Very useful little BBQ for everyday cooking
Go-Anywherehave a bigger smoker type BBQ but it is quite cumbersome to use if you just want to cook for family and quickly. the go anywhere fills this gap perfectly and is very good quality and cooks amazingly.
to the one guy complaining about the handle screws. you need to tighten them hard. it feels like it's too tight but keep turning until the handles stop wobbling. this is designed this way and will make the handles last longer.

Go-AnywhereI suggest choosing your charcoal is a priority. For most cooking small sized briquettes will burn both hot & long enough. A charcoal chimney is close to a neccessity. Once going everything bar the handles are very hot so a pair of pliers / multigrips or heat-proof mittens are needed to adjust venting. An infrared Thermometer will enable you to monitor temperatures. The lid can be removed for Hibachi style cooking or regular grill style cooking. Mastering the venting - cooking temps will allow you to cook sooo many things from whole (small) choo

If you wanna' grill then lump charcoal may be better suited. Some "very" impressive after-market accessories exist and these are worthy of your interest. I suggest lots of outdoor cooking at home to hone your skills. This will give you the confidence to take this outdoors where it belongs.Screws for handles don’t fit.
Go-AnywhereI have just opened my new Weber go anywhere and the screws provided for the handles will not go into the threaded part of the handle. They appear to be too large. I do not understand how this can happen. I will now have to hunt around for alternative screws to fit. Disappointing start Weber.
Show detailsCan’t get this to stay alight (following instructions)
Go-AnywhereWe could not get the Weber to heat up and stay alight so we could cook (per instructions)
We followed instructions for more than 5 times and each time the charcoals went out (even with more firelighters) - so we could not cook our food at all!
Also, agree with a previous reviewer that handles are flimsy
Note - most reviews listed here are not in rrlation go the Weber Go-Anywhere

Does the job
Go-Anywherewell absolutely does the job. enough for 4 maybe 6 people. easy to carry and start and clean. good quality product and not expensive. size and design helps you to do the cooking properly .
Show detailsabsolute gem so far impressed.. easy to assemble
Go-Anywhereyet to cool however, need to respond about handles to submitter... they fit perfectly but I had a wee bit of trouble with side one until I watched a great video on YouTube. made job easier. cooking on this tonight... lamb rack. Will submit further.
Show detailsHandles don't fit properly
Go-AnywhereBought this weber go anywhere grill yesterday from bcf & all 3 plastic handle covers do not fit over the metal handles properly. The plastic handles sit perfectly flush when not attached to grill but once you separate the 2 pieces & try to attach to grill there is a gap of 2-3mm & the screw provided is too short to hold the handle together. Contacted Bcf & this seems to be common with this grill & I need to buy longer screws or return the item to weber & wait for weeks to get a refund or replacement as they won't allow you to return to store for refund. Not satisfactory! Why can weber not make a handle that fits or screws that are long enough.
So far very disappointed with this product.
Is this the perfect portable charcoal BBQ? Probably
Go-AnywhereThis review is long overdue. I absolutely love this BBQ and you will too!
Thankful upgrade from the useless Smokey Joe kettle which had pointless side-vents above the coals grate (insert facepalm). Not to be confused with the Smokey Joe with the bottom-vent, that one is a great little BBQ!
Purhased this amazing little beast cheap, on Catch ($110) at the beginning of Covid and had plenty of time to aquaint myself with it since. I have a 57cm Master-Touch and a Weber Q and this little one is still my favourite. It has never let me down and bett
... Read moreer yet, has blown the minds of many of my friends with it's versatility, especially when they see it's compact size. I even hosted a BBQ in a park with 20 friends; a lot of the meat and veges being cooked off of this. Tiny but powerful! This also makes for a great table BBQ when you want to have a backyard Korean BBQ! Then doubles as a small fire pit during colder nights once all the cooking is done. Fantastic. I'm a huge fan of indirect/direct cooking, particularly with thick cut tomahawk steaks (full rib cuts). It's big enough to squeeze two side by side, with half-side charcoal (bone side) and the other half, empty (meat side). Simply heat the meat until the inner temp is rare (48') then flip the cuts over for a fiery charcoal crust to finish the meat up to medium-rare temp. Perfect everytime! Temperature control is exceptional! With the side-vents appropriately positioned under the charcoal grate and two vents in the lid, you can vary the temp as much as you need, providing you with a multitude of cooking options.Love it!
Go-AnywhereBought this mainly because the Weber Q2200 doesn't do low temp cooking.. it's awesome to cook ribs etc. Can't fault it!
Easy clean,and hasn't caught fire!
The handles had the wrong screws ( added some little washers) , but it is Chinese. So no biggie. Very good product!

Don’t Listen to the negative reviews
Smokey JoeGreat little charcoal bbq & totally worth the small price. Don’t listen to the people who say that it goes out - They obviously don’t know what they are doing. Cooking with charcoal takes a bit of getting used to. I’ve been grilling and doing long slow 8 hr cooks on this thing with great results for a couple of years now. Super efficient on charcoal and very portable.
Show details25 years old and still going strong
Go-AnywhereI've had my Go Anywhere for almost 20 years now and it's still as good as the day I got it. Great for small roasts, steaks, smoking fish, chicken wings, even small pizzas. Great in all weather however if it's windy you need to shelter it to retain the heat. Nothing better than cooking over charcoal. I love this thing almost as much as my 1985 Weber Kettle BBQ. Typical well built Weber quality.
Show detailsNot a closed grill BBQ
Smokey JoeUnfortunately, this is not a closed grill BBQ by any means. Once the lid is on, the coals immediately suffocate and the heat will immediately start declining, regardless of whether the vents are all fully open and regardless of whether there is sufficient airflow going through the vents (I tried using fans to no avail).
For some reason, the air just does not flow efficiently through the kettle. This means your coals will be dead in about 10-15 minutes. I am not the only one to have this issues, dozens of people have.
Now that you know this,
... Read moreyou now know to cook with the lid off, like a standard charcoal grill which is super disappointing, because I love long indirect closed grilling for thick steaks, roasts, fish...etc. Which is why I had purchased this little kettle. If you want to get better use from your bbq, pay a little more for the Smokey Joe with the bottom vents and ash catcher. I cooked 2 inch steaks indirectly on a mates one for 15-20 minutes then open grilled directly to sear them. They were unbelievable! The side vents on this little one are just hopeless. I have just purchased the Weber Go-Anywhere grill to replace my Smokey Joe, so watch this space for my review on that.Find out how Weber Portable Charcoal Series compares to other Charcoal BBQs

Great Bbq
Go-AnywherePortable and light weight great for grilling or roasting over coals , perfect steaks , grilled prawns i have even cooked a small leg of lamb in this little beauty , you will not be dissapointed
Show detailsA great cooker but beware and be gentle
Go-AnywhereA word of warning. Just be careful when trying to place the lid on its bracket. The second time I used it, I must of pushed the lid too hard trying to feel for the bracket and then the whole bbq fell off the table onto my deck hot coals and all. I may have to practice this manoeuvre but it is a bit unsteady on its bracket legs.
Show detailsVery cute sized bbq
Smokey JoeThe size & portability of the BBQ is very user friendly. However, it seems like it takes a long time to heat up food with the coal as it is so far away from the grill. When you try to cook the food by putting the lid on, the fire just goes out. We tried to use it once but it took so long we ended up taking the food back to cook on the pan in the kitchen. We have yet to use it again.

I'm just wondering can this unit be used indoors. thinking here of when the power goes out. I don't really have an outdoor area that I cna stand it on to use.
Absolutely
Hi Faypa, thanks for your question. We highly recommend against using any of our barbecues inside and in particular charcoal barbecues. Charcoal barbecues produce large amounts of carbon monoxide which can be fatal if not in a properly ventilated area.
Being a portable barbecue, hopefully you're able to find a place that is outdoors (like a park or beach where bbq is permitted) to take the unit should you need to barbecue.
Thanks for your reply Weber Barbecues I might buy one off the ones with legs then as I dont have a car and really wanted a small one for home use.
Would the Weber Baby Q accessories such as the breakfast & roasting packs be suitable for use with the Weber Go Anywhere? I saw on the instructions that fatty meats such as sausages should be cooked in cast iron cookware instead of directly over the rack & coals & wondered whether these are compatible.
Can it be used for 1 or 2 people and can the fuel be snuffed out for use next time? Cheers!
i have never done it but would think that it would be hard to snuff out even when you close it completely it still keeps burning
and by the time you have cocked a roast chook there is not much fuel left to save
hope this helps regards max
Yes it cooks for two people easily!! Once it gets going it cooks food really quickly. We always had coals left in the morning after use. We did small stuff like steaks and sausage so not sure how it would go on a roast.
Hi Oxford, you definitely should be able to! Especially if you're using our Weber BBQ Briquettes, as they are hot enough and long-lasting to be used in multiple cooks :)
Thanks very much for the replies. I initially thought of Thai/Asian style charcoal bucket grills I've seen in Asia but other options look good too. I'd like to do satay and steaks etc but the slower grilling done on this recipe really appeals too. I'm wondering if the coals on the Weber will be too close to get low heat without burning or needing to turn every 5 minutes.
