If you're after an affordable and easy-to-use BBQ smoker, the Jumbuck Charcoal Grill & Smoker is a solid pick for beginners. It’s compact, lightweight, and perfect for casual backyard sessions or camping trips. The grill heats up well and the built-in thermometer helps with basic temp control. It can handle longer cooks like briskets, though you’ll need to monitor the heat since it’s not super insulated. The charcoal tray and adjustable vents do help but aren’t as precise as higher-end models.

Durability is decent for the price, but being mild steel, it might rust if left outdoors. Also, the stock charcoal could be better, so upgrading to premium lump charcoal is a smart move.

Pros: Budget-friendly, Easy to assemble & portable, Good for first-time smokers

Cons: Thin metal, can rust; Temp control is basic; Stock charcoal is hit or miss

Overall, a great starter smoker for the price. Just don’t expect competition-grade BBQ.

Purchased in at Bunnings Warehouse for $49.94.

2 in one product – Just purchased this Jumbuck Charcoal BBQ Grill and Smoker August 8th 2022 and spent yesterday assembling it. Not real easy to do, the pictures could have been larger to see a little better. Obviously not used as yet because I am attempting to find out if it is possible to use wood as well as charcoal. Saw it in Bunnings at $197.00 and liked it, but had to wait 3 days before getting it (glad I did) although paid more almost 2 years later - $178.00 but I got it discounted and its ideal size for us and compact. The Jumbuck will be under cover with the set up of a fire pit, seating (bench type) and the Jumbuck.

Purchased in at Bunnings Warehouse for $178.

Compact, stylish and practical – Picked up one of these at Bunnings last month. Was attracted by the ability to close the lid and keep the heat in and was very reasonably priced. We bought some fire starters and a charcoal chimney ($10 to $20) to help get the coals hot. So far have cooked chicken and vege skewers, sausages and heated marshmallows to make smores. Great taste and cooks fast. If you want the temperature to go up, close the lid and open the side vents (closing the vents reduces the temperature). Having a thermometer on the lid is a great addition so you can see how hot it's getting inside. As for cleaning, we just brush out the bottom with a brush after each use and store the unit in the indoors/garage away from the elements. I would recommend NOT getting this unit wet (i.e. don't leave it in rain or wash it) as it may rust. The BBQ rack is stainless steel and you can use steel wool and BBQ wipes to get the grime off. For the price, this is perfect if you don't have alot of space and want to be able to easily move the BBQ away when not using it. Highly recommended!
