Having recently bought a two bedroom Melbourne apartment I purchased the unit a few days ago to assist with dreadful window condensation (old windows/double brick apartment) after a recommendation from neighbours, and it’s been nothing short of brilliant.
No more condensation, and even though my apartment in no way smelt/felt damp I’ve left it running during the day and I’ve been amazed at how much water it’s extracting!! Full tank overnight (on low) and two full tanks a day. My mind boggles and I realise that moisture would have been settlin...

Purchased the AU1910DD from Kogan a year ago for $469.
On the high setting it seems to perform quite well at reducing humidity, according to my humidity meter. Clothes are effectively dried indoors in winter, and it helped dry my carpets after steam cleaning. The room is slightly warmed and left with a slight fragrance, which I would describe as a slightly metallic smell.
The noise level on the high setting is about what you would expect -- similar to a split system air con. So not particularly quiet, but not obnoxious either.
Oddly, the ...
Read morelow mode may be subjectively worse in terms of noise, even if its decibel level may be lower. There are other reviewers mentioning this as well. I suspect it might be due to the lower fan speed causing some turbulence inside the housing. It sounds a bit like a whining noise ("woooo") and is audible even from an adjacent room with the door closed. This whining noise is not present on the high mode. A possible solution might be a firmware update to run the fan slightly faster on the low setting to try and get it out of that turbulence band. If anyone from Ausclimate is reading this, feel free to send me an experimental firmware with a faster fan speed in low mode! Fortunately the high mode is the one you'll probably be using most of the time as the low mode isn't really powerful enough for reducing high humidity rooms in a reasonable timeframe. Low mode seems more geared towards running all day to prevent humidity levels from increasing, rather than actually decreasing humidity.Purchased in at Kogan.com for $469.

I had been looking at dehumidifiers for a little while but especially after all the rain we had in Sydney over the summer I amped up my research. After looking online and speaking with some sales people in various stores I opted for the Ausclimate unit. Was happy to drive to Warrawong from Sydney to pick one up.
We have a fairly large full window room that gets quite a bit of condensation during the cooler months. Since running the unit over the past 3 weeks we haven't had one drop of moisture on the windows.
It has a laundry option on it ...

I purchased one via Appliances Online after being away for a few days to come back and find that my house smelled musty after all the rain we've had recently, and everything felt damp. It's easy to move from room to room as needed, and I've only had it for a couple of days, but it's already making an appreciable difference. Love it!

I bought the cool seasons dehumidifier from Amazon when they were reduced to $379 to price match Appliances Online.
I spoke with Ausclimate prior to purchase to ensure the model best suited our needs. After delivery we felt it was a little noisy so rang Ausclimate who asked for a video so they could listen to the noise and dispatched a replacement machine immediately.
The new dehumidifier was just as noisy so again we rang and were told they could send out another or refund in full what we paid. As there was a two year warranty it was suggested...

It was defiantly well worth the money and gives me good piece of mind that the air quality is now safe for my kid to breath in, it has also helped with hay fever issues in our house.

It's been less than a week since I received this product, honestly I am asking myself why didn't I get one year's ago. I live in Melbourne with a cool climate and I am just amazed how much water this product draws out of the air. In the bathroom I use it not only as a dehumifier to remove the moisture but also to heat up the room. In fact I do not use the ceiling fan any longer, no more foggy mirrors and wet walls. Its a fantastic product, Russell from Ausclimate thank you for recommending this product to me.

I took my time to research which humidifier would best suit my needs as climate in Syd beaches is mild. I went for the desiccant model after talking with Peter and couldn’t be happier. They had a bit of a funny smell at first but dissipated but does a fab job at reducing moisture in the air. We had a lot of condensation on the windows and has helped a lot with that. Also does a great job of drying towels in the bathroom. Amazing how much water it pulls out. Nice clean looking model, easily portable. Find the water reservoir a bit difficult to put in some times if not lined up correctly but would highly recommend it

Really love this machine. It has been fantastic over winter for keeping the condensation out of the kids bedrooms and the moisture in the bathroom and laundry in the evenings. We have used the laundry mode in winter to dry a load of washing which it accomplishes easily and keeps the room warm too. Definitely a great cooler season dehumidifier. We have another Ausclimate which we'll use for summer as it won't push out the warmth that this one does.

I bought this product to place in my astronomical observatory to reduce the amount of moisture that my electronic equipment is subjected to. After a night of imaging there is often a heavy dew present in the cool climate here in Victoria.
The de-humidifier removes the moister very effectively which will reduce the possible damage and wear of the electronic equipment over time. I have the drain hose feeding out the bottom of the deck that my observatory is built on.
The unit works perfectly and it gives me peace of mind that my expensive electronic equipment will be free of excess moisture.

I bought this product on the recommendation of my neighbour, and am glad I did. We both live rural Victoria with paddocks surrounding us, and moisture is a real problem. I would absolutely recommend the Ausclimate Cool Seasons dehumidifyer, as it draws so much moisture from the air, really helps with taking the freeze out of the room, and is quiet enough to have in your bedroom while sleeping. My kids and hubby are amazed at the amount of water that 'I' empty from the tank, although it is easy enough for a child/husband to empty. I move my uni...
Read moret around to all of our bedrooms, but plan on buying additional units in the future. Our bedrooms aren't heated, and it has changed the climate in our rooms, from moist winter freeze to comfortable and it makes our oil heaters much more effective, as they aren't battling with moist antarctic temperatures first, prior to heating. (There is also a laundry mode for additional drying) I was dreading having to change our windows to double-glazed, but couldn't afford 15K to do so, this unit has been an effective compromise. I highly recommend this unit and the after sales service has been great too.Purchased in for $580.

I’m asking for advice, looking at purchasing one of these appliances, however unsure of right type, I live in Sydney, approx 1 hour south west, semi rural area, it gets very cold in winter, but hot summer, haven’t had moisture issues, not even condensation on windows, however since this years floods we have had mould on our lounge in one room, after cleaning it away, we can still smell mould in that room, but can’t see any anywhere, any advice to help me choose the right appliance would be greatly appreciated
I think that theausclimate cool-seasons premium 10L desiccant dehumidifier would be ideal.
Can you switch back and forth between using the drainage hose and using the water collection tank? The instructions ask you to punch out a piece on the back the dehumidifier in order to install the hose, and I want to know if this permanently alters the function of the dehumidifier.
Hi Halley
No, it won't permanently alter the function of the dehumidifier.
Even after you have popped out the piece in the back, the water will still flow into the bucket. Once you attach the gravity ...
Just purchased the 10L Ausclimate (AU1910DD). Working well except when on low mode overnight it starts to make a whistle like noise - quite high pitched that wakes us up? What causes this and how do we fix this issue? Thanks

AusClimate Cool Seasons removes indoor moisture by using a Zeolite desiccant as a dehumidifying and drying material. The dehumidifier effectively extracts moisture, and keeps it contained within the unit.
There are 3 models available:
- The unit for maximum room size of 30m², which can remove 7 litres of moisture per day.
- The unit for a maximum room size of 50m², which can remove 10 litres of moisture daily.
- The Premium 10L model, which is also designed for rooms up to 50m², but has more advanced features.
Features
- By removing high levels of indoor moisture, running this dehumidifier can reduce condensation, musty smells, dust mites and bacteria. These help to make a room friendlier for asthma and allergy sufferers, and for the general wellbeing of everyone.
- A drainage hose removes water from the unit when it’s reached capacity. This means you’re not required to keep manually emptying the water tank.
- A Nano silver filter kills viruses and bacteria when they make contact with the filter, making using this dehumidifier a way to make your indoor space more hygienic.
- A dedicated Laundry mode is a bonus, as it can dry indoor washing. This is ideal for rainy days or if you don’t have an outdoor clothesline.
- A timer lets you run the dehumidifier according to your schedule. This timer can be set for a maximum of 8 hours on the 10L model, and 12 hours on the 10L Premium model.
Points of Praise
- Reviewers were pleasantly surprised at how much moisture this dehumidifier was able to draw out of the air. They reported that it does a fantastic job at removing condensation, and at drying laundry.
- This unit worked exceptionally well in removing dew and other moisture in colder climates. It also took the edge off freezing cold temperatures, which was a relief for reviewers.
- Some benefits reviewers enjoyed from using this dehumidifier include: electronics being better protected from moisture, mould-free bedrooms, the elimination of steam in a windowless bathroom, and for helping to alleviate the symptoms of allergies.
