Worst modem ever – This modem came with my adsl2 connection through TPG and is absolutely horrible. The wifi signal constantly drops out requiring a restart once a day and the speeds are slow when using this modem. We switched over to a different modem within the first month. Show details

Not Great stay away – we have one we got from TPG, its useless, wifi connection breaks lot, slow speed and doesnt have WIFI button in front that we can turn off to save ourselves from WIFI Radiation. TPG should look at other modems with WIFI switch as RADIATION from WIFI can HARM kids. Telstra modems are bit better  Show details

Ok – I've had this for almost a year. I provides decent internet speed. After months of long use, it got to a point where the internet speed just dropped for all devices in the house. Things will keep disconnecting and download speed was ridiculously poor. This lasted over a week. So we decided to get a new one which solved the issue. Seems like these… Read more

routers have an "expiry date" where they just die after a certain amount of time which in this case was short.

poor wifi speed – WiFi connection has become poor at around 10 month use. Wifi give low speeds. Line in to modem works well and speed to modem is what it is suppose to be. Happened around warranty time. Have to constantly reset to boast wifi speeds. Overall poor quality modem that has not lasted and will need replacing.  Show details

Average – It has decent internet speed but sometimes can be really good. At times there are moments when the internet speed drops very poorly that I would have to reset it which can be quite annoying. It has issues where when the microwave is in use, the internet cuts off. It still does its job for it's price though so I'm satisfied.  Show details

It's okay – TPG charged me $99 for the router when I signed up with them. No real issues. Seems to do the job fine. It's nice and small. I do have to restart the router every now and again when the internet gets really slow which is a bit annoying but manageable.  Show details

A bit intermittent, mostly good though – Got this bundled with my Westnet ADSL2 connection. It was pretty easy to configure and get started as well, Westnet had pre-configured it with my username and password for me. I think I've had problems networking at home, where the Windows homegroup has become unavailable and restarting the PCs didn't help. The only remedy was rebooting the router. Download speeds are okay, Wi-Fi strength is not the best ever.  Show details

Bad range – Our three bedroom apartment is not very big but it doesn't always reach some of the bedrooms. Often requires re starting to improve signal strength, which seems to help. Speeds are very average and inconsistent. Set up is simple enough though and it is quite compact and not an eyesore.  Show details

Decent router, but poor connectivity – Overall, this router provides okay speeds and manages well with a few connected devices. It struggles with multiple devices (>4) however. This router is pricey compared to its performance when provided by my telco (TPG) for $99. With two antennas you do get MIMO but the Wi-Fi infrastructure is only limited to 802.11n, lacking the newer AC… Read more

standard.

It does struggle with range, while having a maximum transmission power of 20dBm in the router settings, if devices are on the opposite ends of the house it will have trouble providing a constant stream. The other thing is that this router isn't NBN compatible either.

If your telco offers this router, don't buy it. Instead, spend a bit more on an AC router with 3 antennas. If you have several wireless devices, you will see the difference.

An excellent product – The Huawei HG532D is an excellent product. It was very straightforward to set up and is very easy to use. The internet is connected to three computers in my house and all three connections worked immediately with the new modem.  Show details

Home Gateway HG532d is good – This product was easy to figure out, connect, and I haven't had a problem with it for the year I've had it. Increasingly Huawei seems to be a manufacturer that produces excellent products. Recommended
