Kia Rondo 7 Questions & Answers
VerifiedHas Kia stopped manufacturing the Kia Rondo Platinum model. We had one in 2016 but hit from behind and written off. It was such a fantastic vehicle with so many more extras than the Sportage that I had to replace it with.
I am looking at a2011 year rondo wagon has done about 150000 kl what's the guts on them
What fuel consumption would I expect?
I wanna buy a Rondo 2012 model. What about the electrical system ?
haven't had any issues, all seems ok withi it.
I don't know about that specifically. My Rondo was all-new in design and build. It was totally reliable - I have since sold it. In my opinion, the differences between the original model and the later models is profound and worth saving extra money for. If your budget allows and you can find one, the Platinum version is worth it, but the earlier Sli models are also well kitted-out; later Sli models have fewer inclusions, I believe.
What does it cost to fill up? How many Km's did you get from a tank?
Sorry I have not really checked this – just know it uses about the same amount as my previous car – a 4 cylinder Toyota Camry. I usually put $45.00. petrol in every 10-14 days, which is about 3/4 tank, maybe a little more. I do a lot of driving – picking up dropping off grandchildren who live nearly 20km away. Will check this properly and let you know.
I need to bring 5 adults and 1 child with 5 luggage and small 4 bags. Can i make it in this vehicle... people plus the luggage?
Hi No i don't think so. It is a 7 seater but there is not much boot space with the very back seats in use. Even if you only use one of the back seats for the child and the other for the lugguge you would only be able to fit 2 or 3 suitcases laying on top of each other and the others would have to go at peoples feet in the middle section which i don't think would fit. Hope this helps.
I am thinking of buying the 2011 Kia Rondo and was wondering what they cost of service is - after owning a mazda it is one of the reasons I will not buy another!
Hi Annie, the Rondo needs to be serviced every 15,000km. So far I've had two services done. (1) at 15,000km which cost me $288 and (2) at 30,000km which cost me $415. According to the service manual, the next service (at 45,000km) is similar to the first service (at 15,000km) so I expect the next service to cost around $288 or there abouts.
I've done 33,700km so far and the car hasn't missed a beat. Also the original brakes and tyres are still pretty good and will keep me going for a while even though we have lots of round abouts where we live. Also, full comprehesive insurance with NRMA is $563 annually.
My only complaint about the car is the lack of airconditioning vents and rear speakers in the back row. When we utilise the 3rd row seats, the kids in the back want the air con and the music as high as possible. Everything else is 5 STARS.
I hope this answers your question.
Hi thanks to the above person for answering the question. I have not had to worry about services as my Rhondo is a company car. My hubby works for Kia Australia head office so we get the benefit of driving Kia's of all sorts everyday. I agree with the above mentioned about the speakers in the Rhondo as well as the air vents but we didn't use the back seats very often so it didn't really matter. I am now driving a Carnival and couldn't fault it. To get exact service details i would suggest you call a Kia dealer. They will tell you how much roughly you will be up for. Thanks
