Value for Money but Temperamental – We have had a range of Aldi coffee machines for over 10+ years now. Each new model, I have to say, seems to be a step backwards. Luckily, Aldi’s return policy is extremely good and they just offer to swap or refund instore. This latest machine,K-fee Wave, we have returned instore now 4 times in 9 months. Things I like about the machine: It… Read more
does make a nice coffee. It’s great value for money. The capsules are reasonably priced. Aldi’s return policy is fantastic. It’s a nice design and size
The things I don’t like about this machine:
We have had a range of issues with this coffee machine from the capsules jamming, no coffee coming out, short pours on the coffee. It’s quite a noisy machine.
Overall:
If you are okay with it possibly having to be returned to the store during the warranty period, it is good value. Unfortunately it breaks down just when you really need a coffee.
Efficient and economical – These are affordable machines and you aren't limited to just ALDI pods. Urban Brew are an Australian owned company selling compatible pods with excellent flavour and no issues with pressure or flow. Consistent quality. Great machine. Show details
Great little machine, but – The Audi k-fee #12 Abruzzo pods have a manufacturing fault. The flow will slow and sometime stop, this is an intermittent annoying fault. I thought it was the machine at first, but noticed the #12 pod were full of pressure when lifting the access leaver. So I tried other pods in the range and I couldn't repeat the #12 fault. Machine is okay but often fails to provide a decent flow through the pods – Flow is often very weak and takes ages to get a cup full, even after puncturing the pod 3 times by rotating it and ejecting it prior to activation. Solution is to seriously massage pods prior to inserting them in the machine.
Love it – It is the Perfect size and style for our needs, also the the 1 litre tank is adequate. Also I love the rounded edges..which are so much easier for cleaning.
Great machine - great value – Excellent value. Working very well for years! Even when we have taken it camping! It inly takes certain pods so its hard to get them unless an aldi is around but good coffee etc! Show reply
7 yrs old and still going – I got my machine from ALDI on my birthday in Jan 2015. So if you want to talk about reliability then here are some stats for you... I usually make between 10 to 12 cups for myself and family per day that includes hot Choc pods which are denser. Doing the math and using the lower 10 pod number that's about 3650 pods per year or 25,550 pods over… Read more
the past 7 years. I double shot all pods before ejecting so that's at least 51,000 shots.
My family all use mugs so I also eject the pod, close the lever and drop a hot water shot to top it up. So if you count how many hot water shots I run through it and that to the number of just shots of any sort it has done that would total around 75,000 shots minimum in it's life cycle and it's still going.
I had 2 of these machine the first only lasted 4 years before it was smashed by accident when knocked off the kitchen bench.
Both machines have never failed during their life cycle.
Do I like the coffee? Yep, I only use ALDI pods and I have my favourites, some I hate because they taste bitter. I have a Decaf every night and so I know that tastes ok too.
Until recently I lived in QLD and the coffee temp was always OK. Now I live in snow country on tank water which is heaps cooler than the QLD tap water and I do have to heat the coffee in the microwave for 30 seconds in winter.
I never run a rinse cycle because the last shot is ALWAYS water so it is always clean at first shot.
I am fortunate that I don't get limescale in the water either.
I live by 2 important rules. 1.) NEVER let the water reservoir run dry. 2.) Always finish with a hot water shot (large)
I know people who have had these machines and they have had problems because they don't flush them. I tell what to do and their problems always vanish
The only weak point I will mention is the bottom leading edge of the water tank. On both machines I have had I have managed to chip the bottom front corner under the tank but it does not affect it and is more to do with me being clumsy.
Nope, I'm not affiliated with the company nor do I have a vested interest in any way, I'm just what you would call a very satisfied customer with a reliable product.
Just remember if you buy one, not everyone is the same but they are in general a marvelous machine.
My local rugby club has 2 in their canteen which they have had now for at least 4 years and they go through more pods than I do.
Good small Coffee maker – We use the machine several years by now.The coffee made by the machine is hot and taste very good. Only problem I have is that some of the capsules seem not to work , as not enough water passes trough. Means it blockes after a third of the cup is full. Feel that's quite annoying. Show details · 1
Good solid machine – Replaced older smaller unit with the Wave and the build quality is noticeably better. No issues with temperature or pressure and the pods are punctured well. Good unit to use. Very happy.
robust and reliable – This is our second wave machine. This is one of the best of the machines that were sold to Aldi. The new ones at aldi are flimsy. This is a great machine.
Great machine! – Purchased this to replace Latissa (I think that is what it was called) machine that stopped working. This is a great basic machine. Happy with colour, black. We weren’t interested in having a milk frother or bells and whistles. It doesn’t take up too much room on the bench. It was a good price. Quick delivery. Only negative for us is the size of the water tank but hey, that is a first world problem.
coffee machine – This has to be the worst coffee machine ever. It does not fill the cup and I have to keep the button pressed in all the time. The coffee is only . warm Very disappointed with this machine
It spits coffee & water everywhere and makes only half a cup! – It spits coffee and water all around it making a real mess and half the time it emits the coffee stream only half way and then it just dribbles and emits steam but refuses to fill the waiting cup of coffee. A wasted pod and tastes lousy. Very disappointed. Obviously very poor quality control. I would not recommend this brand.

K fee machine – I was offered to return this machine free of charge and it was tested and sent back to me with some coffee pods. It appears to be working better. I will see how it goes. Customer service was very good. Show details
Great have the new Coffee machine – Great coffee's with convenience. We would be even happier if K-fee would create biodegradable pods, or re-useable pods, as we are conscious of the waste created from the existing pods.
