Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne

Perfect inner-city location for walking to China Town, multiple restaurants and main shopping centre. Staff pleasant and helpful, our room well presented and was serviced each of the three days we were there (a rarity these days even in much higher priced accommodation) Buffet breakfast offerings fresh and extensive. Only suggestions would be for the fresh cut fruit to be smaller chunks and some judicious clearing of used plates from table during dining would improve the experience. Will be top of our list when next in Melbourne

Checking in was too easy. Kindly requested an upgrade for our special occassion and after the staff checked with the manager we were easily upgraded to a larger room. Room was large. Included all toiletries including shaver, toothbrushes etc. Had gowns, large wardrobe, tv, fridge with long life full cream milk and plenty of tea & coffee. Windows were huge and we were able to open the windows which was great for fresh air. After checking in & dropping off our luggage we went for a walk. On our return, we found a large Wine Bottle in an icebucket with 2 slim long stemmed wine glasses (thankYOU). We had breakfast on our last day. It was the usual continental breakfast at most hotels & was good value at their $25 special. Our last night we both dined at their restaurant and had their Salmon. The best ever & I'm fussy with Salmon. My request not to have chips & butter was welcomed and any sauces were placed on the side. The hotel held our bags on our last day so we could roam the city until ut was time to head off to the airport. I'd easily return. Great value for the price. We didn't use other facilities so unable to comment on these.
