Brilliant Service will always recommend. S5aff are Brilliant and kind. We are all people
Travelled from Perth to Adelaide. We did this because of our excellent experience on The Ghan several years ago. The food and scenery was outstanding. As was the pre-boarding entertainment at Perth. Regrettably the following tarnished the experience: - no responses to emailed queries after booking. - our preferred "off train" experience, at… Read more
Kalgoorlie, was fully booked weeks prior to departure. So we had to stay on the train despite this "tour" being included in the fare. - the second "off train" experience (stargazing with drinks and snacks) was a flop! A very cloudy night and no real contingency plan. The drinks were hard to "find" and very limited. Same with the promised "off train" food. - our cabin, at the end of our carriage, was too noisy. (Apparently the cabins in the middle of the carriage were okay). A common complaint from those travelling in Gold Premium.
On balance the $5,000+ fare, for the two of us for a couple of days was not good value! If you choose this "Journey Beyond" be aware!
Cancelled our Paspaley Pearl Tour because of "bad weather" apparently. Weather was perfect and you guys still ran the trip. Over booked were you??? Not happy Jan. Disgusting culture to do this to tour customers. Show details
6 Weeks waiting for a refund – My parents trip was cancelled due to track damage back in March. 6 weeks later and several calls and emails later, we are yet to receive our refund. Always told a different story each time as to when to expect their money back, nor will they disclose how much of a refund was to be expected. Their dream trip has now been destroyed and worse still,… Read more
they have to fight for their money to be returned. We will now be getting advice from Fair Trading. DEFINITELY DONT RECOMMEND
Poor customer service on Journey Beyond! – Trip was cancelled due to flooding on the Nullabor Plain. Since I had to drive 4 1/2 hours to get to Sydney, I hd to book a hotel for the previous night. I also prepaid parking. Since they did not notify me in advance of the cancellation and I arrived at the designated time and place of departure (it had been flooded for 3 weeks) I tried to get… Read more
compensation for my hotel stay and parking. Nope. They spend mega dollars on advertising but nothing for good customer service. They were rude and unhelpful. Wouldn't take them ever again.
No refund for compassionate reasons – Last year we booked a trip on the Indian Pacific from Perth to Sydney, something my husband has always wanted to do. In January/February he was diagnosed with lung cancer, on top of emphysema. He was reacting positively to the treatment until the 14th August when we were informed that the cancer had become terminal. He was admitted to hospital… Read more
informed radiation would be tried but no promises. He really didn't want to cancel the trip on the Indian Pacific but have been advised by Dr's he shouldn't travel as they don't know how long he has left. Even if he is still with us in April it will be impossible for him to travel as he is on an oxygen concentrator 24/7. I requested a refund under compassionate circumstances was told under no circumstances was that done. I have a Dr's certificate stating he should not travel. I find this very poor from a company that says it prides itself on customer service. No insurance at the time because we had other aspects of the trip to tie down e.g. Hotel in Adelaide, Flight to Adelaide, Cruise from Adelaide to Fremantle. All of these other aspects of the trip have been refunded on compassionate grounds. I am willing to pay an appropriate cancellation fee. I find this response is very disappointing. I gave them 8 months notice. They can sell these seats quite easily as I know that the reason we booked 2024 was because even that far out in 2022, the trip was booked solid all of 2023. I will not be recommending this company to anyone.
BEWARE…No Refund of $1,800 Deposit For Genuine Cancelletions! – I booked a trip on The Ghan earlier this year but had to cancel for genuine health reasons. Travel Beyond refused to refund my $1,800 deposit…not even on compassionate grounds…as per their terms and conditions (and there’s several different T&C’s for different years online). My departure date wasn’t for another three months, so I have no doubt it would be easily re-filled. This is double-dipping on their part. Show details
No Compassion No Empathy – This was the worst experience I have had. Firstly I was meant to go on the Ghan last year but they cancelled because of co-vid so they gave us a credit. I arranged to go this year in 15/7/22. My family summoned me to go to Perth on the Wednesday as mum has gone into palliative care. I informed Journey Beyond I needed to cancel. Mum passed in the… Read more
early hours of 15/7. I contacted Journey Beyond if they would refund my money on compassionate grounds. I had to go through the trauma of presenting evidence to them from the hospital and the doctors for proof mum passed and then proceeded to tell me they will not be refunding me but offered me 1/2 credit towards my next trip. So they wanted even more money from me. They showed no compassion no empathy no sympathy. All they wanted was my money. What would you choose rush to your mum who is dying or go on the trip ??
