I purchased this mixer with the thought of replacing my Behringer mixer, which was getting a little scratchy. The interface is very much typical of all mixers, and is easy to use. The six mic inputs, packed into a casing half the size, and weight, of the Behringer mixer had much appeal. The Hridz mixer sacrifices a little in not having any built in effects, however, provision is provided for an external effects processor. Only three bands for bass/mid/treble, which is shy of the four I have been used to, but willing to sacrifice the sweeping mid for a smaller unit. It's about here, that the love affair ends. Once the unit is set up (I used external powered speakers, and control room), the first thing that stands out is the un-even levels for each channel. While some channels require plenty of attenuation, others need minimal, and getting them right is a more art than skill. Once you have this set, and look puzzled at the odd shaping of the faders, the next thing that will strike you, is the Frequency Response. The Hridz unit boasts "20Hz – 20kHz (±3dB)" while the Behringer smashes this with 10 Hz to 60 kHz +/- 3 dB, and Hridz may claim this is an effort to create flat sounds, it misses the nuances that a pro-level mixer needs. Most of the mixers at a pro level will have gain in the order of +10 dB to +60 dB, while the Hridz unit comes in around -60dB to -40dB, which leaves little room between the average signal level and the maximum level before clipping occurs. The next bee in my bonnet, is the Max Output Level. I really should have done my homework on this. Hridz offers 19dBm (1kHz, THD=0.5%), while others are in the ball park of +28 dBu balanced on XLR, +22 dBu unbalanced on jack. This is a show stopper for me. In all, the sound produced is quite muddy, and it is a real wrestle to get anything close to a good sound. Great sound is out of the question. If you are looking for home karaoke, this mixer would do fine. But, if you are looking for pro-level sound, be prepared to pay the extra dollars. I totally regret selling my Behringer for this unit.
