  Ring Sling

Hated it – I hate this damn thing. So frustrating! I couldn't figure out how to wear it without it digging into my neck and choking me and it was so tight around my baby's legs. Obviously I was doing something wrong but I couldn't figure out what or how to fix it. Adjusting it while bubs is in it is near impossible as the fabric does not slide through the… Read more

ring easily. I didn't feel like baby was safe or secure and he squirmed and whinged. I later saw pictures of other women wearing the sling with the shoulder part spread out evenly around and down part of the shoulder. This is not how it's pictured in the hug a bub ring sling instructions. I moved on to the babydink carrier and am much, much happier.

Wonderful product – Absolutely love this ring sling for my toddler and also my Newborn. The material is soft and comfortable and the colour is perfect, just as pictured. It’s a great product that makes juggling two kids under two a lot easier. I would definitely recommend this ring sling, it’s a fantastic product.

Great carrier – Love this sling. I have tried a few different types of carriers and this is easiest and fastest to get on. The baby loves it and she usually falls asleep in it. Great when she is a bit fussy. The fabric feels sturdy yet is still breathable. Great that it is also organic.

Excellent ring sling – This review has two main components, what do I think of ring slings as a carrier, and what do I specifically think of the hug-a-bub one. Well, ring slings in general first. I love my ring sling for certain situations and use it almost every day. It is an excellent carrier to quickly throw on to pop into the shops, or get a few chores done… Read more

around the house (I use mine almost every morning to carry my daughter while I unlock and tend to our chickens. However, this is not the type of carrier for you if you intend to carry a baby (particularly a larger baby) for long periods, especially if walking or standing. I did use if for a couple of few hour stints when my daughter was a newborn. But even these were mostly while sitting (she was napping). I mostly limit it to less than about 20 minutes to 1/2 an hour or it becomes uncomfortable. For longer bouts of babywearing I use a wrap or buckle carrier, but these take a little longer to get on and get fitted, ring sling is super fast if you leave it threaded.

Ring slings can also have a slight learning curve to get them fitted comfortably (spreading the fabric over your back and shoulder is key) and I have found I had more success when my daughter was a bit older and more patient. If you are having trouble, attending a local baby wearing meet or finding a consultant can really help.

As for the hug-a-bub sling in particular, it is beautiful! I have the Eucalyptus Dreaming colour way and it is gorgeous (and quite gender neutral, not that I think that really matters in a carrier). It is comfortable to wear and didn't need much breaking in. It is well made, and still looks new, despite several months useage. The weave is quite cool and I can see myself comfortably wearing in throughout the summer. I have also received many compliments on this carrier when wearing it in public.

Don't buy it – I purchased a cream hug a bub mesh ring sling online direct from the company. I find it incredibly difficult to use as the fabric grabs, doesn't slide through the rings easily and gets stuck every time. I have since met some people experienced with ring slings (and baby wearing) and they confirmed I am doing/using it correctly but it's the… Read more

material which is an issue as they have come across this problem with the same product many times before. I really regret this purchase as I've never been able to use it despite trying many many times to give it a go, but no matter what I do the material gets stuck in the rings. I'm disappointed as this wasn't a cheap purchase and I really wanted to love this product.

Really useful and easy to use! – I've been using my ring sling almost everyday and it's great. My little boy loves it and he is always calm and happy when he's in it. Very easy to use and wash and the material is comfortable and lightweight, great for summer. I would recommend hug a bub to other mums.

Yet another fantastic product from hugabub! – I used the original hugabub many moons ago with my first child, and then again last year with my second. I couldn't fault it OR live without it! That piece of fabric got me through some tough times! I recently purchased the ring sling now that my Bub is a little bigger, now ten months. He is up and down like a yoyo now he's walking and also… Read more

going through that clingy stage where he wants me close.

The ring sling has surpassed my expectations! Easy to use, light weight and cool to wear, comfy, and most of all my Bub loves it! He loves being on the hip and seeing everything, while feeling snugly at the same time.

Thanks again hugabub for another fab product!!

Difficult to use – I found the ring sling very difficult to use with a fussy baby who didn't like to be confined. He would scream and arch his back every time I tried to put him in it, resulting in him not being secure. The ring sling is certainly not for every baby.

Wish we bought it sooner – Love the colours of our sling (bondi colours). Our baby doesn't like it and it was hard trying to get her into it. Wish we bought it sooner as our baby was just over 4 months and 7.6kg when we got it. I think it would be easier and we would use it if we started our baby in it from a younger age.

Love this sling!!! – Loved this for keeping my bub close from birth. Light weight material was especially good in summer. Was also useful for carrying my toddler around at the shops. Loved it so much I bought both my sisters one and they've loved it as much as I do. Easy to use but important for pple to read up on safe baby wearing. Great product!

Loved the hug a bub sling birth to toddler years! – I loved my hug a bub sling and wrap. The sling was great from birth with a sleeping bub to toddler years as an aid carrying around on my hip! I found it so easy to use and adjust if needed whilst baby is in it. It went everywhere with me just incase! Highly recommend!

We live in our ring sling – We love it so much we bought another one for our next baby and plan on getting another for that baby too we still live in our cream one even with mr 2yo it's fantastic in hot weather. I just wish I had a second one when he was a baby for when our cream one was in the wash. They are very high quality ours has been washed many times and looks like… Read more

brand new. Its much easier than others I bought the material moves easily through the rings and doesn't bunch up and being mesh it it takes the shape of baby so bub is snug and you are comfy. Another plus is that the part that goes on your shoulder is slightly padded so it makes it nice and comfy for you. Another time I would only buy hug-a-bub ring slings they are also a great price. Fantastic for Breastfeeding on the go too and I used the tail to keep the sun off bub or cover while I fed on the go.

Best decision I made! – Bub loves being close by and I love being able to have hands free knowing my little one is comfortable. It's easy to use, really good for travelling with and keeps you so cool in the summer. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves to snuggle baby while on the go!

Great ring sling for hot weather – My newborn was worn in this ring sling whenever we left the house. Being a Summer baby it was hot & humid, but we were always as comfortable as we could be while babywearing because of the open weave. I found that it slipped a bit unless I wrapped the tail around the rings, but wrapping the tail around made them padded in case bubba rested her head on them, so it wasn't an issue. I also loved the colour - we had the Sunset design.

Loved my ring sling! – Loved the ring sling so much I bought 2. Was a gorgeous colour and I used on my 2 little boys. Made life a little bit easier! Both my little boys hated being put down and it allowed me to be able to still do things and hold them close.

Love it! – I bought the mesh one as we live in a warm and humid climate. It was great, once I learned how to use it, even hubby managed it! Got a lot of compliments on it when using it. It's also much more breathable and cooler than the other slings I've used before this.

Quick n handy – I had a big baby but this sling was great for my back, quick and easy for those last minute and short shops, breathable and so good in summer, and so easy to use even when Bub is asleep from the car! I recommend this sling or the organic - I bought both and was super happy with them both and comfort I (& baby) experienced in them. Wish I'd had one for any one of my first 3 babies!!

Dont buy – Doesnt go on properly looks weird bubs hates it and weight hurts your shoulder so bad you wont be able to stand wearing it for more than a minute anyway. Even when worn exactly how the instructions and youtube tutorials say. Redicously over priced pay over $100 and waste your time for some thing you will never use
