1)Premium almost doubled in year 2
2) Call centre takes 1 hour to answer your call if its relating to existing policy but picks up the phone within 5 minutes if its to discuss a new quote Show details

300% price increase year 2 no explanation

Very disappointing. Switched to them 12 months ago for a competitive rate then receive a 300% premium hike from $245/month to $708/ month for year 2. The renewal notice sent by email attached the new quote but didn't even mention the enormous increase let alone give any explanation. Obviously they don't want my business. Also while they make it easy to sign up online it's impossible to cancel online. But cancel I will as soon as I can get someone to answer their phone. Show details

Claim struggle

Maybe convenient price but high premium and really really bad and slow (2 months, ongoing)at managing claims. Prefer paying couple of hundreds more for peace of mind with a more reputable company.
Auto-renewal difficult to undo, not able to do online( almost like they don't want you to)must call them and wait for an hour or so and hopefully you can sort it out.
I won't suggest it. Show details

Free smart sensors and switching policy type was easy

Received a quote super fast - they use tech to get the details of your place so no running around trying to work out the exact materials of my roof etc. I also received free smart sensors that have come in handy when there was a small leak in my laundry - the sensor sent me a message as soon as it detected it and I was able to sort it out before it became a bigger problem.
Recently I called them to change my home and contents to landlord insurance on the property. It was a smooth and easy process to do and had a great chat with the woman on the phone (I forgot her name, sorry!). All in all, I've been pretty happy with them. Show details

Very dodgy business practices

In my opinion this company either has woeful systems, or at worst is deliberating dishonest in their dealings. I received a renewal notice that was ballpark 250% higher. About 3 weeks before the renewal I emailed advising I did not wish to renew. They acknowledged my email, but on what would have been the renewal still charged my credit card over $4,200. I immediately advised them of their error. I received an email stating they had now cancelled the policy and would process the refund. Guess how long it takes to get the money they illegally debited from my credit card - up to 15 business day, yep 3 weeks (21 days) to give back the money they had no right to charge. That means the credit card needs to be paid. Show details

Smooth Claim process

As a first time claimer I was very impressed with the process and responsiveness from the team. It was a straight forward process and relatively quick and painless. Show details

Honey has been amazing

First home buyer so honey is the only home insurance company I've personally dealt with and they have been amazing. All of these bad reviews make me wonder how good the other insurance companies must be. Honey's sign up process is very easy. The staff have all been amazing. We've made a claim recently and they're so supportive, they keep me informed, with some advice from one of the first responders to enquire about if they could help me with accommodation and they made that happen and I'm not even sure if I was covered for that. Without them I don't know where I'd be right now. The only insurance I've ever dealt with was a WorkCover claim that destroyed any faith I had in insurance but honey has restored that. Show details
