Comprehensive Car InsuranceI cannot comment on the product offered but I can comment on Youi's lack of competitive rates for my circumstance, which was a minimally used 3-year old 4x4 kept in a locked garage with agreed value in middle of market range.
I spent a significant amount of time going through a tedious quoting regime which began with a fairly relaxed online quoting portion and ended up being a 30-40 minute phone interview where I am pretty sure my entire identity can now be cloned.

Comprehensive Car InsuranceLikea couple of others I tried to get an online quote for my pending vehicle insurance. I filled in all the boxes etc online and then got a phone call asking me for the same information etc etc so I ended the conversation..what a lot of rigmarole to get a quote

Bad Experience
Comprehensive Car Insurance4 months (and still waiting) is what YOUI deem an acceptable repair time for their customers. Work vehicle required repair approx 3 hours from metro office. Lodged the claim and had no response. We rung them and were told they don’t have suppliers near that atea and we would have to personally ring around to find a repairer for YOUI.
We did this and asked over 5 seperate times if we could have the vehicle towed back to metro location to use their supplier network. No one listened and no one talks to each other internally.

YOUI have zero quality control and zero coordination and management and don’t seem to care what happens. After pressing them again they agreed to tow the vehicle back to metro location once it’s fixed. We then reiterated why did they not tow it originally where it would have been repaired in 4-6 weeks with a large supplier network. Instead they make us wait 4 months (still not fixed) for a work vehicle to be fixed to then tow it back. Poor internal communication, poor communications from YOUI and assessor’s not speaking directly with paying customers to get the full picture of what’s going on. Like I said before, once they have your money the care factor goes out the window. You get a generic text or call from a customer service agent every now and again who has no idea what’s going. We have approx 8 policies with YOUI and will be changing after this drama has ended. Cheaper is definitely not better. You get what you pay for at the end of the day. The financial loss of not having this vehicle on the road for 4 months is beyond unacceptable.Read the fine print else get ripped off
Comprehensive Car InsuranceJust cancelled my motor vehicle comprehensive policy as I sold the car as we only need 1 car in the family now. Youi charged $22 cancellation fee. After 7 years of continuous insurance with Youi, loyalty stood for naught.
"Youi stands for You Insured "- until you dispose of the insured asset then "Youi stands for ripped off"
What a bad taste and PR for 22 bucks. Thank Youi, never going near Youi or recommending it again.

Comprehensive Car InsuranceI decided to get an alternative quote when my car insurance came up for renewal with a 15% increase. Youi quoted less than I was previously paying with more benefits included so I signed up and have been with them for almost 2 years now. Car InsuranceI wanted to share a recent experience I had with Youi car insurance, and I feel it's important to advise potential consumers to think twice before choosing them.
On November 11th 2023, my car met with an unfortunate incident - someone crashed into it with a fire hydrant, causing extensive damage to the rear passenger door, roof, and glass. The car was towed away, and the police conducted a thorough investigation, leaving me with a report of the incident.

Comprehensive Car InsuranceI got into an accident last Thursday and put my claim through on the same day. My car was assessed on Friday morning, my excess was waived today and I got a hire car booked in a call shorter than 5 minutes. I have only been with Youi for a couple of months and they have surpassed my expectations at every turn. Every interaction I’ve had with them, from taking up my policy to making my claim, has been a breeze and everyone I have chatted to has been friendly and more than helpful!

Waste of time with getting an online quote
Car InsuranceSpent 20 minutes putting my details in their website for car insurance, a min later a guy with Indian accent called, asking me date of birth and full name. I asked him where are you physically located. He said that he is in South Africa. I told him I had put my details into the youi website. He insisted me to told him my personal details. I wasn't comfortable with that and ended the conversation.
At the end I still had not received a quote, waste of time. Don't know if this is a scam. An Indian guy in South Africa. Not worth the risk.

Comprehensive Car InsuranceFilled in online quote. Already filled in more information than I needed for a competitor. Asks for my phone number for 'verification'. Next page pops up "It's time to talk. We're about to call you with your premium price, and explain the great value you'll get." Guy calls me, asking me more questions. I explain I'm just trying to compare prices, I haven't bought the car yet. He continues on the script "Does the car have damage, when do you want it to start?". Again, I just want a price. He gets it, "Okay I'll send you a link with the price". I receive no link. Aggressive marketing and a waste of time.

Comprehensive Car InsuranceI have enquired with Youi after theyve been recommended by a friend. Whilst i second the sentiments of others who may not b happy abt follow up phone calls, i appreciate the time i spent with a Youi rep. We've been able to customise the policy. It wasnt a long phone call. 20mins tops of you have no further questions. Tip: if you sign up on the web best to do it after office hrs, they have reps until evening. The one I spoke to was on shift until 9pm. My work finishes at 8pm. I actually didnt expect a phone call after work.
My policy has road side assist, and price is lower than the my previous insurer without road side assist.

Comprehensive Car InsuranceWas in a no fault accident resulting in car write off. It's never a fun process to go through but all things considered communication was good, I was kept in the loop and staff were pleasant to deal with. The only down side is the whole process dragged out a bit (5-6 weeks), so it would be worth while having hire car in your policy.
