$400 trap

published

The website says "$400 Kogan.com Credit.
When you spend $1,500 on eligible purchases in the first 90 days from card approval†"....But you need to read the fine print...it says $400 will be credited up to 10 weeks from the qualifying period. Which means you have to wait for approximately 22 weeks (nearly 6 months)...To me the adds has the intention to trick people.

Check the fine print first.

Terrible customer service, paid interest even after paying the account

published

Customer service call couldn't explain why I'm paying interest even after paying out my account..
Just paid interest even when there are 55days interest free just because system calculations are such as per customer service agent

Don’t waste your time

published

Pros
- Approved quickly

Cons/Issues
- Lengthy process with too many mishaps
- Couldn’t create an account due to DOB being incorrect, had to sign a stat dec and signed through with the justice of peace. Not sure how I was approved when it didn’t match. Had to send the letter as they wouldn’t accept digital form, another waste of time.
- Transfer balance didn’t initially go through, called up to redo, they didn’t process till 4 days later. Which means another 2-4 days of it going into my account

Customer service is terrible. Too many issues. Would not recommend to anyone

Worst customer service ever

published

Really disappointed with the customer service. I closed the account and wanted an account closure letter for my home loan. I called the customer service and was asked to chat instead. I could only get a positive response after chatting 5 times with different officers. Yet they offered a letter stating that we received your closure letter with zero balance. I don't understand why they can't issue a letter simply saying your account is closed now. The worst customer care experience ever had!

So far so bad

published

Absolutely ridiculous. I set up a direct debit to pay full amount. The direct debit was reversed! So I was charged $15 and on chat they kept saying “the charge is valid”. Spoke to my bank and they said there was no request to take the money. Very unhappy!

No problems at all!

published

I have had a Kogan CC for about 18 months and have had no issues at all. Love the generous reward points and the initial $400 credit was brilliant. The only negative is the lack off Google or Samsung Pay, which will definitely put a lot of people off.

Poor Repayment Options

published

The only direct debit repayment option is the full balance or the minimum repayment. I did a balance transfer so I could pay off my debt earlier. When I paid an extra replayment manually it then deducted that from the minimum repayment that month so I was no better off. If you are happy to manually make payments then it would be fine but their direct debit option is very limited and for me completely useless.

I then submited a question to them about this and they just directed me to adjust my repayments on the website without actually saying that unfortunately you only have two options for direct debit.

Hi, is it possible to get this card, and buy an appliance I have been wanting to buy, get the $400 (what is now on offer) cashback or reward or whatever, use it and cancel the card (or shred it as there is no annual fee)? Or do they have exit fees?

1 answer
Hmm
Hmm

Yeah that is exactly what I did. They have no exit fees. I cancelled it after I spent the $400, even tho no annual fee, just in case.
