Big Price Tag Appalling Quality – I ordered this vacuum cleaner about a year ago at Bunnings. I really liked the idea of the water filter. Already when unpacking I thought that it looks a bit flimsy, but gave it the benefit of a doubt, presuming that such a well known brand would get it right. I really feel cheated, for getting such a poor quality. The whole plastic body is very thin and there are two weak points and these are the hinges of the lid (without the lid and the hinges working properly you can throw the vacuum out). The closing mechanism already does not work properly anymore, I have really troubles closing it because the mechanism is so weak. The hinges on the opposite side don't look better either. Basically I spend $600 on a vacuum which lasted a year. On top of it the whole thing is big and bulky, the water container is not very well designed and the parts loosely sit on top of each other. It came with an European plug. The suction used to be good but since it's not properly sealing anymore the suction is only average.

Purchased in at Bunnings Warehouse for $600.

Would never go back to ordinary vacuums – We have had the DS6 for over twelve months now and the 'sucking power' of this vacuum is as strong as the day we purchased it. We have a dog that sheds an excessive amount of hair and so need to vacuum every few days. Combined with the AIRBNB cottage we have, as well as our private house - it is probably on par with commercial use. The DS6 has two attachments (upholstery & small space head) besides the normal floor head that we use regularly. We have never ever used the extra attachments for other vacuums - they sat in the cupboard. As this is a water filter vacuum you can vacuum small amounts of water without blowing up your machine. We vacuum the floor tiles in the bathroom as part of our standard cleaning practise for the AIRBNB. The only issue with the DS6 is its size and so it does take a bit of space up in the cupboard. However, as this is due to the water filter it is a small price to pay. After each time we vacuum we empty the water filter and the amount of dirt, dog hair and just 'stuff' is amazing to see. We use a stainless steel sieve, to drain the liquid into. The water goes in the garden and the 'gunk' goes straight into the bin. A quick rinse of the water filter and it all is ready for the next time we vacuum. I would never go back to an ordinary vacuum cleaner. I cannot recommend the DS6 enough.
