Inspired Adventures are a complete scam of a company. They draw people and charities in through marketing, which, let's face it isn't even very good and promises of changing the world, while laughing all the way to the bank with the money that they have fleeced from both charities and unsuspecting customers. As a non-profit, our organisation… Read more
signed on for a tour with Inspired, which left us over $8k out of pocket for ZERO services rendered outside of some stock photos, an inept team with no experience in the location advertised and months of legal battles to try and recoup the money stolen. The prices that they had for each participant to pay (on top of the target fundraising amounts) were laughable! Literally five or six times more than the actual cost and then they said it was our fault that we weren't reaching our participant and fundraising targets!
We also had to do all the research, marketing and outreach on our own. What did we pay $14k for again?? They then developed a new, local fundraising campaign that was five times the cost of going with a local tour operator in the region. Do yourself a favour and avoid these scammers at all costs!
Where to start with Inspired Adventures!? A complete sham of a company who have no ethics and greenwash for their own gain. We had an absolutely atrocious experience with Inspired and the team from start to finish. So many promises made and not kept, money taken, then communication incredibly poor and services not rendered. The fight then ensued… Read more
with Inspired refusing any accountability and money not returned. Take a look at their social media pages and do your research if you want to gain a real insight into how this scam company operates. There is a reason that they went into receivership! Customers and non-profits beware, they are immoral charlatans.
Never again – I signed up to do the South Island Adventure in New Zealand as a fundraiser with my partner. Comms with Inspired Adventures were average but not terrible. They never told us we were the only people to sign up, we went to significant efforts to fundraise, which was challenging. With no prior insights they cancelled the event and told us bluntly… Read more
that we would have to wait 60 days for a refund. What an outrageous amount of time to make people wait. Do better! I would never book with these people again.
Horrible Experience! – Signed up for Inspired Adventures through my workplace. During my training I had to pull out due to an injury on my right foot. The refund process is a joke! Constant requests to refund - always an excuse from IA - you have to wait 3 months from when you told us - you cant get a full refund because it was within 3 months of beginning the trek. … Read more
Well actually I told IA well before that date! As I write I am still back and forth requesting a refund as "Monocle Refund" have been APPOINTED to pay me back the partial amount which I paid, which incidentally is well over the $900! They are also full of excuses citing COVID delays in payment processing. If you are planning on using them in the future try not to get injured where you have to pull out because if you do pull out you will find yourself going through the same process as me. If I could give them 0/5 I would! They are an absolute joke!
Exceptional Leadership and Guide – The Scenic Rim provided an outstanding adventure for us whilst raising awareness and funds for White Ribbon. We had a wonderful group of people who all contributed to the experience and I feel as an older participant with a professional background in leadership I can give authentic feedback. At all times the experience was amazing our leader and… Read more
our guide gave us loads of encouragement, they had an amazing amount of knowledge concerning the land, history, flora, and fauna along with social integrity. The ease of communication within our group was very special indeed, everything including our safety and comfort (food provisions) additional activities were first class.
Good service for Kokoda track trip – Signed up to take on the Kokoda track for mental health last year. Loved every minute of it . Communication was always very quick and clear. If my rep was ever away someone else on the phone could always assist in the lead up. Trek itself was challenging but fantastic, had always been on the bucket list - lived up to expectations. I paid for a… Read more
porter to help carry my pack for the trek, was very worthwhile and would recommend to others. Found the pre-departure training, fitness and travel pack really useful. All around great time.
Cambodia cycle was awesome, thank you! – My sister and I did the Cambodia cycle last year. We hadn't cycled much before, so signed up about one year in advance. Good thing we did, it took about 9 months to get to our fundraising target and learn how to ride a bike properly! Loved the cycle, Cambodia turns out to be very flat for cycling so found the ride not too difficult in the end.… Read more
Such lovely people and culture in Cambodia. There was a support bus that drove around behind us that we could get on when we got tired during the ride. Our guide Yahn was just so sweet. Enjoyed the cooking class. Lots of temples and delicious food. Will return for sure.
Great El Camino charity trek – I did my first charity trek with Inspired this year to Spain to walk the El Camino. Everything was well organised, nice team and guide. Good value for money, meals etc were mostly included. I enjoyed visiting all the small Spanish villages on the walk. Everyone got their own flights and met in Madrid. Worked well as most of the team planned some… Read more
other travel within Europe. Trekking distances between 20 - 30km a day so was definitely a challenge for most of us. Loved the tapas and sangria! Want to return!
Great outback trek for breast cancer – I traveled to trek the Larapinta trail for breast cancer. I signed up 6 months in advance and found Inspired Adventures fundraising support useful. My fundraising coach provided some helpful resources to help me plan both a movie night and trivia night for the charity. The trek was great, our guides were really knowledgeable about the Northern… Read more
Territory and the trail itself. I enjoyed sleeping outside under the stars in swags, a new experience for most of the team. The highlight was climbing Mount Sonder! We all got to know each other really well around the campfire each night. Was easy to book extra nights at the hotel before and after the trek. Really enjoyed it.
Incompetent. Rude. Unhelpful – Disorganised. Significantly overpriced for what they offered. Deceptive / misleading collateral. Actual itinerary NOT delivered then they blame the charity. Plus most rudest and unhelpful “guide” I have EVER experienced. DO NOT USE. Go enjoy a professionally run tour, raise money for the charity you love and do it that way instead! Show details
Incompetent and unprofessional – Don't ever use this company. They add no value whatsoever. Their approach is aggressive, they are overpriced and basically completely hopeless. Knowledge of their role is poor. Would avoid them at all costs. Show details
Do not use this company!! Super incompetent and lack accountability!! – Do not use this company!! Me and my partner signed up to do the Trek 4 Respect in Tasmania raising money for White Ribbon. 6 months after committing to the Trek my partner became pregnant which is great for us however we were told that we would not receive any refund (ironically discriminating against a woman for being pregnant) and were told we… Read more
were required to get medical clearance. We were given an itinerary to take to the doctor and were informed that there would be a doctor who would also accompany us on the Trek. The itinerary we were given was completely different to what we actually did being 20kms further than what was stated and there was no doctor on the Trek thus my partner gaining medical clearance under false pretenses. Further to this throughout the fundraising we were given misinformation relating to public liability insurance and when challenged they blamed it on the white ribbon representative being sick rather than showing initiative and talking to someone else at White Ribbon or taking responsibility for their mistake. This is only a small snapshot of the incompetence that we have dealt with however there is a severe lack of accountability with Inspired Adventures.
Overpriced and disorganised – I recently climbed Everest base camp on Nepal through inspired adventures, raising 4000 dollars for aycc. I found out once in Nepal that I could have done that same trek for less than a third of the price, booking it there and not in Australia.
Do not use this company! – I went on a tour with Inspired Adventures in 2013 to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. The tour leader behaved in an inappropriately sexually predatory way towards the women in the group, me included. Although I complained to the company about this following the tour, they did not investigate my allegations, they refused to investigate the complaint and… Read more
they did not provide me with any apology for what occurred. In fact I was treated like the villain by this company. I do not recommend that any woman use this company to book an adventure tour.
