Weber Baby Q Series

I have a 15 year old Weber Q which had its electronic igniter fail. I contacted Weber to find out where I could obtain a replacement. After a correspondence with Weber they sent me a replacement with no questions asked. Their service was far beyond the normal in this day and age. It is a pity more organisations did not deliver this level of service. Show details · 1
The Baby Q is honestly the perfect size for us. It’s easy to move around, cooks evenly, and doesn’t use much gas. We’ve been using it a few times a week and love how convenient it is. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting something simple and reliable. Thanks guys. Show details

We bought this to replace a very old but similar BBQ. The BabyQ is small and lightweight and will fit just about anywhere. The size is perfect for a two person household and occasional entertaining. The red option looks very smart. It comes with two grill plates but we also purchased a flat plate for versatility. The supplied gas line fits the… Read more
modern gas bottles with the large external screw thread, so if you don't have these you will need to buy one.
The large knob for the gas regulator allows for precise control of temperature. Most things we cook go fine at setting 3 or 2 and it can go much hotter if needed.
The push piezo electric igniter is pretty much a joke, working only about 1 in 10 times. The exposed cables make it look like an afterthought. If you buy one of these you will need a gas lighter with a long neck that can reach the gas ring.
Overall it does the job apart from the piezo igniter. If you can live with that it is a great product.

Not thinking enough Weber bbq stand – I want to complain about bbq stand that design to use with this bbq. It’s folded and locked bbq with stand but not lock bbq lid and grill which even you aware but sometimes it’s open and hit the floor. I guess if Weber can design to fold stand, why don’t you design to lock bbq not to open and lock those metal grills inside too. Very annoying.… Read more
Wheels material made from cheap plastic, not recommend this stand but bbq itself I have no complaint. I scratch my bbq first time because off this stand.

Every home should have one – Weber Q 1000 with a long hose. Very solid construction and features are designed well. Igniter switch makes it easy to start. Control burner knob for gas output. Lid handle is cool to touch when in operation. The drip tray is easily accessible and visible to remove to clean. This beauty is small enough to store inside your home or shed. … Read more · 2
When I say " Every home should have one" I mean it. Any power blackouts and you're still going to be able to cook a meal for your family. Perfect for camping and even cooking on the balcony. There are extras for this BBQ like a separate 1/2 hotplate if you want to cook eggs etc so you're really covered. It's the best little BBQ we've had here. It's big enough to cook for a family of 4 -6.
What a bloody beauty – I recently purchased a Weber baby Q premium and couldn’t be happier. I user my Weber for cooking a basic snag and steak to the Sunday night lamb roast including veggies and highly recommend it. The raised hood with inbuilt thermometer allow you to cook those larger dishes and includes an electronic infinite lighter. These inclusions only come with the premium model. Show details · 1
My first bbq furnace – Bought the Weber Baby q for my balcony and even outing use which is quite easy to take with. I buy this one because friend recommended and myself also checked product review rating. It is easy to use and temperature stable. It is potable bbq so I have to prepare a rack for it. The original rack is way to expensive. Generally I am happy with this bbq and what it performs in future. Show details · 1

Flame safeguard device on Baby Qs not retrospective!!! – For months or probably even years now Weber has copped a lot of flack from their customers about Weber’s lack of traction in getting a bbq with a flame safeguard to market. Ziggy has done it but Weber hasn’t. In response Weber has been at pains to say they’ve been developing a unique solution that won’t require a gas fitter to fit and that it’s… Read more
being tested but it’s ‘coming’.
I was absolutely dumbfounded when I received an email from Weber on 24 March 2023. In short Weber announced in this email (for the first time) that the new provisions are not retrospective. They said “The updates are not retrospective, and do not apply to gas barbecues manufactured before re-certification. If your barbecue does not have the permanent marking on the data label or packaging, it was manufactured prior to re-certification and it is still can be connected to a bayonet fitting on a caravan by a non-qualified person.“ I understand this ‘recertification’ occurred in or around September 2022.
So in other words all those people who have Webers manufactured before this recertification event had absolutely nothing to worry about. They never did! Weber should have said that ages ago! Unfortunately Weber has caused angst and confusion amongst their customers and they’ve lost a lot of business as a result.
Give Weber a Break – All you people complaining about the Weber Q not having a flame out safety feature, perhaps you should have another think. When i purchased mine it come with a POL screw in gas fitting. I was the one who went and purchased a Bayonet Fitting and had the gas plumbing done to my Motorhome. What i am saying is Weber do not sell the Weber Q to be… Read more · 1
coupled via a Bayonet fitting but directly to a gas bottle. The governing body in their "wisdom" has come up with a regulation out of the blue and i for the life of me cannot see the difference in putting my Weber under the awning with a gas bottle next to it, or having the Weber in the same place connected with a bayonet fitting to the Motorhome. Still the same thing only with a longer gas line further from the gas bottle, which will not change the flame out situation at the Weber as it will still empty the same gas bottle if not discovered. In fact i feel safer with the gas bottle further remote from the Weber as i will be able to access the bottle valve in a safer area in the case of an emergency.
Compact, great cooking, not disappointed – Purchased at Christmas as we’ve moved to a smaller house and had no space for our previous six burner. Six months of use on, and we are not disappointed. We’ve cooked all sorts of things in here and so far, no complaints: Steak, chicken kebabs, croc kebabs, fish in foil, patties, sausages, eggplant slices, corn ..... no drama. It does cook… Read more · 1
relatively fast, so we are Do the proper preparation: Get our accompaniments ready, bring our product to room temp, preheat the BBQ, pay attention to our cooking times. I suspect those with complaints may not adhere to that system. Our old BBQ, it took ages to cook, at cool spots, and it made the cooking a bit of a drawn out affair. If you want to stand around your BBQ for an hour turning sausages, this one is not for you.
We’re a family of four, perfect size for us, and I’ve cooked for six no problem. If you’re planning regulate large cook ups, you need a bigger size.
Plates clean easily. We did take on board a recommendation to get the Weber Q cleaner to help with shifting the grease out of the domed lid and I’m glad we did.
No regrets.

after a terrible experience with a Ziggy (the small round one) and a worse experience returning it to BBQs Galore (Ziggy is their house brand), I went to the Weber store and paid $399 for a premium Baby Q. Nice little unit, plenty of cooking space, roomier hood for larger things, easy to set up. They even included the battery for the sparker.… Read more · 1
Well-made, solid, with weird little table-things you clip onto the sides.
Did a test cook of a lamb rump, seared it first and then put a baking tray over the grill, then put the meat into a small baking tin. Turned down to the lowest gas, the temp dial on the hood read around 195c. So a tad warm for any kind of slow cooking.
Weber requires their sellers to up-sell like mad, so be ready for that. I got the brush to clean the grill, and the bendy scraper to scrape down the insides, but there's a world of add-ons and doodads (and lots of imitations on ebay and temu!).
After the Ziggy, I see why people are so happy about Weber.
Webber baby q – As a single father the Webber baby q series is the perfect size for me, not to big not to small and the food comes out to be delicious, aswell as being on a carnivore diet the taste of cooking steaks on this is better than what I expected. Not having a stand for it is fine because I have it sitting on a bench outside but a stand would be so much… Read more · 1
more handier, easy to clean and easy to keep out of the way of things, don’t think I can fault anything yet as I’ve just gotten it

Best customer service ever – We had a minor issue with our Webber and contacted customer service. They were amazing and genuinely cared… without even asking they arranged a replacement to our door, and picked up our old bbq Best customer service ever!!!

Good camping BBQ – I'd been using an old thrown together BBQ and decided to buy a Weber Baby Q. It doesn't do the job any better than my $50 BBQ but it is a lot neater looking. I didn't like how the lid fitted loosely so I used washers to take up the loose fitting lid. It works great but I don't think it's worth the price tag. Show details
Useless for caravan – So, purchased Webber Baby Q for our caravan, then found we are unable to connect to caravan bayonet legally, due to not having a flame fail safeguard. OK, followed up and device becoming available in November 2023. Wait it out until then. Device is finally available... at $199 per device. What the.... So my Webber Baby Q cast $320 + accessories… Read more
and now another $199 for this device. Turning into a very expensive BBQ. Think I'll go get the Ziggy that has all this, for a lot less at $319.
Cant even cook a steak without broiling it, pizza still poor after 35 min – Basically the Baby Q is underpowered, pizza in Baby Q takes 30 to 40 minutes, in a sizzler deluxe maybe 6-10 min. In the Baby Q the underside of the pizza is soggy in the sizzler deluxe it is crisp. Show details

Best of the best – Not just baby Q but all weber bbqs are fantastic. I've never had a bad meal as long as you follow the instructions. Highly recommend any Q series depending on your needs. Only thing I would improve on is a temp gauge in the baby q series but I have an older one so maybe thier upgraded by now. Double thumbs up woo hoo!!!!
Best of the best! – This was my first ever Weber product. It’s now 15 years old and with use every other day it’s going strong. I had to replace the regulator about 5 years ago, which with the amount of use it gets was totally expected and acceptable. When I phoned Weber to order the part they were very very helpful. This product has been the catalyst for me to… Read more · 1
increase my collection to 4 Weber products over the years. And I still love this BBQ like the day I got it. I highly recommend Weber products. The only brand I use when it comes to barbecue.
Why didn't I buy one sooner ?? – I love the portability and compact nature of this bar-b-que. It is so light and easy to transport. Initially, I was a little concerned about how it would travel, but its sturdy construction handled the journey perfectly. With its easy ignition system, it delivers consistent cooking results, and the end result of the food cooked was succulent and extremely tasty. It may be small in size but delivers BIG results in a handy portable package. Show details · 1
So disappointed – We bought the baby Q on recommendations from friends almost 2 yrs ago.It did not generate enough heat from day 1. Weber were no help but BCF got some help and some gas thing on the side was replaced. Worked great for another 2 or 3 roasts and then went back to slow cooker mode. We are totally disappointed and given we are about to head off on a… Read more
lap we will junk the weber as I know they will not help and look for something else. For our $320 we have a lot of agro and about 3 decent meals. After sales service? Don’t bother, there is none.

Misleading - no Flame Failure – We bought a Weber Baby-Q from the Weber website to install in our slide-out drawer in our caravan. Little did we know (& there was nothing on the website) that we cannot connect the bbq to the bayonet on the van. If that had been disclosed then we would have looked around and found the Ziggy, or decided to wait and save our money until the flame… Read more
failure was included. Weber KNEW about the requirement YEARS AGO and have done nothing but make promises. They knew but had no disclosure on the website. NOT HAPPY. We're considering returning it because it is not fit for the purpose it was bought for, and buying an alternative product. And for those who say that we've been using gas appliances in caravans for years without problems, do your research and see how many caravan fires and resultant deaths have been caused by this issue, and why the regulation was brought in.
Great small BBQ – We received this in 2017 as a freeby for buying a carpet. We have been most happy with its performance. For 2 people it is ideal. When we have guests or a small turkey we will use a larger BBQ. We are in the south of Australia but use it all year. We cook most meat outside on it in all seasons. We recently could not light it but found that a… Read more
cable for the pietzo had become dislodged while it was moved around our patio. We have a Weber portable cart for it - this is a bit ugly as it is designed to cater for several size BBQs and ours is the smaller version
flame out device – Don't know what all the fuss is about. I agree that it would be preferable if there was a safety device, but how long have you be using it with out a problem? how many injuries have been caused by this issue since Baby q was released to market? I haven't heard of any. Without knowing this information everybody's comments are based on opinion not… Read more · 1
fact. How many people out there have their home made crab/crayfish cookers with no protection. have you stoped using them. You have more chance of getting hurt walking to the weber. So I say suck it up buttercups and let weber produce and supply a quality product, rather than rush through an item that might not be to their usually standard. As a Gas Fitter I have no safety concerns but will not leave the BBQ alone during windy conditions that might blow out a flame.
Like cleaning? This is the BBQ for you – Bought and used a Baby Q for 3 years. This week I put it in the rubbish bin. Absolute sod of a thing to clean. A major job to clean, sharp edges for cutting you and grazed knuckles from scrubbing the bleeding thing. Gone back to a flat open BBQ, now I know what I was missing. Show details

Safety is the issue – I have been advised by many groups and caravanners that this BBQ is not suitable any more for connection to a caravans bayonet gas connector. the new rule is applicable from oct 2022. Look around folks. I imagine there will be some fine Australian made gear that will comply.
Great little BBQ! – This is my first barbeque and I'm glad I invested in a Weber. It has been so easy to use, cooks perfectly and is easy to clean (the grill plates fit in my kitchen sink). It is also the prefect size for my 20sqm walled courtyard. I have grilled veggies, halloumi, chicken skewers, burgers, lamb chops, sausages and steak on it so far and all have been delicious! Love our baby Weber Q – We love the Weber q. It's quick and easy to fire up and can serve easily a family of 4. This is great for a impromptu steak night or ever cutlets which the kids love. I though having such a small bbq would not be great but it's actually a space saver and does exactly what we need when we need it Show reply
