Brilliant little phone – I bought this phone on special for about $129 at my local post office as a quicky cheap emergency replacement 16 months ago. I thought it would be temporary (like a backup phone) but we ended up staying together. Its really top of the line for a budget phone. An sd card will expand the storage and at well over 16 months old, she still holds a… Read more
pretty good charge. The cameras not too shabby for the price either. It is also very user friendly.
However there are 2 outdated unsupported apps preinstalled that will ruin the phone if used or updated. Touchpal update contains adware and built in browser is outdated and unsupported by android. Both caused problems and had to be disabled.
Go for the newer model. Much cleaner.
A neat one! – Personally I would say this is a neat smartphone. Cameras are good enough to take some nice pictures. It is also good for playing music as well. Their limitations are the memory and battery. The phone could become hot if playing games for a long time or not to response sometimes (due to errors I think). If you need a basic smartphone for calling, music and taking some photos, this would be a good one with low price! Show details
great phone for a good price but – i got this in hopes of replacing my lumia however after a month or so of use the charger port broke which is a shame the camera is good quality, video is better than my lumia and i like the android skin that huawei use i just wish they made the mic better and made it more durable Show details
Clear screen and good for backup/toy – I bought it from Coles when Vodafone has cashback offer. Basically I got it for free. I was surprised that the screen was clear, phone was fast enough for browsing internet, reading news, play music and video. Excellent toy for kids and I don't worry about if it cracks or lose. Good value for the phone. Show details
Was alright – My phone is crappie keeps switching off on it's own and the battery goes flat fast I've only had it for 7 months. I wish they would give a new one for free because I deserve it I probably will not be getting one of these phones again no way. Show details
Excellent Phone – I find the Huawei and easy phone to use, consumer friendly, it possesses great features. It is truely a value for money phone would recommend this phone to others. You will find this phone will exceed your expectations. So if you looking for a cost effective reliable phone try the Huawei Y5 Show details
OK while it lasted – My daughter got one for Christmas and it was the best phone she could do heaps with it, but it won't even charge up now or turn on. It's only 6 months old. The battery would heat up when charging or if you where on the phone for more than 15 minute's. Then one night nothing...... Show details
Satisfactory for basic use – For its price (<$100), Huawei Y5 does the job for basic use e.g. messaging, calls, simple apps; and is good value Good, compact size. 4GX allows fast speeds, cameras on the front and back At times, touch screen is not as responsive and apps are sluggish Those wanting something powerful and capable of running many apps should look at another… Read more
phone model
Overall, satisfactory for basic needs. Perhaps good for beginner's or those with low needs from mobile phone
Great for simple use – I was an Apple only user and after a somewhat frustrating run with their expensive phones I got the courage to go buy this Huawei for $84. Sure it has very small built in memory but other than that, It's totally worth the little money it costs. Battery is average, one charge a day does me. It has the option to add more memory so I'm really struggling to fault it. GREAT CHEAP BUY FOR SIMPLE TASKS! Show details
Adequate – Got the Huawei Y560 for a good price at Coles when it was on offer. It is more than adequate for a beginner user of smartphone as I only use the unit's basic functions. It is a bit heavier than I expected though, but I think the iPhone is heavy too. Show details
Does the job – For a.fraction of the cost of an IPHONE 7.... EXCELLENT VALUE. The only problems I find.are... 1 The phone memory is very small so you can only load a few Apps 2 The charging insert on the phones are very weak and start playing up after about 3 months. This is common from the 4 Huawei phones I have bought in the past. Eventually you have to… Read more
poke and prod and play around with the charging cable into.the phone or it won't charge. Always check the battery indicator is charging after you plug in and phone is settled.
3 The last main problem is the 2 finger zoom technique doesn't work on most home pages, which is annoying because the small print is usually microscopic.
But value for money..unbeatable. For are $100 it's easier to buy another one if you break or lose it.
Brilliant! – Best first or beginner'so smart phone. And this is a SMART phone. Android is easy to learn and operate. Especially compared with Windows. So, if you couldn't use a smart phone before, you can now! Get a good deal though as the newer models are also well under $100. Even new! Show details
Great phone – For its price it is a fantastic phone. Underrated for its capabilities and most people are put off by the cheap price. I have dropped this phone face first onto concrete and on its edge. No cracked screen and still works. Mine is locked to Optus on the 4G network and I have had no issues with it. For the price you can't go wrong. Show details

Works well. So good I bought another one for my wife – Worth much more than I had to pay. This one is locked to Telstra and gets a tick for country use. It is 4GX and also works on the 3G network. All the apps work well and there is a button that turns off apps that are not being used so it stays fast. After 2 years you can unlock Telstra phones FREE. The 5 MP camera works well and you can take… Read more

Fantastic for the price – So I grabbed this phone when it was on special a few months back for $45. I just needed to upgrade to a smartphone from my old skool Nokia C6700. Sure, this aint no flagship model with the most awesome screen, rockin' camera & other features on more expensive phones. But it does it job, admirably - namely answering & making calls, texts,… Read more
checking up on emails. It doesn't have a great internal memory so expanding with a SD card is recommended.
Also to note: most/many apps can't be moved to the SD card, so when you have a few apps installed there'll be no space for more. But music & photos will definitely go on the card.
Only a 4.5" screen - which is perfectly adequate for most users.
I recharge about every 4 or 5 days.
One caveat I have found (aside from the lack of space for apps) is when headphones are plugged in the phone taken about 1 to 2 minutes to think about whats going on, then all OK after that.
For the $45 paid, there are absolutely no complaints here.
Absolutely brilliant phone – This phone is great value for money, simple and easy to use and has heaps of the features the more expensive phones do. The battery lasts forever which is great when working making business calls and sending emails and it has fantastic rural coverage. I love this phone so much I bought my Mum one too. I can not fault this phone and recommend it highly. Show details
really good phone perfect hand size – This is a very easy phone to use, has a great big screen ,and great price i love it, if i had to buy another phone it would be this one, as i have had no trouble at all, and would have no hesitation in recomending it to any one who was planing on buying a phone Show details
excellent phone for price – bought 2 of these online from Telstra shop as local shop had sold out, phone is excellent quality although battery has to be recharged daily if i use it a lot, glass screensaver is not advisable as not sensitive enough but plastic ones work fine, highly recommend this phone as we have had no problems so far. "You bought through Telstra therefore we provide no warranty for the phone" – -Within 12months the phone has been returned 3 times as it will not charge or turn on. -Again after the phone not turning it was returned for repair. The phone has a very small crack in the screen. So Huawei, will not authorise repairs if there is any damage. -Huawei have advised "as the phone was bought through Telstra then Telstra provide… Read more
the warranty to repair and therefore I have to go back to Telstra."
-Even though I have the box with the 24month warranty slip from Huawei.
I stated the crack would not be an issue or be in for repair if the phone was not faulty.
The Huawei Y5 is perfect once you get the hang of it – I have one and it has taken me 3 months to get to know how to get around it and change the ring tones I still have a lot to learn but you cannot loose it in your bag, and I am very happy with it charges up quickly and it's life is 5-6 days before recharging, the Face is as big or small as you want and the photo resolution is exceptionally clear, once you have used a Huawei you won't want any other . Let's be honest – So this is cheap. Very cheap. I just picked one up for au$69 from Coles. Now for that money it is pretty amazing. It's a reasonably well built chunky little android with all the features you need for day to day smartphoning. Don't expect it to compete with higher end phones and you will be happy. It's not fabulous but for me, as a… Read more
temporary replacement for a Samsung with a broken screen, it is doing its job well. Heck, it cost less than a screen replacement and its brand new!
So the screen is lower res than other phones and a little irritating that you have to find the right viewing angle, but look at that price again!
There's a quad core processer in here, sure not a lightning fast one but with the gig of RAM it's not too bad at all. Usual day to day apps will multitask fine.
Other reviewers have complained about silly things. So you don't like the sensitivity of the screen? Change it! Don't like the keyboard? Change it! Don't like the messages app it comes with? . . You get the point..
Just remember that this is an android device and as such it is exceptionally easy and free to set it up how you like.
Having said that, I quite like the skin that HUAWEI have slapped on here. It's almost stock lolipop but a little polished.
8gb expandable is useable, 4g capable, all the cameras and sensors you need.
If you're expecting it to be fabulous then you are dreaming. But it's a lot better than it should be for seventy bucks.
spot on phone – great cheap phone.up there with the brand names and speed of phone is very good.most impressive phone for the price.well done.very similar to Samsung galaxy, and can not tell them apart with performance.battery life is on par with all other leading brands.this brand needs to be promoted more to keep the competitors honest.great phone, great price, great performance Show details
Huawei Y560 cheap but not nasty – I lost my previous phone, needed a replacement I could afford so a Huawei Y560. It does everything I want, phone calls, SMS, email ,internet surfing, pics and videos, limitless Apps easily and quickly for less than $150. I watch my grandchildren with their IPhones and don't feel I have been left behind when it comes to a mobile phone. Show details
Worst phone I ever had! – From the beginning, I found this phone annoying, to say the least. It if far too touch sensitive, if that's possible. For instance, when scrolling down the list of contacts, if you go too slowly, it stops on someone you don't want --go too fast and it whizzes straight past..All the settings seem awkward, and getting rid of unwanted messages is a pain. Avoid at all costs! Show details
Worse Birthday Gift ever! – Thought I was doing the right thing by buying this mobile for my husband for his birthday - wrong! He has not stopped complaining about it since. It is bulky to use, keyboard is so touchy and he is a male with tradie fingers and is all thumbs! I was told it was sooooo easy, and it's not. ordeer to save my marriage, will give hubby the 5 and put the Huawei in the cupboard where it belongs. As the old saying goes - you get what you pay for!
Boy what a let down – poor visibility of screen , poor volume settings , message notification hard to get rid of, general settings are just to messy to set up, overall the worst phone i have purchased , one thing tht does work well for me is camera but as I wanted a phone not a camera its apain Show details
Too complicated, system bugs and missing functions – Problems from the start. It is hard to find and manage settings. From day 2 I have had a message notification that I simply can't get rid of. Today I want to find call blocking, and it's not there. There doesn't seem to be much help via google and the manual is next to useless. Save yourself a lot of frustration and buy another brand. Underpowered and underdone – It just isn't fast at anything and quite often gets stuck between tasks or apps - I hate it. Poor visibility on screen in daylight. Camera is hopeless. Many blurry shots and low output quality. Ignore using the bundled or associated software as it is simply confusing. But! ... it is/was cheap to buy and I guess cannot complain therefore. Show details
Not worth buying – The worst problem so far is the camera. The main camera is no longer accessible after less than a week's usage. It hasn't been dropped. It simply failed. Even a complete reset did not fix it. The camera controls are also clumsy to use - the image adjustment menu covers the whole view, making it impossible to check results without … Read more
exiting adjustments altogether. There is no night mode. Exposure control is difficult, as manual control seems to fight auto exposure . You cannot disable auto focus, an annoyance common to many phone cameras.
There seems to be a lack of useful options in several other apps.
Battery life is very bad - less than a day.
The screen is a comfortable size.
It does 4G.
In general, poor compared to my Samsung phone, even though the latter cost $30 less and gad a smaller screen.
This model is a lemon! – I have owned several Huawei phones and have always been very happy with them. They performed very well and were very well priced. Then I made my big mistake of buying a Y560 for my wife and myself. My wife has had nothing but problems with her phone continually shutting down/rebooting and the battery discharging rapidly. Mine also discharges… Read more
rapidly but doesn't shut down.reboot like my wife's phone. Huwaei's customer "service" has been the worst I have ever encountered in relation to this issue and the repairs they supposedly did to my wife's phone were non-existent. I could not recommend this model phone to anyone at any price. It is rubbish. Be aware of Huawei's contempt for its customers otherwise you will get badly burned by them.
Surprising features make Y560 a great phone – Great phone, great size thats pocket friendly, lightweight without $$$ price. Huawei phones just get better with each new model. Y560 features a task optimiser, intelligent camera, clever multifocal settings, downloadable themes, 4.5" screen, 8gb ram, battery saver, app network access to control costs. Y560 a good choice, very happy.
