modern sofa sinks & sinks & sinks & at times it feels like I'm sitting on boards. A friend of mine also brought the same exact sofa in Jan 2023 (proof available), his sofa is that bad that he has had it moved into his front room & now sits on an old sofa he was lucky enough to have available. I don't know what standards they use to manufacture these sofas , or where there made, but from my experience they are very poor quality . Mine & my friends are basically unusable after 12 months. Please be aware of this if you go to buy one

not be too soft and was on the firmer side. I find if you buy a sofa that is soft, it will only get softer and less comfortable over time. When the sofa arrived it was easy to assemble and was extremely comfortable. I was really happy with the comfort and quality of the sofa however the reason for having to return the sofa was that I found the colour to be quite different to the colour in the product photos which did not suit my other furnishings. I was able to return the sofa and was refunded my money pretty swiftly. I had enquired about fabric swatches, but they did not have any in stock. My suggestion would be to offer sample fabric swatches so customers can get an idea before they purchase. Other than that, I have had a great experience!

In true Koala style the boxes arrived in my mud room just days after ordering. So I put my now six year old to work. Literally, the hardest part of making this sofa was opening the perfectly packaged boxes. I gave this job to my husband , while my six year old, the dog and I watched the video tutorial from the Koala website and had the whole thing assembled in 20 mins. Miss six said she the best part of the job was getting the little turtle toys (included courtesy of Koala) out of the hidey holes (no extra bribery/incentive needed to get her on this job, thank you!).

In terms of the look, feel and design of the lounge. I was a little concerned the fabric would be loose and that I wouldn’t like the feel of the fabric from seeing photos and other reviews on this lounge (hence the umming and ahhing). However, I have have found the sofa stays in tact and looks neat without having to be made on a daily basis and all covers are removable for washing which is a must have for our family.

The feel of the lounge is soft to touch and slightly velvety but doesn’t look overly shiny due to the speckled fabric so you could be fooled to think it was linen. The colour is a little darker and greyer than I expected (but probably lucky for us with cleaning considered). The design is perfect for our space and family allowing four of us to lounge comfortably. It is structured and high enough to get in and out of easily and is soft and comfy to sit on with seats bouncing back after you get up.

Our last lounge was a designer piece ($$$) and lasted only 3 years without having some serious design and material flaws. I think the Koala Modern will far out do this life expectancy and also has a 5 year warranty (unlike the designer furniture shop we went with last. So it’s a safe bet and Koala obviously have confidence in their products.

Thanks again team Koala! You’ve exceeded our expectations and saved our marriage once again! Also I don’t think it counts as slave labour if you pay your kid in turtles .

Yep you can wash the covers. Yes really! – We have had our modern 4 5 seater couch plus ottoman in hawky for 2 years. It's super comfy. Used everyday.. And looks great. Long enough for two to lie down one each end! ok toes touching, but its roomy! Plus a corgi! No pilling on cover at all! Best thing... Despite what koala say you can remove and wash the covers. machine wash about 6 times at least. Line dry. No shrinking ,no pilling and best of all No corgi hair. You do have to take the couch apart to remove covers but it goes back together fine. A two person job possibly tho my partner can now do it solo. And it's so worth having washable covers if you have a dog! Fresh! Why can't koala make replacement covers for this couch I wonder????

Comfy lounge!! – Very comfy lounge, fell asleep on it every night for a week after it arrived. and didn't wake up sore !! Very kid friendly and was very easy to assemble !!

Run away from Koala – The advertised colour is completely different. When I contacted Koala they said it was bad lighting when they were taking photos (like, what the?!). They then sent me a $100 voucher which I used part of in August but have still not received the rug I ordered. This company is a joke. Show details

2ND UPDATED: Koala Replaced Our Sofa F – 2nd update: after 2 years of our new couch… it would appear the same issues are occurring, including terrible covers that lose colour. REVIEW:We purchased this 18 months ago and have requested a replacement on warranty as our sofa is now 3 different heights. Koala has not responded after 7 weeks, saying there is a backlog after continually responding when trying to prove us wrong. Very dissapointed.

Incorrect colour advertised, poor delivery but it is comfortable – The couch is comfortable and great for lounging on, but the colour is not beige as advertised. It is grey. Very undisputedly grey. Which is fine, but not what is being promoted or what you pay for. The consistency of the colour across the fabric was also bizarre. It looks stained. The warehouse also incorrectly label 4 of 8 of my boxes to a different person resulting in weeks delay. Show details

Awesome sofa and awesome service – The sofa is excellent! We had one minor issue with ours and koala was able to come pick up the faulty part and replace it within a day of contact. The little cute dolls they left in the sofa were a nice surprise. Extremely comfortable and very nice colours.

Decent modern sofa chaise – Nice sofa, I ended up returning it because for me it was too soft and using the chaise hurt my back, just personal preference though.

Couch space for all – Comfortably fits all the four kids, and can fit all six of us if we cuddle! Very comfortable and saved the arguments about who gets the couch.

Perfectly good lounge – Great lounge, very comfortable and easy to put together. A little lower off the ground than I was expecting. Koala doesn’t do replacement covers for this set yet like they do for some of their other lounges, I’m hoping they’ll do it for this one in the future. Show details

The best decision of your life – I've been wanting a koala couch for years and finally pulled the trigger. And let me tell you....it did not disappoint. Looks great and feels great – Really loved the look of this sofa especially in blue heeler colour. It looks modern and is very comfortable to sit. Assembly was also very quick. Only thing stopping this from becoming a 5 star product is if they sold changeable covers.
