It's rubbish. Don't waste your $29. 1 minute of blending then you have to wait 2 minutes. You can do that 5 times then you need to wait 30 minutes. Couldn't even puree defrosted frozen fruit before auto shutting down because it got too hot. Wasn't even blending for that 1 minute!! Show details

out how to detach the entire base from the jug of my blender as well. Mold had begun to accumulate in the crevice between the glass and plastic, so it was a serious product flaw. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the base was threaded, resembling a twist-to-open mechanism. Initially, I suspected it might have been permanently glued during manufacturing, but I found that it featured a locking mechanism that required disassembly for removal.

Here is what I did: 1) If the blender is fully assembled, turn it upside down and twist the base connected to the blade (the smaller central part). Look for small lock symbols indicating the directions for locking and unlocking the gasket, then remove the blade. 2) Underneath, you'll find a small screw securing the remaining base to the glass. Unscrew it. The small plastic piece holding the screw in place is detachable; simply push it out. This component is what prevents the base from twisting off. Once you've removed the screw and its locking mechanism, the base should easily unscrew, allowing you to separate all the pieces.

I really hope this explanation is helpful. It was such a relief for me to finally resolve the issue. Best of luck!

Blender not working – I bought this blend 2 months ago. I used it maybe 4 -5 times, it was great. I just went to use it again and now it won't work. The lights don't come on. I have checked everything tried different power points and nothing. Naturally I can't find the receipt to take it back...arrggg. Has anybody else had an issue like this?? Show reply

The buy of the year – Since the Anko brand came out, they make good and poor products. This blender is one of the better buys. Was on special at my local store as they are closing down in June. I made a smoothie with the works. Ice cubes, bananas, yogurt and milk. I didn't even chop the banana into small chunks. I pulsed the mix on a low setting for around 3 times and it was the best smoothie ever. No leakage at all. No chunks in the mix.

Faulty – Has a burning smell even after 5 seconds of use. After blending and removing jug from base black liquid dripping out hope we didn't drink it!...Will be returning tomorrow Show details

steel design initially seemed durable, this problem indicates poor sealing or construction. A blender should last longer than a month, especially with basic tasks like blending smoothies. I wouldn’t recommend this product due to its lack of reliability and durability.

Defective – I purchased this a few months ago, and after a few weeks it broke (burnt rubber smell when using, eventually the whole thing came apart). I returned to Kmart and got a replacement, which broke the very first time I used it (sparked, smoked up, and completely died). There is clearly something defective with it. Show details

Not worth it – Bought this blender a year ago, only used it a couple of times and the black plastic bottom of the cup where the blades are attached broke, not sure how, I was trying to blend a smoothie and it went everywhere. causes a flood of blended liquid all over the kitchen counter when I tried taking the jug out. It is clear that this blender should only be used once and immediately discarded.

Anko 1.5L stainless Steel Blender – Bought this blender in October 2023. Only used once and when attempting to use again it doesn't switch on. Unfortunately have no receipt anymore. Contacted Anko and was told they'd contact me within the week...still waiting. Cleaning – Hi, the Anko BL9706-CB blender I bought recently works well for my intended use. Only problem is, I cannot separate the bottom part from the glass jar to give it a thorough clean. I followed instructions in manual, didn't help. Any suggestions? Thanks :) Show details

Not working – I bought an Anko Blender BK9710A-SA in August. I use it once a week. I have the docket & user manual. Today the power on the machine is not coming on? I have tried a few plug points. I rang the 1800# but no response from them.

Bought less than 2 months. It suddenly stopped working – It was good for blending soft food items. It doesn’t blend fruits properly. It’s chunky pieces. Only used less than 5 times. Never worked – Straight out of the box, followed the instructions and didnt work like didnt even turn on. Waste of food that was in it. Really like Kmart but their home brand Anko is not good in this field. Lesson learnt for buying a cheap product and thinking its going to be just as good.

Current model is noisier, struggles to blend frozen fruit at 500ml. Previous model was far superior. I will return item – Previous model with 6 blades could blend frozen fruit and liquid when filled to 1250ml. Current blender struggles to blend when only filled 500ml. Ridiculous Assembly Design – In a nutshell: The base does not screw back onto the glass jug in the normal, tried and true fashion. If you see another answer in PR you will see you have to grab the rectangular tabs inside the base and twist them anti-clockwise while twisting the glass jar clockwise. I only used the jug once and ripped the rubber seal trying to unscrew the base. The old saying - what's cheap is dear. Show details
