assessment. To be clear, I did receive a refund promptly, so the issue is not about money. The real problem is the amount of time, energy, and emotional investment required to get to that point, only to be turned away with no meaningful explanation. What makes this especially unacceptable is that this decision came after I had already gone through their entire intake process. Proper screening should happen upfront, not after patients have committed to multiple steps and requirements. Instead, I was left with a vague statement that my needs fall “outside the scope” of their service, with no clarity around what that actually means. What I found particularly distressing is how this was handled in light of Kantoko’s own published exclusion criteria. Their website outlines serious conditions such as psychosis, bipolar disorder, or crisis-level care needs as reasons for ineligibility. When you are told you are “not suitable” without any clarification, it is incredibly difficult not to assume one of these applies, even if it does not. That kind of ambiguity is not just unhelpful, it is actively anxiety-inducing. To make matters worse, my account was immediately archived, cutting off access to all of the information I had submitted. I can no longer review my own responses or share them with another provider, which undermines their claim that the process “was not wasted.” In reality, it feels like starting over, but now with added stress and confusion. While the response I received was polite in tone, it ultimately felt dismissive and lacking transparency. Patients deserve clear communication, especially in mental health care, and especially after being led this far into the process. Overall, this experience felt like a complete waste of time and emotional energy. I would strongly caution others against using Kantoko unless their situation is extremely straightforward, as the screening process appears inconsistent, opaque, and poorly handled.

Kantoko’s business model prioritises revenue over patient outcomes. The system is rigid, impersonal, and designed to offload a significant amount of work and cost onto the customer, while still charging above-average fees for what is ultimately an inferior service.

Before they will even consider you for treatment, you are required to organise and pay for extensive testing yourself, including blood work, an ECG, a lengthy personal questionnaire, and a second questionnaire completed by someone who knows you well. This process is time-consuming, expensive, and entirely front-loaded onto the customer.

While this might be acceptable if it led to a smooth process afterward, it does not. After submitting everything, I was told my ECG, performed by my own doctor, was unacceptable because it did not include the raw trace data. This requirement was never clearly stated during the process or in the documentation provided for my doctor. Despite this being an administrative technicality, there was no flexibility whatsoever.

As a business owner, I understand the importance of policies. However, it makes little sense to accept a doctor’s referral and pathology results as valid, yet reject an ECG unless the raw trace is supplied so it can be reinterpreted internally.

In short, I obtained a refund and went to another provider. The contrast was immediate. The alternative service was smooth, professional, and genuinely patient-focused.

I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

they refused treatment without detailed explanation and not so much as a phone call to explain. The email correspondence was patronising, condescending and unhelpful.

It's a lot of effort to pull together roughly a dozen different documents, assessments, friends filling out forms, blood tests and ECG, etc. And to go through all that with no indication there's any issues and then be told via email you're not a good fit without explanation or ability to speak to a human is wild behaviour. They're just out here promising easy access to care and then wasting your time. Don't bother.

Very thorough testing, medical diagnosis and ongoing support. Highly recommended, life changing.

I like the sessions but I would like them to go for a bit longer.

I've been thinking about getting ADHD diagnosis for a couple of years and each time, long waiting queues and huge upfront fee was a big barrier. When I found Kantoko I thought it's too good to be true, but I did my research and decided to go ahead, and I'm glad I did.

Kantoko has been the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. The process to get diagnosed has been so easy and stress free. Appointments are always on time and done from the comfort of my own home. I would 110% recommend this service, in fact I tell anyone that will listen! My only wish is that they could also do ASD assessments. But super happy with the psychiatrist I see, the service has been wonderful & supportive.

Over priced and under trained admin staff – I thought long about this one. The service is an absolute disgrace especially considering their entire business model is subscription based. The costs are ridiculous and it works out to be 2-3 times higher than attending a standard psych. If the staff were trained and knew what they were doing maybe you could justify the cost but currently no way in hell. My advice is stay well away from these clowns.
