Hornet Pest Management

Word of warning – In 2020 we paid $3,740 for an EXTERRA termite baiting and monitoring system after surviving a nasty termite invasion. We had 43 stations installed around a big property. After a year the pest management company changed hands and there was a new person who came to the property every 12 weeks to check the pots. Unfortunately, he wasn't checking… Read more
all the pots and I was paying $1000 per year for this service. The pots that were not obvious, had disintegrating attracting wood panels and mud covering the top where the attractant panels should be inserted - highlighting the pots were not being checked - this was over 1.5 year time frame. I contacted other pest management services and they wouldn't take over because they hadn't installed them. So then I contacted the company Ensystex to request if I could buy the Exterra tool which opens the posts so I could check them myself and call my pest person if I detected termites - my pest person agreed to this. I advised the Area manager of our situation and that we have paid many thousands of dollars for this service, which was inadequate and now wanted to do it ourselves. He replied "Unfortunately, we don't sell Exterra components to the public only to licensed and accredited pest professional managers as baiting and monitoring systems is a multi step management process". In other words, lets pretend that it requires skill to open up a pot and check if termites are there so we can keep scamming people out of fear of termites. If I had my time again, I would have done my research and never would have purchased a termite product that would tie me to expensive and poor service. We have discontinued this service and will check the pots ourselves, I had just believed that the company Ensystex would acknowledge that we were not receiving the service we were paying for and help us but clearly not, so beware of this product "Exterra".
