With my 28ex instachil I keep blinds closed so no you don't need to but that is an option if you want?

All of these units are utter rubbish you are better off buying a fan and saving money. They should be removed from the market. The marketing is dubious at best.

The water tank is located at the back of the unit. Its like a drawer that can be pulled out to fill in water.

It's NOT an air conditioner as it has no compressor in it.It's an evaporative cooler only.
Hi i was wondering if you could please tell me how to empty snd clean out the base of the instachill 28 ex as the water isnt good in there and i dont know how to clean it out as i dont want to break the cords and filter that is connected

I ended up cleaning out the water with a towel sprayed with a vinegar water spray and whipped it out again still dont know it if was right but seemed to do the trick. No more smelly water atleast. Thanks
Dear Tania, When you will open the water tank/drawer there is a water bung place from the inside which can be located at the left corner. You can remove that bung to drain out the water. Once water is drained you can clean it and put the bung properly in place. You may add few drops of vinegar, lemon or air freshener to avoid the water from getting smelly.

What area does it cover
It doesn’t, it’s a terrible product and if you use it in cooler months like I did it’s seems fantastic but then when it gets hot it does nothing at all even if you put ice in it like they suggest. Then when you realise it’s a terrible product and want to return it you’re met with rude customer service reps and they won’t take it back but they’ll still happily take your money. Save an extra $100-$150 on top of the purchase price and get a split system. That decision you WONT regret!!

No...evaporative air cooler is useless in Summer. Particularly if you live in a humid area.

Not working do you have a crew that does house calls to check instructions have been done correctly and completely
