby. Abysmal. What a useless ‘feature’.
Disgusting experience – Friday 26/3/21 I had to stop driving due to a very flat punctured tyre just after the traffic lights about 50metres below the crest on Burntbridge Rd Seaforth heading to Brookvale. I was in the bus lane and put on my hazard lights it was 5.55pm. It was concerning as speed limit is 60kms in my rear vision mirror I see Buses and trucks were coming as I watched them coming down the crest of the road where I had no choice but to pull over in a no stopping lane and a very dangerous and unsafe place, it was peak time everyone going home worried a bus may smash in to my car as they drive fast. I phoned Holden Road Side Assistance call centre at 6.01pm gave my details to the women, Then a Police car came emergency lights on and parked behind me further out to the right of my car to warn traffic. The Officers a male and female were very nice and helpful in they were able to clarify the name of the Road and talk to the women instructed her to send assistance and the car was in an unsafe spot which I had already informed her can she send NRMA as matter of urgency. The Police spoke said they can call NSW emergency breakdown who can be here shortly and that it can be billed to them and found we having a debate about it and the fact I was in a dangerous spot fell on deaf ears the call centre woman said she will talk to someone and she didn't come back 14 mins 3 sec later I hung up and called again and had to repeat myself all over again to another woman the Officers spoke to her also and she too had to speak to someone. During the time the Officer had called the NSW Road Rescue emergency truck arrived the 2 men were very friendly they reassured me they will change my tyre and get me on the road again, made me so relieved and grateful that the came and said they will not charge they were only to happy to help. Meanwhile a Supervisor had come on I said I was not happy at the length of time it had taken to get assist although they had all said NRMA will be here within 90 minutes more than once it had not registered to them I was in a very dangerous and unsafe place is was very concerning. The Supervisor then suggested sending another contractor out I said
I had first called at 6.01pm and the time now is nearly 7pm No joking that second conversation according to phone records had taken 39 minutes 60 sec. I also said to the call centre so did the Police it will be dark soon which will make it more dangerous. I think myself so lucky that the Police and NSW Road Rescue had come to my rescue can't thank them all enough. This call centre staff involved there were 3 are in competent as they don't have the skills to make timely and safe decisions putting people's lives at risk shouldn't be there. There needs to be some accountability and this seriously needs to be addressed before something serious occurs.
Roadside Assistance - "We Have Your Back" Not – On Saturday my car started to misfire, I was 27 km from home. I didn't want to drive any further as the engine warning lights came on and said get service. Just on a side note it was 38 degrees outside. I called Holden and they said an RACV man would come out in 40 - 70 minutes. They also told me if it needed towing because it was the weekend it would have to go to a holding yard and they would deliver it to my dealer on Monday. They also said that I would get a $55 taxi voucher which was fair enough. The RACV man arrived 10 minutes later, brilliant. He took a quick look and said he thought it was one of the 8 ignition coils but couldn't get the parts so he'd get the car towed. He said I could get towed home or to my local dealer and said I would have a 2 - 3 hour wait for a truck. About 1 hour later, Nationwide towing called and they said that they were busy and it may be another 2 -3 hours and I had changed the destination and they could only tow me 20km? I added that I hadn't stated a destination and she disagreed and said I changed it. 30 minutes later, I receive a text from the RACV to say a truck will be there within 30 minutes. The truck arrived 20 minutes later and the driver took me 20 km and left me at the side of the road. I had to drive my car with badly misfiring engine to my house.
So, in conclusion I was never given any definite information, I had to deal with three different organisations and currently my car has been at home for three days and I'm still awaiting an appointment for the warranty work to fix it.
Holden Roadside Assist, my advice if it's free take it but, don't pay for it. Stick with the RACV instead, they are much better. If you must have Holden Roadside Assist don't travel further than 20km or it's useless.
