Excellent – I am surprised at the negative reviews on this cleaner. I have had mine over 5 years now and am very happy with it. The suction on it is great, I am surprised I still have carpet left to clean! Yes, the main filter is fiddly to clean, but it is a bagless, what bagless unit doesnt have a filter like this?? It is a bit heavy but I find that a… Read more

positive as it doesnt twist around here and there like the Volta it replaced. My only dislike is the short hose it is fitted with. The unit always seems to be under your ankles. But this doesnt detract from its performance. Overall performance. Short hose.

Don't waste your time and money – I was talked into this by a salesman after i said i wanted something that would suck up the hair of a dog and cat that both shed hair. It was great to begin with but lost suction after a few months. I found i had to clean the filters all the time (they are hard to buy and when you can they were pricey - about $30!!!). I find i empty the… Read more

canister after every room otherwise there is no suction what so ever. The other head pieces are attached to the hose and fall off constantly. (lost somewhere now) Will never buy a Hoover again

Do not recommend any one to purchase – Used for house cleaning used 1 hour weekly, wheels break off, suction hose both ends slpit out, vacuum power is ok, plastic material that attaches wheel and hose to body very poor quality. After sales Godfry is un friedly, very stobborn and charge heaps just to look at the machine. Keep out of Godfy in Wellington Good suction power Plastic atachments to the body very poor quality keeps splitting and breaking

worst vacuum cleaner i've ever used – My parents bought this 4 years ago for me (From godfreys) when I moved house. It has been to say the least the worst Vacuum cleaner i've ever used, we used to use an old hoover vacuum cleaner with the bag and everything which was from the 80s/90s. That worked much better than this despite being 20 years old. It's suction is pathetic, it is a… Read more

heavy useless vacuum that takes up space and the attachments are quite poor.

As the other reviewers have said I'll put this one down to poor design, poor quality workmanship and to say the least, i'm not going to listen (or let my parents listen) to what the salesman says next time.

am heading overseas now to buy a dyson because im fed up with the prices and the range of godfreys

Terrible – I absolutely agree with the other reviewers here. I bought this vacuum over 2 years ago and wish I just spent my money on a cheap bag vacuum instead as I think it would have done a better job. I've got a very small home and therefore I would not have used it to it's max. The filters get dirty very quickly and I constantly need to clean them. I… Read more

tried to buy a new filter but could not get one anywhere. Was told in a shop to bring in the vacuum cleaner so they could see what sort of a filter I needed, so they could order one for me. Thought it would be enough just to tell them it was a white Hoover 2000 vacuum cleaner. The hose now keeps coming off the machine itself and it's hard to get back on properly.

Overall it's a waster of your money. I'm saving up to get a Dyson which I can see has got good ratings and hopefully I'll have a better experience with it. It looks cool and doesn't use a bag. Lost suction very quickly and need to clean the filters all the time, is also falling apart now after 2 years.

OK – had for few years, still goes ok, i clean out filter with a air compresser after a few uses. Had nothing go wrong with it yet. easy to use. bagless. don't have to spend more money on bags. adjustable wand for heigh poor suction because of badly design filter, hard to clean out. tools on handle fall off if bump, not very good clips to hold them.

Terrible – Overall i am very disapointed in this vacuum, i bought it because i thought Hoover was a reliable brand... I havent even had it 6 months before things started to fall off it (power button) the hose kinks constantly which results in splits all through the pipe, every time i taped one up more would appear. it doesnt maneouver that well at all hits… Read more

into everything. The lever that adjusts the height of the handle broke off not long after use so the handle constantly slips down when vacuuming very annoying and dangerous. Very disappointed wont be buying a hoover again. easy to empty the dust Hose is tinny and kinks every time you vacuum and splits constantly. attachments fall out all the time. lver that adjusts handle gets stuck all the time, and fell off not long after it was purchased.

Terrible – Was o.k. while it lasted, although it struggled to get dog hair out of carpet and when the engine blew up it threw out a plume of black powder from the back which took ages to clean up and left the whole house smelling of burnt electrics. I purchased this from Godfreys which would be the last place I would go to to buy a vacuum cleaner, purchased… Read more

a Nilfisk replacement from The Good Guys and its much better, and it cost the same new as it would have cost to fix the Hoover. Easy to empty container with a large capacity. Lasted only two years before the engine blew up, warranty only 1 year.

Terrible – This review probably applies to any bagless vac out there that is not of Dyson caliber... Purchased this without researching, unfortunately. Thought bagless was a convenient solution until I realised how messy this hoover is. The filter must be cleaned after or before every usage or suction is gone. And what a messy job that is. After two years… Read more

the hose has snapped twice and the plastic part that fits in the metal end tube broke as well. The dust canister filter hoder has broken after knocking the filter against the inside of the bin to get all the trapped dust out. After trying to mend and keep the vac going the hose has now finally snapped completely. Strongly considering buying a Dyson now. WARNING if you are buying bagless you need to fork out for a Dyson or equivalent - otherwise buy a tried and tested bagged vac.

Bottom line: I thought Hoover was a decent brand and we paid 299 for the vac whcih should indicate that one is paying for something decent. A vaccuum cleaner at that price should last longer than 2 years... Especillay when it comes to the parts that take all the beating, such as the hose itself!!!

Deeply disappointed.

Poor quality. Completely broken after 2 years

Bad – DON'T BUY!!! Seems like a good idea at first glance but unless you enjoy constantly cleaning or buying filters or like a vacuum that sucks but doesn't suck! Light and manouverable. Filters need to be cleaned (fiddly, dirty and annoying) every time used, otherwise zero suction!!! Even after cleaning suction is often terrible!!

Terrible – very disappointed. blew up after less then 2 years. i have polished floors so it was hardly used to its full capacity. filter was hopeless unless it was cleaned to within an inch of its life. paid too much for it and will now never buy another Hoover again. Boo! easy to empty, looks ok. thought Hoover was a reputable brand. suction poor and gets worse with each use, tools fell off the first time and never stayed on after that
