Still riding my Hyosung GT 250 and no problems, probably one of the most reliable and easy to fix bikes I have ever owned. I ride it almost everyday and ouside of normal maintenance and the normal parishable items that all bikes require, I haven't had to tow it home and It stays tuned. So for the money, there is no beating it. It is old but not… Read more
close to dead. Don't be locked into hating Korean bikes just yet, it is a well made motorcycle all the way through ! Excellent for the beginner and pretty decent for the experienced rider too !

Unreliable, badly put together – This is my first bike and I've had it for nearly two years now. I bought it second hand with 8000km, it is now on about 12000. The bike rides quite well and is good for what I use it for - commuting. The stock tyres are horrible and hard, and especially slippery in the wet. It hasn't been the most reliable - problems have included. -Leaking… Read more
front fork
-Slow leak on front tyre
-Indicators rattle loose (the cover has come off more than one of them)
-The screen goes blank (including the speedo, turning it off and on again usually clears this up)
- Cuting in and out with the throttle wide open (nearly threw me off a few times)
-Snapped clutch cable (had to be towed)
-Failed to start (had to be towed). Mechanic reckons it was the spark plugs, but I tried changing those myself.
Would I buy another Hyosung? -Not after the reliability niggles.
NIce to ride. Bad finish – The bike handles quite well. Would be better with decent tyres. The finish is not up to Japanese standard, so expect rust. The plastic lenses on the instruments are crap, and mine have crazed in 3 years. The battery failed recently and this was followed by the rectifier. The ignition switch needs a wiggle to make contact. if you can afford it, buy Jap.
Save your money and buy a real bike!!!! – The one star goes for the looks...This is a piece of crap..I got a 2014 250 cause it looked nice and it was reasonably priced..!! A LOT of loose ends for a new bike..Main cylinder gasket leaking already at 2500 miles..The housing with the controls on my handle bars was falling off...i had to pad the rear seat cover to keep it tight so it doesn't… Read more
rattle, the paint job has flaws...the mirrors were getting loose if i did over 25 miles per hr...!! I bought the bike second hand in 2014..it was just a few months old with 2500 miles...I'm a person that doesnt abuse the vehicles..(I still have my 1980 750 CBF honda with 4500 mls.) i took the bike to the dealer thinking that the warranty will take care of this but after going back and forth for a couple of months the dealer told me that the warranty was not effective cause i had bought it from a private seller..regardless the year , regardless the miles...NO warranty...i'm on my own..!!
Hyosung's response was to use some silicone ( !!!!) and fix it cause they don't cover it...( the dealer said the even if the warranty WAS in place Hyosung would NOT cover a repair like this..!!! ) In what universe in 2015 you buy anything from a toaster to a car and if you sell it a week later you're out of luck as far as the manufacturers warranty is concerned..!!! I say this is garbage bike..horrible customer support and even worse warranty...Save your money and buy a real bike..!!!
Tamed Reliable Beast – Got onto a new Hyosung GT250 in Aug 2014 and since been 6,000 km commuting and into the mountains on the weekends. Other than replacing a bolt on the rear view and turning a nut on the clutch leaver to reduce clutch lag on the cable: the beast is reliable and fun. Through traffic it's agile and on the high way it's fast enough to move with 110km/h… Read more
traffic with ease, smoothly and have something in reserve. Hyosung GT250 will deliver everything you ask of it. Service intervals come around a bit quickly at every 4,000km!
great bike – Great bike. Bought a 2013 model and was a bit sceptical after all the reviews on the web. Had some trouble finding neutral initially and thought it was my inexperience but took back to the dealer who adjusted it and was good to go. I have had no other issues with the bike. Starts first time everytime and runs well. Good seat comfort and gears are smooth. Good looking bike and so far has been very reliable. neutral might need adjusting.
no worries – Despite what ever you hear, I've done more than 30 000 km on Hyosung GT 250 in city traffic. The bike has been reliable. Slight petrol leak from tank where the copper and the aluminium meet, which is not uncommon on bikes and was easy enough to fix. Petrol gauge also failed and was fixed but failed again. Otherwise no dramas. Parts are inexpensive… Read more

Fast enough for the occasional highway jaunt. Affordable to buy, Affordable to run, Good reliability It's not a a 650
Look Harder – Rushed into buying a bike.. the Hyosung was cheap and affordable.. But have had nothing but problems.. Where to start... Wish i had looked harder and longer.. Stand sensor seems to be a problem across the line with these... Mine would not accept any throttle for a long time the and had a missfire that nobody could diagnose.. still there when… Read more
stabilizing speed between 4-7 thousand rpm... Front Sprocket Nut comes off regularly and throws off your front sprocket... Must admit was nice to ride when running well.. But to many problems in a span of 3 months Cheap, Good on Fuel Stand Sensor, Miss Fires, Front srocket keeps throwing off.
