attach to the swivelling base. After normal use as a desk chair, the foam cracked away from the plywood base making the chair unusable. There was a time when Ikea chairs were sturdy with a demonstration chair being constantly pummeled by a weight. I don't think our chair was tested enough. A desk chair under normal usage should last longer than three years. Very disappointed that a chair costing $159.00 should literally fall apart after three years of use.
