Very serviceable – This phone actually worked very well. I hate the way my Samsung runs out of power in a couple of days even when turned off, but this one lasts for a couple of weeks. There are two main problems 1. the camera is no good. I needed it for this. 2. It has almost no memory, I have had to strip virtually everything out of it, down to about 10 apps and no pictures. I do keep it round the house with no sim, useful for lookups etc. Show details
Pretty poor – I'm heartily sick of this phone after a year. My main bugbear is that it will not switch from WiFi to mobile data unless I restart the phone which is a real pain. The other thing I hate is that the home button is right below the space bar so my browser often disappears when I'm typing. The camera is not good (photos are very ordinary and, on… Read more
occasion, badly coloured) and you can't zoom - it just won't focus at all when zoomed. Reasonable battery life however.
Huawei customer service is worst than any other mobile manufacturer – I bought a brand new Y7 from JB HiFi and just after 3 months of usage it became very slow.... I contacted Huawei and they gave am refurbished one.... few months later I had the same issue and they asked me to send the phone back to them ..... after 2 weeks they called me and said they detected moisture ..... which I am 110% sure was never in… Read more
contact with any kind of liquid.... but there is no way I can prove them wrong.... I had terrible experience... as their call centre is not in Australia and once you buy the product they dont care at all....... my phone is still sitting with their 3rd party Happytel service centre and I just bought a new phone and will make sure no one in my circle buy Huawei

Don't buy this if you have plan on using it to be social with friends – If you plan on using it to be social don't buy this phone!! Overheats all the time when on Snapchat which is embarrassing because you don't get a notification you just come off Snapchat and have to wait for it to cool off so to the people you are talking to it seems you are rude also the sound is terrible it's so quiet the earphones they supply… Read more
are crap and you can't plug in other earphones because the volume doesn't change and the fingerprint doesn't always happen which is ridiculous its not very secure and it can become very slow and laggy if you have more than 5 apps open you can expect it to overheat and work very slow the storage is so small I have had to delete so many memes and apps just to keep my phone from keep coming up with notifications about the storage problems and I have received alot of comments on a ringing noise coming from me when I am on the phone to people.. This phone has soo many faults find something which is better and less likely to overheat because that is annoying.
Great Alternative to massively expensive "Smart Phones" – I bought this inexpensive phone to use for droning around the UK on said Holiday and was very pleasantly surprised at how good it felt and how quickly it did everything required of it. It was only after the death of my iPhone X (in some rain) that I began to appreciate the awesomeness of this phone. I used it for 3 weeks while on the balance of… Read more
my holiday and I can report the following.
My estimation is that (apart from not much memory capacity) the phone is 80% as good as the iPhone X.
Camera - Great
Speed - Great
Battery life Awesome - went all day easily with heavy use and image capturing.
Interface tricky to get used to, but after a week or 2 easily navigated.
Phone Calls - Didn't use it for this much just testing and photos, games and emails.
Texting - great predictive features
Emails - Great
Games - Great
Only negative was the memory which can be increased by adding an sd card (although i don't think you can install apps on that, just music and images etc)
I have now purchased one for my sons iPhone instead of fixing the cracked screen for half the cost of this new phone. He is more than happy.
Overall a great phone for the price, in fact a great phone at $500 or $600 if the competition is anything to go by.
Outdoes my Galaxy S6 but can't sync with Fitbit Versa – Until a couple of weeks ago I was using my Samsung galaxy S6 phone. Still works perfectly.. Just got bored with it... So went looking for a replacement (at sub $1000 level). After enough online research to send me mad, I settled on a Huawei Y7 phone. With a 5.5" screen and features the S6 didn't have AND a rrp of just $299 (got it for $199 at Big… Read more
W), this phone comes with a screen protector (perfectly fitted at the factory) and clear rear protection case included. Running Android 7.0 it has 2gb RAM & 16gb internal storage , which can expand, via micro SD card, to 256GB.
It's very fast and a pleasure to use. Very happy camper.
UPDATE... Unfortunately I now use a Fitbit Versa fitness watch which needs to sync with my phone at least daily... a feat it can't accomplish with the Y7 as its just not compatible.
So have had to surrender and get a Samsung Galaxy S9 (a brilliant $1000 +phone).
But the Y7 is still a great phone at a budget price as long as you don't use a Fitbit.

A very good product for a good price – This phone has one of the best batteries I have ever used in a phone, which lasts me up to 2 days on average usage. The screen is so-so, but sharp enough unless you really want a 1080p display. The build quality is good, but some of the colours are obnoxious, as I'm more of a dark colours kind of guy. The android version used is great, however I… Read more
recommend installing Nova Launcher and getting a different music app if you use the stock music app. The camera is okay, being especially bad in night, however on a budget phone like this you can't complain too much. It is very fast, but if you have too many apps open or you try to play a heavy 3d game it can get quite slow and drain the battery. Storage has not been a problem for me, as SD cards are available for cheap nowadays. To summarize, if you are looking for a quality budget phone this is a very good phone with an excellent battery life.
Great value phone with decent battery life – After several months of solid use the Huawei Y7 has performed consistently well for a low budget smart phone. The only issue encountered has been limited storage, but this is easily rectified by way of expanding the memory with a micro SD card. I use a number of gaming apps and have only encountered freezing on a handfull of occassions. Each… Read more
time when an in-game advertisement was running and requiring too much memory.
I find the camera to be sufficient in all conditions and all other features such as the interface have been fine. I'd recommend this phone for anyone looking for a decent screen sized low budget option that can handle your everyday needs.
Why go to the luxury phones? This phone, reasonable price and purchased from Vodaphone does all that – Clear, ample room for apps on the phone. Apps run smoothly. No problems with messaging and text him. What can I add. Perfectly happy with the phone. Chose silver. Show details

Worst phone I have had yet. Never again. Burnt – Don't recommend sorry. Was fine for 2 months. Now keeps freezing. Happens 10 or more times a day. Touch the screen and it can take up to 30 secs to respond. Very unhappy with purchase. Show details
Waste of money – Never before I had so bad mobile. It tern off it self, it tern on it self, connect me to the numbers unknown to me - by it self etc. etc. 100% RUBBISH.Do not waste your money, buy any think else, even the cheapest one will be better than Huawei Y7. Show details
review for Huawei Y7 – This is the worst phone I have ever owned. Always freezing during actions. Very difficult to transfer pictures to and from device. Settings never stay on. Phone just seems to do its own thing! Takes terrible photographs. Flash is very poor. Poor quality video. Sound quality of phone poor. This phone is a pain in the backside! Do not recommend! Great value and excellent running – Budget friendly. Excellent photo quality day and night photos having 12-megapixel with phase detection, autofocus and LED-flash on the back matched by a 8-megapixel camera (f/2.0) on the front. Easy to use and navigate. Good sized screen. Apps run smoothly, but do not install too much. Battery duration is average depends on the use. No quick charge option. Show details
Offers a lot for the price – The first time I unwrapped this I was amazed at just how good it is for the price. Screen is EXCELLENT, scrolling does not lag, battery life is decent. I use it a s a second phone but I don't suffer when i use it , its really very good. The only downsides are the camera is not iPhone quality and the processor can chug a bit with multiple apps. Pretty good all the same! Show details
I love my phone – I am satisfied with the camera although it is not the main feature I use the phone for. It is my sole means of communication and i speak to the ones I love several time a day. I also play brain games on the phone downloaded from the apps store to keep my brain working. I also use my phone for searching on the internet if I want information I have found the apps that I have downloaded to run smoothly when using. Show details
good quality for money – This is a good buy for the price. it has not only a good camera but enough processign power to enable to camera to work. it is a great size with excellent screen quality. it is a very clever devices that if you are switchign from apple to andriod it would be worthwhile to youtube soem videos on hwo to work the phone. Outstanding value for what you get – My iPhone glass cracked for the 3 time so I decided to change phones. Not having a lot of spare cash I purchased a Huawei Y7 from Big W. $299.00. Well I can only say this is the phone I should have purchased a long time ago. Bigger screen, far easier to use & does everything I need it to do . Show details
cost-effective purchase – The Huawei y7 has been a great buy. The screen is big and easy to read. It is generally extremely easy to use. The battery lasts for a very long time and also recharges quickly. It is very reasonably priced and has a lot of quality. I purchased a micro SD card hoping it would provide extra storage, however, the manufacturers have decided to disallow using an SD card as internal storage (i.e. moving apps to the SD card). Great mobile – The Huawei y7 has been a great buy. The screen is big and easy to read. It is generally extremely easy to use. The battery lasts for a very long time and also recharges quickly. Also there is ample storage. It is very reasonably priced, and has a lot of quality. Show details
Terrible Storage Options with Apps to second SD card – Nice phone but not functional as you cannot move apps to your secondary sd card and in today's world, apps are taking up much more space than they once did. Really annoying and a waste of money being sold up to buy the second sd card at JBHIFI. Besides this, the phone does look sleek and all but I have found the longer I have had it, the more glitchy it gets. Show details
Good budget smartphone, poor storage options – The phone itself is an extremely reliable and powerful smartphone for its price-tag. Camera quality is okay and the apps run very well. My main gripe (and the reason I no longer use this phone) is the lack of storage. card as internal storage (i.e. moving apps to the SD card). So I had run out of space very quickly. I am annoyed and frustrated, as I think the phone is great. Ultimately if you are going to be running a lot of applications, taking photos, and using it heavily: this is not the phone for you.

Would recomend – Bought this phone for my friend and she loves it, easy to use, well built, does everything that an iPhone does 16gb with sd expansion. . . . . . . . . . . . . .you tube, face book, messenger, emails, play games, play store, ebay, what more would you want Show details
Huawei Y7 – Good and easy to use features. Not enough memory and quality picture is not as good, video quality is average, not a good phone for heavy users, is hard to store lots of apps without running out of space. Sound is good and voice clear sound. Battery life is good. Not heavy, strong screen not easy to crack or drop. Show details

Good price but never getting Huawei again! – I bought this phone because of the quality you get for such a cheap price, and reviews seemed to be positive. Camera is really good and when its working its a great phone- large high quality screen, good battery life and loved how I could add storage with an external sd card. HOWEVER from fairly soon after I got it- probably because it filled up… Read more
pretty quickly with apps and music- the screen just freezes so often- probably about five times a day without me even realising because I am so used to it. I have to constantly exit out of background apps I have been on as it just can't handle having more than about three things active at once which is how I work. Has particular difficulty with snapchat and messenger chatheads.
Also trying to transfer files to my laptop is excruciating. Currently trying to transfer all my videos and photos over- first of all the phone keeps disconnecting the laptop connection, so I have to restart it after it crashes after every three videos. Then it just started restarting itself every minute. I need to download 22 videos- and then 1000 photos so I'll probably be here all night. It's taken an hour just for 11 1-2 minute videos so far.
I'm glad this phone was cheap so I won't feel as bad having to get a new one after only one year (or three months if I had the money for a Samsung or something now)
Lags extremely – I had a Huawei before and it was ok so I thought I buy this one. This one not good at all. It lags and stops working all the time. Very frustrating as soon as you take it out of box. I would not recommend at all. Waste of money. Show details
Fantastic battery - Great screen - I'm loving it and I don't regret going cheap! – This phone is excellent for the price, the battery life is fantastic : first android phone I have owned that lasts an actual whole day of heavy use (with usually around 30% battery leftover when i plug it at night so I never feel stressed about running out of battery). The screen and speakers are good, memory is easily expanded with a SD card for… Read more
music, photos and videos.
Minor complaint is the low light pictures quality but outdoor shots are great.
My first 'paid outright' phone and I love it – I finally took the plunge in purchasing a cheaper phone outright instead of going on an expensive phone on a plan. I was originally going to go with a Samsung one (which I've had for 10+ years) but after looking at all the reviews none of the Samsung ones were rated in the top 10 budget lists. This Huawei one made it on the few lists so I did a… Read more
bit more research before buying. I have basically managed to make it identical to my Samsung one as its also an android. The only thing I miss is the speed and quality of the camera. I have already gotten used to my new back button.
this is cheap and very useful – Use it very well, i like it and the picture quality of this phone is what you would expect from an $800 dollar. Clearity is good. Using it as a second phone to my girl friend. We are moving from a really old lcd phone to this beauty so its a very big upgrade for us. Show details
If you've used androids before this is not the same experience at all – I love my Apply products but the iPhone 6+. had constant problems. I've used HTC in the past and was very happy with it so when the sales girl said they were comparable, I bought this. I started a new job that day and needed a phone. It's no where near the capabilities and options of other androids and at 10 weeks of age began reatartibg… Read more
itself over and over. Company said to send it to them for a fortnight and they would investigate and refurbish if necessary!! What was I supposed to do while they had my phone?
Very laggy, struggles to run apps – No wonder I only paid $250 for this phone, it wasn't even worth that. It struggles to run simple apps like Instagram, Snapchat and games like pubg without being extremely laggy and then crashing. The lag is just terrible and very frustrating. The camera would be good, if it didn't lag so much. Otherwise a good phone. Just too laggy. And apps on it crash too much. Sick of getting not responding notifications. Show details
great phone – Had this phone for two months. Charge still lasts for nearly two days depending on how much I use it. Takes great photos, good budget phone for someone who doesn't want all the bells and whistles. comes with a free phone cover. dual sim but I only use one. Would recommend to buy Show details
What a brilliant phone! – In the past, I've always purchased Nokias, then HTC's. The last HTC I had though gave me no end of trouble. The battery would over heat for no reason and shut the phone down, the screen would go weird, and the memory would go bye bye. So when it came time for a new phone, It was suggested to me to deviate from HTC's, and the Huawei Y7 was… Read more
mentioned. I took it for a "test drive" and the rest, as they say, is history.
For the price, it's unbeatable. It has a long lasting battery, is a decent size, isn't heavy, has an awesome camera very good, loud speakers. Watching a youtube video can sometimes get embarrassing to watch, and I have to turn it down - It's that loud.
High end budget phone – Just bought the 2018 Huawei Y7 (TRT-LX2) on eBay for AU$229 delivered. This phone now has 32gb storage and 3gb ROM, 4G., Dual sim. It does everything of my previous Samsung S5 but faster and more storage. The controls are easy and intuitive. Quality and feel is excellent. 4000ma battery lasts all day with heavy use.
