Really unhappy, I think its unsafe – I'm really unhappy with this car seat for the following reasons: 1. The seatbelt clickers are really inconsistent, sometimes they click in and other times they do not. One side will seem to click in but then when you pull on the seatbelt it slides straight out. Once the other side has been clicked in, the other side will usually click in as well, but its not always the same side that needs to be clicked in first - ie sometimes if I try to click in the left, it will slide out, then if I click in the right, the left side will click in ok. But sometimes the side that needs clicking in is reversed. Either way, it often gives the impression that it is clicked in properly, but after a really good tug of the belt one side will slip out. This is just dangerous.
2. Its really hard to install, and we needed a professional installer. Granted, we probably would've gotten it professionally installed in the first place anyway, but it also means we can't move it between cars and will have to pay again to get it turned around.
3. My bub loathes this seat and screams constantly from the minute we put him in (he's now 8 months old). He doesn't do this in other seats so it must be uncomfortable.
4. The warranty is only for 1 year, which seems stupid for a piece of safety equipment made to be used for 8 years.
For point (1) above, I highly recommend others stay away from this product.
Excellent car seat – My husband and I had been researching car seats for a while and trying to decide what we should do. After much consideration we felt the quality of the Infa Secure range and the savings we would make with just having to buy 1 car seat that converted to the different stages (0-8 years) was the best option. The seat is easy to clean, was easy to fit and use. We've used both the original model and updated model as we eventually purchased another for my parents car for when they looked after our daughter. The customer service from Infa Secure at the baby expo where we purchased was excellent. Australian owned family business, excellent customer service, quality, inexpensive & good safety reviews
First time carseat purchase – Safety review was excellent and it will last us a long time. The price was competitive and it was easy to fit and adjust. The covers are easy to remove and wash. We also liked how easy it was to adjust the seatbelt straps putting baby in and out of the seat. That said the head rest padding pushes the shoulder straps down so they don't fit baby over the shoulders properly and there is a big gap in the new born padding giving no support to babies back. I can get my hand in there and not touch baby. It must be uncomfortable. Also because of the gap the headrest forces babies head right into his chest and I can hear it causing some breathing obstruction. Also the hood obstructs the drivers view when the seat is rear facing and the black makes it pretty hot. Great safety, cool colours, easy to adjust the seat belt straps. We have to push the front seat all the way forward and sit very upright to fit the car seat rear facing. The head padding forces the shoulder straps too low and leaves a big gap with no back support causing our baby to have his chin really pressed into his chest.
Inexpensive All In One Safe Car Seat! – Needing to buy a convertible car seat for my 3 month old, I was originally tossing up between the safe and sound Meridian AHR and the Maxi Cosi Hera. However when I heard the 2012 CREP results were out I checked them out, the Infa Secure ranked higher than both of these in both the rearward facing and forward facing modes. Not only is it safer, it was over $100 cheaper, and has the option to be used as a booster seat as well! My son is very comfortable in it, he is still using the newborn inserts for extra padding, probably my only concern is that the harness belt sits quite low with all the padding in there and leaves marks on his thighs, though this doesn't seem to bother him? Price, safety, versatility. Padding makes belts sit too low on him.
