hoover for a refund because every time it gets sent back + forth thru FedEx I have to take a day off work let them in + then they don't rock up till next day, so I take 2 days off! But hoover say I have to get refund back from Godfrey's who don't exist anymore??? So now I'M Warning all of you to buy a Bissell instead!!! This is all stressful as well! faulty motor and 13 months later its done the exact same thing and now out of warranty and want nothing to do with it, I got it with the free carpet cleaning solution and still have 2 bottles left so not like i used it alot, I would never recommend this company as they are not worth the big money you pay, I us3d a friends shark carpet cleaner and cheaper and does a much better job on the carpet then the hoover oner ever did so do NOT waist your money on hoover you will be disappointed.

arrange for it to be picked up for a refund and I would get an email within 24 hours from a company for a pick up of the machine, well I still waiting.
Follow-up · I haven’t used it since doing 2 rooms due to the amount of water it used, as I said my carpet was soaking wet, I am still waiting for it to be picked up and a refund given. I am a pensioner and I saved for a year to buy it, what a fundamental waste of my money.

I'm Super impressed with the machine it'self. I vacuumed before using my fabulous smartwash and what it still picked up after was astonishing. The spot chaser was a little disappointing, I expected a wider spray, the tiny stream of solution that squirts out was quite inefficient unfortunately but over all I'm still very happy with it. our carpet. It looked like a professional clean. The large wheels ensure it’s easy to manoevre and not having a trigger to hold is a bonus. The cord is a great length too. My favourite function is the dry only function. I love watching the machine pull the water out of the carpet and you can do it as much as you like. Just be sure to keep an eye on the dirty water tank as it ‘pops’ to tell u it needs emptying otherwise the machine stops sucking up the water. First use we were a bit slow to realise why it had stopped sucking. After emptying all was good. We would highly recommend after using this machine about 6 times now. It performs really well.
I am really surprised and very please by the result – I have used carpet cleaners before but they were not as easy to use as the SMART WASH. pressed down, that lets you suck up more dirty water when going over the whole surface of the carpet again like with a vacuum cleaner. When I emptied the dirty water bottle I was amazed at how much water had been sucked up and how dirty the water was. I did this work in the early afternoon and to my surprise the carpets were dry in the morning and looked nice and clean. Letting my furry friend come inside, and she has a coat that is shedding hair, this SMART WASH Carpet CLEANER was the best thing I ever bought to keep my carpets clean.

the bag for the attachments - simple but so worthwhile. The 'dry only' feature is great for removing the water and the carpet dries overnight. I highly recommend the Hoover SmartWash.

Fantastic customer service – After a nightmare dealing with Bissell I decided to try my luck with a Hoover instead. Really so pleased I did. Terrifying – Only used my hoover smartwash a total of 4 times. On the 4th time water ran through the motor and I was electrocuted...luckily it was only a zap, but if I had of had my hand gripped near the water id be dead. The worst brand carpet cleaner – I have had this brand and then the pet one simalair to this carpet cleaner and within two months had broken motors blow up on me. I emailed Hoover who gave me the worst customer service telling me I had to somehow obtain exactly the right size box , the correct packaging materials , weigh the machine and have it sent off!! Straight away I had anxiety as I am not a packaging company that has their specific sized box, I do not have packaging materials to protect and I do not have scaled to weigh the Machine! They don’t even know the weight of their own machines?? used it for the second time today and even though it went through 1 whole tank of water & cleaned very well, it did not remove any of the dirty water and again, I have a very damp carpet. to be cleaned out of the rollers and clear front suction unit a few times while cleaning. This was after me vacuuming the beige carpets before using the machine.
When I turned my split system heater on for about 30 minutes the carpet dried quickly.
The only thing a bit difficult I found, was knowing where to put the chord when pulling the machine backwards. I felt like I had to keep trying to get it out of the way when I was pulling the machine back in 'dry' mode.
Works well for a 2 bedroom unit and the 5 bottles of cleaner provided will last me a while. For a large house, perhaps not so.
I did call customer service as I thought the unit wasn't working properly and they immediately prepared a return and replacement slip. The lady was lovely on the phone. No issues.
I purchased during the Black Friday sale so saved $100. Am I impressed with the unit? Yes.
Worthwhile purchase very satisfied – Bought this recently it replaced my old hoover carpet cleaner. I spent weeks researching what to buy and finally settled on this. It has done a great job of cleaning my carpets and rugs and that of my mother. I live out of town on a dirt road and this machine did a great job and made my house smell clean and fresh. My only concern now in a after reading all the other comments and reviews about the problems some have had after using it once or twice and it seems not much help from Hoover. I do hope that if something does go wrong I will be looked after and can continue using this amazing machine for our small apartment giving good feedback every time. Really poor after sales service – I borrowed this from a friend and managed to misplace the clean water cap. Totally got the run around from Hoover, their local reseller and the retailer trying to replace it. as it's a different model number. The piece on the Hoover website costs USD0.99 but they won't ship to Australia. The 'customer service' lady at the Hoover reseller then took even more of my time by complaining to me at length that she gets so many calls about this and that people are rude to her. I can understand their perspective. I wasn't rude but I am hopping mad. Australia really needs right to repair legislation to force retailers and manufacturers to service their customers properly.
In terms of product performance - things do look much cleaner after you use it but it can't remove stains and does leave the item very wet. It's a a bit rough so I wouldn't use it for anything delicate, but ok for the kind of robust carpet and furniture you have if you have little kids and pets. If you do decide to buy one, don't use it on anything delicate and get on to spills quickly (while they're still wet/fresh) and then I think it's worth it. After borrowing this one I'm looking to buy one for my home but because of the extremely poor after sales service I won't be buying this brand.

Took a while to get repaired, then the second time we used it the shampoo dripped down the machine and pooled into the handle part and towards the motor. Called Godfreys and they stated that they could change the bottle or replace the unit. But haven't heard back. The staff member also stated that maybe the leaking could have caused the issue in the first place.
Great for cleaning pet stains – We got the smartwash PET and had been using it for 4 months. It does a great job pulling dirt away from the carpet. The photos from the 60 weeks solution doesnt match what we got. We only got 3 bottles of solutions while in the photo there were like 10 to 12 bottles. I also don’t think those 3 bottles will last 60 weeks unless you only use the cleaner once every month for a small room. Show details
