AMAZING WORK! Cannot express my gratitude to the guys at Ideals Pools for taking an idea in my head and making it a reality. Was told by numerous companies the pool I wanted was unachievable or was quoted a ridiculous amount with lengthy timelines. So, I was in complete awe when they were done and the kids were swimming 2 weeks after their crew stared the dig. Show details

Please, GO ELSEWHERE! – Great, until the contract is signed. Turned into a nightmare. Communication was poor. They said they pebblecreted all their pool lights in, but when ours failed after three months that there was no warranty on the light. Coping still not finished. Had to pay last payment before pool would be commissioned otherwise it would not be done. When… Read more

trying to get problems rectified Ron called me a whinger. There are great pool builders on the coast, just not this company.

WORST POOL EXPERIENCE – Very rude human being! Don't you even consider having them to do anything related to your pool. You'll just lose your health being overly stressed and upset over how poor they treat you and your property. I would never recommend this service/business to even my worst enemy. Show details

Save yourself - go elsewhere! – DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!! Would not recommend Ideal Pools to anyone!! They are absolute thugs. Janet is just plain dumb and will play the victim with YOUR money; and her old man Ronnie will hold you to ransom to get more of your hard-earned by way of variations (ours was in excess of 20% of contract value). Did we agree, hell no! They offer zero… Read more

opportunity to reach amicable resolution, you know split cost, look at other options, reasonable things that a reasonable person might consider; they simply don't care they just want to squeeze as much coin out of you as they can.

Well, it seems we are dumber than Janet cos Ideal got money for jam, literally.

We were actually recommended to Ideal Pools initially, so imagine our surprise when faced with belligerent, money hungry business owners who spend YOUR savings and then try to justify their hardship by keeping it.

Yes, we lost the lot, nearly $15k - no refund, reimbursement, here's a couple of grand back cos we actually didn't do that much other than shaping a pre-existing hole from an old inground pool. Spent no more than 8 hours on our site, no purchase of materials etc. and yep, they're entitled to keep our money. Seems fair right?!

We decided to not proceed with them. After our initial experience for extra $$$ in a variation, as we had zero confidence that they would finish our pool without issuing further and subsequent variations - they had already demonstrated their thirst for more money and their unwillingness to work with the homeowner nay customer.

If you choose to proceed with them, be aware their contracts are front end loaded, more money at the beginning for very little cost or financial exposure to them - negotiate one that sits more in your favour or is reasonable for the actual work performed and understand that fixed price is not actually fixed price.

Oh and to the 'lady in the office' who helps Janet, you know the new one, I hope you realise they use you as an excuse to blame their problems on. You sure are one incompetent office assistant... lucky Janet is so forgiving and keeps you on.

Happy to provide specifics outside of this forum on our experience.

Waste of time – Quoted over the phone before the site visit and then when he showed up for a sight visit it appeared he did not want to build. Lots of arguing against the engineering plans we had, lots of swearing and just downright rude. Stated the pool couldn’t be done but clearly it can as we have already lined up another company to complete th job. Don’t waste your time even calling Idealpools unless you like dealing with rude and arrogant people. Show details

Disappointing Service – The quotation process was ok, but, once i paid my deposit things went downhill . The process was nothing more than one frustration after the other. Communication was poor and i felt unless I chased things up, nothing would happen. The final handover process was the most disappointing. Once my pool had water in it, it stood stagnant for 8 days in… Read more

35degree weather...! I could NOT get Ideal Pools to complete the pump , chlorinator and pool light connections. What made it frustrating was the fact that each day ( for 8 days), I would get commitment from Ideal Pools saying someone would be at my place on the day to finish things off- however nobody would ever show. I think if I was told nobody could come round for another couple of weeks it would maybe have been better... Overall , the installation and commissioning time took MONTHS and it was a very disappointing experience and would not recommend Ideal Pools.

Can’t even get the quote – We had someone come to do a quote for a pool for us. All seemed well. He was positive that they could do it and give us a great pool. Months went by. I sent a message through their website. Another month or two went by. I called them directly to ask if we could have the quote. I was told that was very unlike the guy (family member of owner). Haven’t heard back. Needless to say we won’t be using them. Show details

Far from Ideal – This review is written in the hope it will prevent other good, hard working families from going through what Ideal Pools have put my family through over the past 16 months, and we still do not have a pool. To say that this company is made up of disgusting, abusive, unprofessional, threatening, people would be a massive understatement. Not to… Read more

mention they are mostly family members and as such there is little to no accountability whatsoever. However, if you are after a pool that looks great in the brochure, seems reasonably priced, is not built to the shape quoted, not constructed in accordance with engineering drawings, has excessive hidden costs, and is an overall defective crumbling mess then Ideal Pools may be for you after all. The problems with my pool are far too extensive to list in this review, however even after the QBCC directed them to remove and replace the defective concrete pool shell, they still could not construct a pool that complies with their own engineer requirements. Not to mention they poked 10mm holes in the pool wall, completely covered a pool light with concrete, and formed the top edge of the pool 45mm out of level over a 3 meter section. Yes, this was their second attempt to build a pool at my property, even with these problems it is a vast improvement over their first attempt. I encourage any potential customers of this company to visit my review on facebook where I will post images of their product. Also I would encourage you to send me a direct message and I can put you in contact with over a dozen dissatisfied customers, who will help you make an educated decision when deciding who constructs your dream pool. Trust me, it's not these guys. Now I will sit back and await their abusive, blame shifting reply, that's what they do.
