Disappointed – I have swapped twice, now on third fan, and once again, the temperature display is showing 10C higher than the actual temperature. Have owned the other same model for almost 2 years, and temperature display has been fairly accurate since I’ve owned it. Show details

Pleased, then not so pleased – Pleased with the product when first purchased. Will confess, have considered the Kambrook name somewhat synonymous with quality and reliability ie. just part of the furniture for as long as you can remember. For $129, I did not expect a considerable loss in power after a mere 4-5 months and no way of cleaning the fans. I also have the same experience as recent reviews and believe KFA839 model is built for the 12 month warranty and nothing more. Show details

Works perfectly – Easy to use and a relatively quiet operation but still pumps out a lot of air. I was pleasantly surprised and ended up buying a second one for my bedroom, overall I'm happy with the purchase and the remote comes in very handy. Show details

Un-reliable – Very short life span. Have had one replaced under warranty. A second has just stopped working. No power. Very disappointing. I have had the same experience as recent reviews. When they work they are very good, but it's a gamble as to how long they last. Show details

Broken product – We hardly use the product and now with summer approaching, the fan just suddenly starts to beep every 30sec? And the physical buttons on the tower stops working and we can only resort to remote control. What's going on? Show details

Stopped working after 2 years – Bought it for $130 and it was great while it lasted for about 2.5 years but now its stopped working. There is no way to even clean the inside components and i had approached a Kambrook service center since my warranty was over and the technician consultation fees itself is $70... so ur better off buying a new product with new warranty..... Overall pretty disappointed with how things turned out. Show details

Don't Buy, Stopped Working After 1 Year, Poor Value for Money – Like I notice from the majority of reviews below this fan stopped working after 1 year which where we live equates to 4 months of occasional use over one summer, very poor value almost seems like it is designed to break once the 1 year warranty expires. Took it back to JB Hifi where we bought it from, they indicated it was the most common fan they… Read more

stock that is returned due to faults. Also of note this fan is designed so you can't clean it. So I have a tower fan that looks brand new that I payed $139 for which will go in the bin. I notice Kambrook gave up replying to customer reviews which shows how little respect they have for their customers.

Very, very, very poor quality !!! – 8/12/2019 - I bought 4 fans about a week ago from Harvey Norman Belrose. Within a week, one was returned and replaced for a loud clicking sound whenever it oscillates. I opened the 2nd box and immediately the fan was making a loud rattle !!! It sounds like the propeller is hitting onto the body of the fan !!! I have opened my 3rd & 4th box and… Read more

after 2 days, the fan is making a creaking and clicking sound whenever it oscillates !!

I'm currently in contact with Joanne from Kambrook to find out if I'm just unlucky to have receive a faulty batch of fans.

These fans are in our bedrooms and are switched on at night and off in the morning.

I don't have the time to keep returning and exchanging them. I just want it to work without making creaking, rattling and clicking noises !!!

Very, very, very poor quality for AUD $129 per fan !!! I was willing to pay more for the fans because the salesperson at Harvey Norman informed me that Kambrook make high quality products.

My family had many Kambrook products when i was growing up as a young boy and nothing really failed or caused any issues.......Kambrook had a great reputation and their appliances just worked !!

The box says the fans are tested for 2200 hours??? How can someone not hear a loud click, rattle or creak?? Was it a deaf person in quality control??? My bedrooms are approx 4m x 4m and I can hear it 4m away making mechanical creaking, buzzing, clicking & rattling sounds?????

Great fan, however not long before issues – Positives: Looks great, has many functional options (eg: fan speeds, timer & oscillating/rotating functionality), has a small foot print which is great for smaller rooms, shows the room temp on the screen & you can do all functions via the remote control. Negatives: Like many of the reviews here, mine malfunctioned around the 9 month mark: the… Read more ·  1

oscillating (turning) feature stopped working. Before this it started to make an odd grinding noise, which means something internal fell apart. All other features however still worked fine. The lcd screen, even when it auto dims, is pretty bright, so i covered it with some blutac. Luckily it was within the 12 month warranty so i took it back to the store (harvey norman) and they replaced it, which also came with a fresh 12 month warranty. Fingers crossed it makes it through!

Im not sure if its this device or just any electrical device in general now days, but something lasting only 9 months before breaking isnt good. My parents still have electrical items from when i was a kid, i guess then they made them to last literally forever, whereas now its made to break so you keep purchasing more which means more profits for the company.

Worked perfectly, until the warranty was up – I purchased my Kambrook KFA839 tower fan because I liked the sleek design, that it came with a remote and mainly because it was quiet. After very minimal usage over the first year the fan worked perfectly, however almost immediately after the 1 year warranty was up, it started to malfunction. Most of the buttons on the unit have stopped working,… Read more

it is also impossible to change the mode settings now. The unit beeps EVERY 40 secs, regardless of whether it is switched on or not. When it beeps the display lights up for 20 seconds. This is not ideal as I bought this fan to use on hot nights while sleeping, however the noise and brightness of the unit makes getting a good night's sleep impossible. Not impressed with the quality for the price I paid or for the amount that it has been used.

Great until it died just after the 1 year warranty expired – Great until it died just after the 1 year warranty expired The fan will randomly work on low but only from the powerpoint. None of the buttons work anymore Pros: good air flow, great height for the bed, remote control Cons: bright blue LED lights, noise, stopped working properly. Won't buy another Kambrook  Show details

Worse Fan I Have Ever Owned – This fan broke within a couple of months!! Paid $130 for it. Expected much much better! Remote was the first thing to go.. then it stopped isolating and then it would only turn on and off at the power point and not at the power button on the machine. Waste of money!  Show details

Very hard to clean – The turn table broke very easily. It makes noise while turning. And fan is noisy when you change to strong mode. All the functions are put in don't make any different when it is hot. And it is nearly impossible to clean when it gets dust. I had to take of nearly 20 screws to take it down to clean. And dont forget you still need to put them back again. Well. The only good thing is it comes with remote.  Show details

Looks nice, could be better – This is a fan that I thought would be better. It is a little loud, and maybe a bit expensive for what it is. However, I have had it for a year and it still works as well as it did on the first day, so I can't complain about that.  Show details

Very poor quality – Bought this fan 2 years ago. Really liked it initially but it is probably made from really cheap parts. At the time of this review, the control panel at the top of the fan has stopped working and it no longer oscillates. If it was cheaper, I would recommend it but at its current retail price, it is not worth the money as it has to be thrown away… Read more

after 2 years. A friend bought the 90cm model and it experiencing the same problem so it seems to be designed to stop working properly after about a year.

Not worth it – Bought this fan for the bedroom to replace my $20 Bunnings pedestal fan. Couldn't even leave it on for the 1st night. It's much louder than my Bunnings fan, and this was my main reason for wanting to buy the KFA839 thinking with the much higher price point it would be quite. Having it turned to its highest setting its even louder and then if have… Read more

it oscillate you could hear a mechanical sound. Then there's the display while it does dim after 30 seconds leaving just a temperature display it's still too bright as another review pointed out the temperature display should also be turned off when the device is off aswell.

I would only recommend this for maybe a lounge room/family room because its a bit more sleek and would take up too much room (another reason why I bought it). I have gone back too my cheap pedestal fan which has been used for 4 summers now.

Average – It's good for hot days and sleek and nice looks. But when you want lighter frequency it does not serve the purpose. I like it but won't recommend to the people who want a variety of speed options. The remote functions ambiguously as well . Sometimes it works and other times it doesnt  Show details

Lasted 6 months – To begin with I was pretty pleased. The fan worked queitly and moved a lot of air. The only minor issue was the bright led display. However over the last month the fan has developed a loud rattle. Like another person found, it also started loud clicking when oscillating for a few weeks until it stopped oscillating completely. 6 months is nowhere near a good enough lifespan. A very poor quality product in my opinion.  Show details

Poor value for money – I bought 2 of these 8 weeks ago. One was returned and replaced last week for not oscillating. The second original one is now only oscillating every now and then and when it does it makes a loud clicking noise. The replacement one, 1 week old is now making an annoying rattle when in use. These fans are in our bedroom and are switched on at night… Read more

and off in the morning, they are not being abused so therefore the issues must relate to poor quality parts. This is very poor on the part of Kambrook as these are not cheap fans at $125 each.

I could not recommend these to anyone unless you have money and time to waste.

Pleasantly surprised. THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE KFA839! NOT THE 837. MY REVIEW WAS CHANGED WITHOUT MY C – THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE KFA839, NOT THE 837. MY REVIEW WAS CHANGED WITHOUT MY CONSENT. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME PRODUCT. I have not owned a tower fan before but my Vornado floor fans while good, are just far too loud for a lounge room and bedroom setting. I wanted something powerful yet quiet. Now I know there is no such thing as a silent fan -… Read more

they are moving parts shifting air so there will be some noise I grant that.

I liked the look of tower fans but it was their fan design that I was interested in mostly. Being impeller blades and not propeller they should be quieter.

I tested almost every tower fan available today from the cheapest to the Dyson need a small loan to pay for it fan. After weighing up aesthetics and of course airflow (lets face it, that's it primary reason for existing) I decided on the KFA839 tower fan. It is the quietest fan I have ever owned. In fact with a DB meter, this tower fan on high is quieter than the vornado is on its lowest setting - a lot quieter.

The airflow is powerful. I like the nature mode setting. I thought this was gimmicky at first but have grown to like it a lot.

Even though Kambrook do not list the power usage, I have a power meter so have tested it.

On low speed - 33w

On med speed - 37w

On high speed - 44w

Oscillation +3w to all speeds so max power 47w.

Standby 0.2w (due to thermometer always on)

So this thing uses almost nothing really. Far less than the 3300w my mothers air con uses. On my power plan the most it could cost me is 1 cent per hour! Also, there is quite a jump in the output airflow between the 3 speed settings despite the not so big jump in watts.

I love this fan so much I have bought a 2nd one for my bedroom. It's 116cm height means that about 70% of the airflow is above the height of the bed so flows across me quite well.

Very happy! :-)
