Surprisingly Good! – Needed a cheap BBQ as my old one rusted out. Bought this cheapie and cooked a mega awesome meal! You can cook so much food on it! Easy to assemble. Plate flexes under heat Cops the wind like all BBQs but never blew out. Show details

good entry level flat top – Easy to assemble. Reviews stating coating coming off, first paragraph in manual tells you this will happen. The coating is just to prevent bare metal from rusting in transit. I sanded the coating off before first use, then seasoned three times with canola oil. Made smash burgers first time and they were a big hit. I would recommend this BBQ to… Read more

anyone. Cheap introduction to flat top grilling. May upgrade to a more premium product later, but for now this'll do. As for people saying it won't get hot enough, On high, my hotplate gets to 300 celsius(500F).

Absolute piece of crap – I drove for over an hour round trip to buy this today. I can see why it has been discontinued. If screw holes don't line up it is impossible to assemble, and I have assembled many things and was using an impact driver where there was space to - it simply does not go together. In one case there is a thread attached to a hole but not exactly; it… Read more

overlaps the hole so there is no way the bolt can go through. Wheel axles are too short if you put the wheels around the right way and too long the other way. The lower rack arrived bent. Will never even get far enough to see if the paint peels as others have said. No idea how I'm going to take it apart and return it. Suffice to say I will never buy Jumbuck again. I should have known when they used rhyming slang for their name.

Absolutely hopeless BBQ! – After only two barbecues on this product, the black paint has peeled off in large sections of the plate leaving a pitted and stained surface. One of the burners failed to ignite making it a three burner BBQ  Show details

Not hot enough! – Like the unit but the gas jets are either too far away from the plates / grills or just not up to the job. This results in insufficient heat in the hotplates and taking far too long to cook steaks, chops and burghers properly which then end up being dry. I'm certainly unwilling to risk cooking sausages and pork due to the too low heat of the … Read more

'hotplates' and 'grill'! Was it ever road tested?

Before it's junked I'm considering having the hotplate rest bars lowered as a possible solution. This will mean reducing the size of the hotplates as well.

Total garbage, don't waste your time – Don't normally leave reviews, but in this case I have to warn people about this junk. My main issue with this is the hotplate. The coating continues to come off (you'd think this would only happen after the first use or two). I followed all the instructions with seasoning etc, but the coating continues to come off during cooking and you get black… Read more

staining over your food. The coating has come off to the point where the entire hot plate is rusted. It's going to the tip, I can't even be bothered taking this junk back to Bunnings. My old Beefeater hotplate lasted over 15 years without this crap. Cheap junk. Went and bought a Weber.

Love this! – Great purchase, definitely recommend. Was super easy to use and clean and was honestly so easy to build. We love the flat plate to cook sausages on mostly and makes for very easy weeknight dinners in Summer. Would recommend to friends if they were looking, Jumbuck makes great BBQ's give them a go  Show details

So cheap & love it – My husband & I love it. Cooks everything great, so easy & simple use, cleaning it it a breeze, can't go wrong with it, it's so cheap too. Moving it around is especially for me, I have trouble picking up things due to my all over body arthritis & it's been so easy for me. We have this really expensive BBQ that we hate, don't bother, it's do not worth it, we opted for this & never been happier.  Show details

Cheap junk – Better to spend more & get better productt. Thin plate bends when hot so oil runs everywhere. Had to scrape hot plate coating off completely, as it kept flaking. Good size cooking area is the only positive. Very cheap at Bunnings, but better to spend more on something that can last.  Show details

Easy to use & Easy to clean – Basic style bbq that is easy to use & easy to clean. Having a flat plate allows the maximum amount of food to be loaded onto it. Having the trolley allows us to move it around the alfresco decking.A very affordable option if on a tight budget. We paid $159 The initial purchase was returned as the thread wasn't drilled correctly for the screws supplied however Bunnings exchanged happily. Highly Recommended  Show details

JUMBUCK Barbeques from Bunnings are JUNK ! – The gas flow is so poor you cannot seriously cook anything on it. Other have reported the same problem. In desperation some people drill out the jets. Risky !!! One word... the message is clear JUMBUCK = JUNK. Not surprised to see other Jumbuck models being recalled. They can't get the gas flow right !  Show details

Long-lasting Potential – Coming to us as a gift including gas bottle (2008), we are not complaining. As a user of this JUMBUCK 4 Burner; hot plate and grill we found it suits our needs. First of all; the weather lid is designed with a lip that supports it on the bbq as a wind break, so the flames are protected from going out when in use. After easy assembly we… Read more

seasoned the hot plate and grill with oil and adjusted the flames accordingly. From then on it requires little cleaning maintenance and had no rust developing.

Side shelves are generous compared to some bbq's of today (2015). The wire rack below are slightly clumsy for me, yet it can be utilised to support lightweight BBQ paraphernalia.

Ignition is simple with a push in and then turn left (anti-clockwise) to release gas flow.... Naturally the mental is not as solid compared to some expensive models, although it is tough enough to wheel about; it does not behave like a shopping trolley :)

Since we don’t keep our JUMBUCK BBQ covered; after a while paintwork does get tired looking from built up grease and outdoor weather even under a patio and screws will appear rusty… All of which can be restored with a $3.00 can of paint and some rust inhibitor. The grease tray underneath slides comfortably and collects fat residue.

Please note: If you have trouble finding the instructions; please try unpacking the entire box and lay out the parts accordingly, too see if anything is missing before going back to the retailer. I’m sure the retailer would be most obliging to help you if anything is amiss.

Furthermore; this is a low price range BBQ not to be compared to your top of the range configurations etc. It is not grand in appearance and doesn’t have all the bells and whistles… It is however quite suitable, functional and long-lasting pending on how you wish to maintain it? Albeit, anyone can ruin an expensive model also; by neglect!

I suggest the purchase of a flame-diffuser for underneath the grill section as it stops cooking fat from directly falling on the gas flames.

October 2008; JUMBUCK 4 burner Flat Plate and Grill was - $99.00 and Flame-diffuser $10.00 at Bunnings. BCF Gas refill bottle - $19.95 (2015) Good height and size for our Family BBQ/Parties

Worst quality product ever bought – Paid $600 from Bunnings, get it home and the heat plate is rusted. Brand new product with rusted parts and the black paint coming off it. I wish I'd taken it back right then but due to a terrible build, it took 3 hours to assemble. Now, after about 18 months with a good quality cover, the stainless steel has surface rust, all the black paint… Read more

coating is flaking away, revealing rust. For the money I paid, this is the worst product I've ever bought. Jumbuck ripped me off and so did Bunnings. No quality control by either company - they're just happy to rip off customers with their rubbish. Don't trust them!!!

Expensive, extremely poor quality.

I think this it isn't worth the money – I bought one from Bunnings and opened it up and right from the outset it is cheap and nasty. The metal is frail, no backing plate to stop wind from blowing out the burners, no screws or wheels were in sight. It had a scratch on it and it looked like the hot plate was partly rusted in parts. I dug a bit deeper and found instructions tucked… Read more

tighlty and out of sight under the hot plate. I have not pulled anything else out yet as I've ask Bunnings to replace it. No wheels in sight. There should be some meaningful directions that see say instructions under hot plate. Or wheels and screws under hot plate, as you open it.

Very low quality metal
