It's generally a good unit although there are some fundamental design issues and inconsistencies with the listed unit performance specifications and it's true performance. I have the ION651 - which has the HEPA filter on it as well. There are a few things that are not ideal though, unfortunately the humidity accuracy is only +/- 5% accurate, so if… Read more ·  1

you want to control the humidity precisely then it will not be very accurate. Although this is standard for many residential units, I would like to see at least a +/- 3% accuracy which is also a market standard hygrometer accuracy. It's also notably unfortunate that they have explained this accuracy level as an intentional design form to stop the unit from cycling on and off too frequently in the user manual. This in my eyes is a poor explanation for this specification, as this could be accounted for in the software without intentionally compromising the accuracy of a hygrometer, which is a fundamental feature of this device. As well as that, what pains me the most is that it is called a 50L a day unit, but only draws 40L a day with the HEPA filter on. When you first purchase this item, before you have gone into depth of the various manuals, you would naturally act on the understanding that the HEPA filter is removable, as it is marketed in such a way, but the user manuals states that it is not recommended. So in reality, removing the HEPA filter is a technical possibility, but is not recommended in the manual to avert machine issues, which for anyone interested in preserving their unit reads as a warning against doing so. This essentially means the unit's true capacity is 40L a day, as well as all the other specs being inferior to what is advertised without the HEPA filter, an apparent essential component of the unit. So this is unfortunate as I do believe that there is a grey area here in terms of how they have advertised the unit and it's realistic performance specifications.

These details are disappointing. Other notable details are that it is quite loud, so if you're not familiar with what 46db's sounds like then I would do some research, as depending on it's location in proximity to your bedroom it may be quite noticeable and disruptive. It also doesn't have a pump for the hose outlet, which makes using the hose quite inconvenient as the unit would need to be elevated which is not an elegant solution.

Other than that it has been a reliable unit and has dehumidified well. Using it with the Tuya smart home app has allowed ease of automation and scheduling. The unit also looks relatively nice and is enjoyable to use.

If IonMax wishes to contact me I would be happy to correspond.

I'll buy another – This is a great unit, I use it down stairs where we have a problem with dampness, the 5l capacity if filled 3 or 4 times a day. Mould is under control, books and papers don't have that damp feeling. The only down side it does heat up the room a bit so we run it overnight in summer and winter is fine. The air quality is crispy. This model is… Read more ·  1

easy to move around on the rollers, controls are simple, easy to empty. All in all I would get another one.

Good dehumidifier but very poor app for remote control option – Dehumidifier works well, reasonably quiet and controls humidity within a few degrees of where set. The ionmax app is terrible, despite various help line calls, could not get it to connect. If you wish to program on off times or operate remotely (that is why we bought it) then I wouldn’t recommend. If you just want to switch it on and off manually, then it works as described and does lower humidity reasonably quickly.. Show details ·  1

It’s ok – Pumps out a lot of heat whilst dehumidifying. The timer in the app doesn’t work very well,

Strong and love it when I empty the bucket – Strong unit, does blow out warm air but it great when you want to dry your clothes. Not too noisy plus sucks moisture from the air. Wifi not working anymore on the model. Ionmax retracted wifi capability on most models. Show reply
