Klever M/T on our 1.75t camper trailer - 15,500km road trip including the sharp gravel Gibb River Road (660km) – Not sure of seasonal durability as we travelled in winter only. The tyres complimented our Ford Ranger perfectly. We had both rear Cooper A/T cut on the Gibb River Road. We are planning another Gibb trip and will fit the Ranger out with Kenda tyres.
Better than tyres twice the price! – As a big brand snob, I have spent a fortune on 4x4 tyres over the years. BFG KO2 are awesome but pricy....coopers wear fast and unevenly on hot roads. An expensive cooper tyre nearly killed me in the Northern Territory when it delaminated at 120km/hr and exploded like a shotgun. After 10 months traveling Australia in my 4x4 I was a little… Read more
strapped for cash. After 40,000km of touring I had worked my way through eight cooper STT MAXX tyres and was really disappointed with their longevity on hot and rugged roads.
After researching good cheap tyres, I was torn between replacing my Coopers with Hankook MT and Kenda MT. I finally booked in to get four Hankook MT's fitted, only to find that they had ordered the wrong Hankook Highway Terrain tyres.
In a split decision I opted for the Kenda Klever MT (245/75/16) that they already had in stock. What an amazing decision that turned out to be!
The on and off road performance of these tyres is amazing! My Hilux feels equally secure in the bush and on the tarmac. They perform sensationally off road and I still have around 45-50% tread after having travelled around 40,000km. More importantly they have stayed perfectly balanced (unlike my coopers) and the wear is completely even on all four wheels. Oh and did I mention that they are no where near as noisy as my coopers or my previous BFG's?
Only down side that Kenda could work on improving is the absence of ejector blocks in-between tread lugs. Extended travel on harsh gravel roads like the Gibb River Road can allow sharp stones to work their way into the tyre. However these are not AT tyres and if you are buying these for mud and everyday fun, they will exceed your expectations.
I will be ordering another set as soon as these ones hit around 55-60k.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND these tyres! Kenda Klever MT...EPIC tyres!
I love these tyres – I fitted 5 Kenda Klever MT KR29 245/75R16 to my 2010 Colorado, I've done 20,000 km on them now and they are wearing really well. Had them off road on everything from red clay to rock and they have always performed. They are a really good cheap tyre. I will buy these tyres again. Show details
Best bang for buck mud terrain – Just got a set of 5 Kenda Klever MT KR29 in 245/75R16 for my Land Rover Discovery MY03 TD5. Cannot speak highly enough of these tyres so far. They were comparatively cheap, but after researching other reviews, mainly US based I thought why not. All I can say is they transformed the car both on and off road. Ride quality is better than the… Read more
original, (very $$$) Michelin's and off road these tyre just work, no loss of traction, quiet, sure footed, very direct at speed on the highway. I will see how they wear and hold balance, but so far I'd recommend them over high priced name brands. 10 ply side walls, LT construction, aggressive tread with sidewall biters and protection. A lot of tyre for the almost half price tag of the big name brands. Took them out on the first outing high speed highway, and then allm day in shale and rock, extremely steep trails, they performed brilliantly.
